Why can't send message to friends with imessage?

I tried to send messages to my friends with my touch, but after i typed in my friend's Apple ID (email address), it said this user has not registered. I have tried several other friends, but it did not work either. However, friend succeeeded in sending me a message. What is the problem? What is wrong?

if you didnt find a solution yet, i'd like to ask if you enabled iMessage on your device? to enable it, you must first disable it, then enable again, just once, then you can use it, you friend should also do it...
i had this problem at first too, then searched on the web, and saw that we had to do this first...

i have iMesage on my macbook pro and am trying to send a message to my friends via their iphone. do they need to have some sort of application to receive my messages? i thought they can just receive it as a text.

Can't send images or video with iMessage

I have a very strange problem and am unablt to find a solution. I am trying to exchange pictures and videos with my friend and we discovered the following
My friend can send all content (pictures, videos, text only) to me.
I can ONLY send text messages to my friend, but videos and images report as "not delivered"
My friend can ONLY send text messages to another friend, but videos and images don't work.
I as well can ONLY send text messages to this 3rd friend...
Somehow I am the only one being able to receive images and videos on iMessage, but it seems all our 3 phones are configured exactly the same...
Does anybody have an idea? I think I tried everything but I might have overlooked a small thing. So any help is greatly appreciated.

If you go in to Settings>iMessage -Try turning it off then back on and send a message to see if it works.
If it doesnt work Try going to Settings>general>reset >reset all settings- this wont delete anything so no worries -just settings will be modified.
After it reboots re-setup the device and test again - dont restore from a backup- just setup a new -does it work?

How can I send messages to people without iMessage through my mac?

I just downloaded the new update to my Mac. I can send text messages, but still only to people with iPhone. How can I go back so that I can text everyone without iPhone as well?

I apologize, I'm a bit unclear on the exact nature of your question, and/or your current configuration. Are you currently using an iPhone with your Mac via Continuity? Continuity should allow you to send SMS messages from your Mac, via your iPhone, to any other phone, as outlined below:

So when friends text you — regardless of what phone they have — you can respond from your Mac or your iPhone, whichever is closest.2 All the messages that appear on your iPhone now appear on your Mac, too, so your conversation is up to date on all your devices. You can also start an SMS or iMessage conversation on your Mac by clicking a phone number in Safari, Contacts, Calendar, or Spotlight.

Mavericks Messages problem sending message: "not registered with iMessage"

I'm on MacBook Air(MBA) and recently installed Mavericks. I try sending a message from MBA MESSAGES to a person's cell phone number (they have an android phone). Their name appears in red and I get: "...is not registered with iMessage." So I was trying to read discussions in here and allot of them say Messages won't work unless a person has an Apple device- iphone, Mac, etc. I want to know if that is true or if there is any other way to send from the MBA a message to them? I also tried from Messages on MBA to their gmail address, which they use on their android cell phone, and get same error.
Is there anyway a non-apple person can "register with iMessage" if they have an android phone?
I know I can email them, but I wanted a fast way for emergency purposes to get a MESSAGE to them from my MBA. Sometimes they can't talk on phone at some times, but are allowed to get instant message for emergency where they work.

You have to have otr get an AIM or AIM valid name.
AIM stands for Aol Instant Messenger.
Apple IDs issued by Apple (Those ending in @mac.com or iCloud issued @me.com and @icloud.com) are valid as AIM Screen Names if the password is kept to 16 characters or less. (this is an AIM server limit)
Apple made an Agreement with AOL over the use of names over 10 years ago.
The Original .Mac ID (@mac.com) could be paid for or could be Trial Accounts.
Trial Accounts continued to work after the trial ran out. (i.e. the email stopped but the AIM Screen Name didn't).
The same was true of lapsed accounts.
When MobileMe started people could link, email-wise, their paid for .Mac accounts to the paid for MobileMe (@me.com) accounts.
Any @mac.com still works over the AIM service.
Now also @Me.com names worked - meaning some people had two valid AIM names - they are not liked for use with AIM just that the passwords will be the same.
With the end of MobileMe all those @me.com account died as far as AIM is concerned.
However you could link it to iCloud which effectively moved it to the iCloud server.
(i.e. they are iCloud issued @me.com ID instead of MobileMe ones)
Then Apple started to issue @icloud.com IDs
This could mean that some people have three working IDs for use with AIM (but all linked to one email Account at Apple).
NOTES
From Lion onwards (iChat 6 and Above) Apple have had the app also login in to Apple before it will allow the AIM Servers to "read" the password.
This applies to any iCloud issued ID - the "newer" iCloud linked @Me.com and @iCloud.com IDs
This means you cannot use those IDs in iChat 5 or earlier as those version only do an one point login only.
With the coming of iCloud other Apple IDs could be linked to iCloud which may have given you either @me.com and later an @iCloud.com ID as well or just an @icloud one if you were later to the party as it were.
Whilst in some cases this does give you two valid AIM Screen Name the originating Apple ID does not become one.

I've tried solutioms like restoring backups, and it's easily not my network settings.
BAsically, imessage pictures can be received but not sent. To anyone. The only thing that works are sms pictures, unfortunately. For instance, I can't send pictures in a group chat at all.

Can't send messages to friends on BBM Android and Apple

Recently many of my friends added me to their new Android and Apple BBM applications.
It all worked fine yesterday. Today, they can send me messages but all my replies are marked with an X so non deliverable.
Any known issues or are there any current things I can try? I tried deleting them and re-inviting but no success.

well over a month since this problems started and as far as i can see BB have not acknowledged the problem nor offered a solution.

Can't send messages using 4s with iOS8

Wasn't able to send any messages right after I downloaded iOS 8 so I restored network settings and it fixed the problem. However I am having the same issue now and I do not want to have to go through this every couple of days. Any one else have this issue and find a resolution?
Applies to both wifi and over 3g.

I got my iPhone 4S yesterday, and I tried texting my mom, who has hernimessage turned off, but it wouldn't. It told me it sent, but she never got it. And I can't receive any message that isn't an iMessage. How do I fix it? I tried turning off my iMessage. That didn't work.

Check Settings>Messages>MMS Messaging to see if it's set to "On". Check with your carrier to see that your account is properly provision. Check to see if your carrier is a supported iPhone carrier. Not all features work or work properly on unsupported carriers.

I would guess that the problem contact does not have iMessage turned on. The iPad can only send iMessages not SMS messages (phone text). You can send a message to this contact with your iPhone because your iPhone can send SMS text messages.

I can't send messages to my BBM contacts

When I send messages to someone in bbm they can receive it , I tried security wipe then after the security wipe it worked but after 24 hours I can't send messages again , always with the red x , I'm a bit frustrated now.

Hi and Welcome to the Community!
With a strong carrier network signal (e.g., not merely WiFi), I suggest the following steps, in order, even if they seem redundant to what you have already tried (step 1 should result in a message coming to your BB...please wait for that before proceeding to the next step):
1) Register HRT

Please wait for one "registration" message to arrive
2) Reboot
Pre-BB10 Devices ONLY. With power ON, remove the back cover and pull out the battery. Wait about a minute then replace the battery and cover. Power up and wait patiently through the long reboot -- ~5 minutes.
BB10 Devices. Hold the top button down until the counter reaches zero. Wait for the device to be fully shut down (e.g., nothing at all displayed on the screen, no LED lights, etc.). Hold the top button until the red LED is lit. Wait through the full boot-up process. IF this fails, you can attempt the battery-pull method above, but it is normally NOT recommended unless nothing else works.
See if things have returned to good operation. Like all computing devices, BB's suffer from memory leaks and such...with a hard reboot being the best cure.
Hopefully that will get things going again for you! If not, then you should contact your mobile service provider for formal support.

What I recommend you try doing first is to turn iMessage off then back on. If that doesn't work, make sure that your Apple ID and password are correct. If everything seems correct and you still can't send out messages using iMessage instead of text message, I think you should either try calling AppleCare at 1-800-MY-IPHONE (1-800-694-7466) and/or scheduling an appointment at the Genius Bar at an Apple Store (that is, if there's one close to you).
