Why Can't Something Simple such as Setting Color Space Be Included??

Seriously, Lightroom is really lacking in that one cannot select a particular color space to be used in Lightroom. This is in Photoshop why not in Lightroom?
I'm sure there would be many others interested in this simple feature.

LR works in a broad color space, similar to, but not exactly Pro Photo, which, when you export to files outside of LR, you can set to a number of color spaces.
RAW files have no color space, or temperature, so you have wide latitude in setting them when you convert a file to TIFF, PSD, JPEG.

I actually just came across the same thing in the meantime.
And it worked!
If you bought the physical Pantone books, there is a registration/serial number on the back. You can go to Pantone and register it (https://www.pantone.com/pages/MYP_myPantone/mypProductRegistration.aspx)
Then you're able to download the Pantone manager.
There are infact 336 new colors added to the Pantone Plus series. And this is where you need to get them. Once you have them, in Pantone color manager, you go to: File/Export/Adobe Illustrator/sRB. Then restart Illustrator.
Once you go back in, the new 336 colors are available!

Why can't I see the keyframes in color over stroke?

Why can't I see the keyframes in color over stroke? I am trying to adjust a heart beat monitor effect I created. I started with a bezier line and gave it a light streak #3 style. In the Color Over Stoke shape window I can click the arrows left and right to jump from KF to KF but they will not appear as editable points in the keyframe editor. I wonder if this is a bug?

Here's what I did to see them
-Added a line shape
-Dropped Light Steak 3 style on the line layer in the layer list.
-Selected the line and in the inspector, went to Shape>Stroke>Color over stroke.
-Selected the first color tag in the gradient.
-At the far right side of the color parameter, clicked the downward facing arrow and selected "Show in Keyframe Editor" option.
The keyframes show up in the keyframe editor. Repeat for each color or opacity tag as needed.

How to set color space to JPEG image with Java advance Imaging.
is there any API in JAI which support to set color space.

I'm definately no guru, but this is how you can change it.
CTRL + ALT + Click on the part of the component that you want to change. This brings up the Hidden Dom Inspector, background of component will be surrounded with a red outline (Make sure the red outline is surrounding the part of the tabset you want to change), Now you go to properties sheet and click the ellipses next to rules property this will pop up a dialog you look in this list (At the top) to see the default style classes that are affecting the rendering of the component outlined in red. (You will be able to select different sections of a single component) then you just rewrite the style class that you want to change in your Stylesheet (You will not find the styleclass that you want to change because it is a part of your theme .jar but as long as you name it exactly the same and place in your stylesheet it will override the theme .jar style classes) it's actually very easy -- you were right should be a piece of cake for a guru. Don't have the link handy but you can check out Winston's Blog on changing Table Formatting to get this information...It is EXTREMELY useful if you want your apps to have a custom look and not default that comes with Creator Themes.

Setting color space in "Open with External Editor"

This has been touched on in the forums, but I wanted to ask the question outright: Can you set the output color space to something other than AdobeRGB when you use "Open with External Editor"? I can't find any way to change it... I like to work in ProPhoto, I saw some like to work in sRGB.
Regardless of how the presets are set in the Version Export or the Presets, it will only come in to Photoshop as AdobeRGB.
Anybody know?

Well, to answer my own question, I now have it on good authority, actually the best authority, so good I can't say WHO, that there is NO way to specify a color space when using "Open in External Editor". Other than writing a script.
Hopefully this is an oversight, and will be in the next update!

Why can't I right-click and set desktop picture?

I am having a lot of trouble changing my desktop picture. From what I understand, you right-click the image and click on 'set as desktop picture'. I click it and nothing changes. I have tried to download the image and set it manually through System Preferences but when I go into Desktop & Screen Saver but there are no other folders other than the 'Apple' one that have the wallpapers that come with the computer.
If it's relevant at all, my macbook pro is a 10.6.8 version.

You should be able to do it three ways, some of which you already know:
Right-click image, choose "Set Desktop Picture"
Right-click desktop, choose "Change Desktop Background"
Go into System Preferences, click "Desktop and Screen Saver"
Note when you are in System Preferences, the current desktop is shown in an indented "well." That always indicates that it is a drop target. You don't need to be able to see in the list the pictures or folder you want. Just drag it from the desktop, or iPhoto, or whatever app you're looking at your photo in, and drop it in that well, and it will be set.

If you did want to do it the old-fashioned way and drill through folders and files, you can click the plus symbol [ + ] below the list there and then you can add any folder to the list. In case you have a folder full of desktop backgrounds, for instance.
(I might be wrong about some of this since I am using 10.8)

Why can't I see the applications set in the Excell client

I can log into the APPSET in Admin console, Also I can loginto the APPSET in MS Excel client. But I can not see the Applications in the APPSET. I have tried every trick on the book for this SAP BPC MS7 version. Any clue will be highly appreciated. Thanks

Any way I still don't understand the issue:
You said you are able to connect using webexcel. If you are able to connect with webexcel that's means you are able to see the application because otherwise you can not login.
Also into admin console you should be able to see all the application from that appset?
Are you saying it is one application which should be there but it is not?

Why can't get gmail account to set up on iMac

This morning I can't seem to get emails to download on my IMac. I deleted the account and tried to reinstall and it still gives me the same message. I went to the google account and made sure the server (IMAP) was entered correctly. It worked fine until this morning.

You are not alone. There seems to be a hiccup on the gmail servers.
Not much we can do but wait for it to be sorted out.
If you need to check your emails, try to get in through Safari. It will still ask for your password, but at least it won't be rejected this way.

Why can't I post? I set up an account and the page has my info on it.

My photos are not showing up in IPhoto 9.6. I am using Yosemite. Someone said to run Library Installer 1.1, but it is not in my Utilities application. I got one of my events to show up and 9 photos by individually highlighting them, but I don't want to do that with 5,000 photos. My IPhoto is listed as 9.6.

The updater 1.1 is only needed if your library was create with iPhoto 7 (08) or earlier and it's the first time you're trying to open the library with iPhoto 9.6.
What you need to do is do the following:
1 - launch iPhoto with the Command+Option keys held down to open the First Aid window. Be sure to follow the circled recommendation in the screenshot.
2 - run Option #4, Rebuild Database.

Why can I not print PDF files in color?

I downloaded U.S.IRS tax Form 1040 for 2014 from Forms and Publications (PDF). All the text is black. Much of the form has a pale green background that does not extend to the edge of the page. There are fill-in areas that have a pale purple background. At least that is the way the form appears when I view it on my PC.
When I try to print the form in color, however, all the text is white except for the word "Form" in the upper-left corner. The green background prints as solid black. The fill-in areas are white, which makes the white text invisible. (When I print merely in black-and-white, the text is black, the green background is a very light gray shadow, and the fill-in areas are white. Thus, the form looks okay.)
Also, if I attempt to print a PDF file that contains color images, the images print strangely. Images are stretched horizontally and then cut off at right edge of the actual image box. Furthermore, text is white against a background of alternating, narrow, vertical, black and white stripes. An example is page 8 of the AVG 2015 User Manual from http://download.avgfree.com/filedir/doc/AVG_Free/avg_free_uma_en_2015_15.pdf. (Again, printing this in black-and-white, the text is black, the background is white, and the image appears as an appropriate black-and-white approximation of the actual image.)

Do you have Acrobat installed? Can you open it and load a PDF? If so, select print and select the desired printer. If this does not work, then tell us the error message you get. It would help to know the OS and version of Acrobat. Air is a separate product (and I still don't know what it does, sorry).

Why can't the Utility function's 'Erase free space' create temporary file

I've been using erase free space without problem for some time.. Then today when I tried to use it, got an error message to say that erase free space won't work because it can't create a temporary file. I have a 320 GB MBP with 88 GB of free space.
I'd love you forever if you can help me get round this issue

Thanks BD for your reply. Here's the info on the drive: 1.3 TB capacity with 1,017 GB available. Eventually I will recycle the computer at Best Buy who guarantees the hard drive will be erased. I just want to get all my files off first. I'll just do another Erase Free Space and see, as you suggest, if there are any files to be zeroed out. Maybe there aren't any. I've extracted most of what I want but am debating how to move the entire iPhoto library to an external drive so I can access it from my Mavericks machine. Can I just drag and drop the iPhoto Library, or do I need to export it somehow?

Why does the Firefox 4 default theme set colors that look odd in Windows 7?

On two different Windows 7 PC's I installed FF4 today. I also enabled the Menu bar as I prefer the additional functions to be handy.
The Menu bar is a Gray and light gray color combo that not only looks awkward, but is difficult to read. It seems to follow the Windows 7 standard theme, but doesn't do it very well.
Google searching the issue I see a few other users complaining of the same issue, but I have yet to see an easy fix.
In addition to the bars being colored awkwardly, icons for my extensions that appear in the upper right are also tough to read.
This was not the case with FF3.x.

did you solve your problem? I've just migrated to W7 and appear to have the same issue. On XP default FF4 theme is gray, which actually suited me. Now on W7 Firefox 4 default theme suddely becomes BLUE !?
What system color does FF4 pick? My OS window color is black, where does blue come from?

Why can't I see my clips in color

I am using send to color from FCP - SD footage
When it opens in color some of the clips just aren't there or it is the incorrect scene. Some of them work great. I took the clips that weren't in color, put them in their own sequence and sent to color and got a totally different scene. I did slow the footage down and it was from a mulit-clup, but I told the sequence to flatten all of the multiclips. Any info?

Okay, that's not in the manual but it should be in the Release Notes.
Multi-clips aren't handled (well) by the hidden XML export. FT/Color doesn't know which clip to address, even if it has been "flattened". Peruse your "Shots" bin. You'll probably wind up rendering out the selected angles as independent clips to get COLOR to recognize them.
Speed changes: not handled well, either. It apparently shows the correct frames now, for linear/constant factors, but it will attempt to render the ENTIRE ORIGINAL SOURCE CLIP no matter how long it is -- eg. the entire one hour of material if you did a "Capture Now" on a tape, even if you only selected a few frames of it.
Also consider the non-support of Drop frame.

Why can't I save inputs, outputs, or colors with Channel Strip settings? :(

I am really just starting to embrace the library for Channel Strip settings - I love that it saves the plug-ins and cusotm Icons, but I kind of thought it would make sense for everything to be saved, no?
I would like to choose a Channel Strip and have it show up with the I/O routing and a saved color. Is this possible and I am just missing it?

You may be hitting a bug. On my system, when I double-click a bin, the new instance of the Project panel inherits the column layout from the current instance. A screen capture video may help get a better handle on what you're seeing.
like a feature request to be able to save Project Panel column order independent of the saved workspace.
If I'm just misunderstanding and PPro is behaving as expected, then you have two options:
Have each user save a workspace with their own particular panel layout and a common column order. Then, after taking hand-off of the project, select the preferred workspace.
when the project is handed off, have the recipient enable the "Import Workspace from Projects" option in order to get the column layout (Window>Workspaces), then move the panels around as desired.
