Why can't print to Xerox Splash or HP from Safari or Apple Mail?

I copy pasted this from the Printing and Faxing forum since it seems no one can answer my questions there. Maybe someone here has an answer.
From yesterday:
I just updated my computer from a G4 running 10.3.9 to a G5 running 10.4.5. I used the migrate wizard so I didn't need to install anything new. All my applications even seem to work well. The only thing I can't do is print from Safari or Mail to an HP LaserJet 1320 or a Xerox Docucolor G630. I reinstalled the drivers for both printers and I still can't print. I can print from Quark and Acrobat Reader just fine. A few months ago, I set up a G5 workstation but with that one I needed to install everything from scratch and I'm able to print from Safari and Mail fine from that computer. What do I need to do?
One more thing, I tried printing a page from my System Profile and I can't. I click on the print button and nothing happens. I'm at a loss here. Where do I begin?
I hate to be persistant but I really need some help. Let me tell you what I've done so far.
I've gone to the HP site and downloaded the latest driver for the 1320n series printer and I reinstalled and set up the printer in the print center like I've always done with any of the printers I've set up before. I still can't print from Mail, Safari, and from the system. I see on the HP site that there is a fix in the Tiger system already (I think I'm reading that right) and I shouldn't be worrying about this.
I found in one of the other forum listings about a Foomatic/hpijs and I installed that one. Nothing printed. I tried using a Generic PPD. Nothing happened.
I reinstalled the Xerox Splash printer drivers from the disk and that didn't make a difference.
In the print window, I can't make a PDF, won't let me Preview, and won't let me Print. I click on the buttons and they won't even react. It doesn't do anything. But even with the new drivers I've set up since I started all this, I can still print from Quark and Acrobat Reader. So it seems it's got something to do with the system.
I'm really frustrated here. Can someone please give me a clue if they have one? Anything would be appreciated.

Thanks a million for your input. I really appreciate it. I found the fix though in the troubleshooting section in the book I purchased from Dr. Smoke from the Forums. It's his X Lab for Tiger book. Dr. Smoke is THE BOMB! :~D I have to thank him again for his guru abilities!
There was a plugin that was afoul. The Xerox Accounting plugin was causing my print option not to respond along with the other buttons in the print window. I removed it from the plugin folder and now I can print. I'm glad that's all it was.

Why can't I "add photos to photo.app" from Safari?

I only use Safari for the ability to grab and "add" photos or images directly from Safari into (previously - iphoto) but now it's Photo.app. Why does this feature cease to work? Why are there so many more steps to using Photo.app. I do not think this is an improvement to download to my drive then go to the Photo.app to then import the image.
My OS is 10.10.3. Am I the only one having this issue? Anyone find a workaround because Firefox is the clear winner if this little feature has been stripped away in Photo.app.

My irritations and query is because that option no longer works for me. The option is "available" but does nothing to right click for the menu options to "add to photo". It produces no action whereas it use to direct right into iphoto where I could make quick notes or the reference regarding why I wanted the image.
I can only download the image then go and import into Photo.app. I can't even drag the image over in order to make quick notes while I remember why I was collecting the image in the first place.
I am not sure if there are enough users of Photo.app at this time having this issue or at least not enough powerusers who relied on this once handy feature to note the disappearance in Photo.a
I wrote this up as a feature request. I hope others do too. Or tell me how to resolve this because I don't think Apple software engineers have considered the break in communication between Safari and Photo.app. Maybe it's intentional. IDK

I've never used Print Booklet or your printer, but some things are determined by the printer and printer software, rather than the program from which you are printing. You might want to see if Xerox's website has any info also.

In addition to rebooting the router and the iPad, I would reset the printer as well. Unplug the printer from power and do the same with the router. Leave the router unplugged for about 30 seconds. Plug the router in first and let it totally start up, plug the printer in again, and then reboot/reset the iPad.
Reboot the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider if it appears on the screen - let go of the buttons. Let the iPad start up.
If that doesn't work, you can try resetting all settings. Settings>General>Reset>Reset All Settings. You will have to enter all of your device settings again.... All of the settings in the settings app will have to be re-entered. Your WiFi passwords, location services, device preferences all have to be re-entered. You will not lose any data or media whatsoever.

Are you're apps working from the front panel of the printer? You will want to make sure that you have internet connection to your printer. If you don't, you can follow these steps:
1. Find your printer's IP address.
2. Enter the IP address in the address bar of your internet browser.
3. Click the network tab.
4. Click IPv4 under the wireless/wired menu on the left hand side of the printer screen.
5. Set Manual settings.
6. Set a Manual preferred DNS of 8.8.8.8 and alternate DNS of 8.8.4.4.
7. Click apply and try downloading the forms again.

It seems ePrint is no longer available and now forced to use HP Connect. I am not seeing the option to print in black and white. Printing email messages in color is a waste of ink. Any help would be appreciated.

I was using ePrint however that is auto-directing me to HPConnected and I no longer have the option to change the printing options to Black and White or Color. This is a recent change for me.

Hi,
Using the Parameters is the correct method to pass data into and out of a sub sequence. You assign your data to be passed into or out of a Sequence when you are in the Edit Sequence Call dialog and in the Sequence Parameter list.

The general answer is to select the photo(s) in iPhoto and export to a desktop folder (file menu ==> export). In the finder right click on that folder and burn to disk

For your addressbook, export the files to vCard on the PowerMac, then bring them over to your Mac Pro. For your iPhoto, copy the Users -> yourname -> Pictures folder to your Desktop on the Mac Pro, and open iPhoto on the Mac Pro holding the command and option keys. Select the library file from that Pictures folder and open it. It should import all the pictures into iPhoto as part of the rebuild process. There has never been a function to copy anything from an iPhone and paste it to a computer.
All of your media should be in iTunes already.
If it is not and was purchased from iTunes, right click on the device and select Transfer Purchases.
If the media is not in iTunes and was not purchased from iTunes, how did you get it on the device in the first place?

What country are you in ? Re-downloading music isn't currently possible in all countries (the record companies need to agree to it for each country). If you are in a country where music can be re-downloaded, then if the tracks are still in the store then they should show under the Purchased link under Quicklinks on the right-hand side of the iTunes store home page on your computer's iTunes.

Do you still have the original plastic shipping cover on the face of the iPhone? Or any kind of screen protector that covers the speaker ear hole. That will block the sound.
My wife experienced this.
Also if you still have the shipping plastic on the back, it will cause the camera flash to spill back into the camera lense spoiling your pictures.

Yes, other users have complained about that. Unfortunately, Fireworks' development was halted a year ago, and I would be surprised if Adobe spends any money or time to fix bugs and interoperability issues in Fireworks. I would not expect any real updates or fixes.
