Why can't we add programs to the list of right-click "open with" in Bridge?

I've followed various discussions and can find no official solution, nor any easy-to-follow solution for this issue.
What is the point of having bridge if we are unable to right click from bridge and open any image in any of the CC programs.
Am I missing something here?
also, I was fairly convinced that I could do this the last time I used bridge, last week, and now I can't.
I have used the "update cloud" today.

Maybe you can specify a bit more of your problem?
In basic, having a correct install automatically adds all CC applications to the list above the line and most of the non adobe applications under the line.
You can add a new default using Bridge Preferences File type associations and if this is not in the list at the bottom of the pop up menu is a browse button to search your disk.
But you simple can't open any image in any Adobe application because not all adobe CC apps support all file types or can't even view images.
The Open Width list also varies per file type. For instance a Raw or DNG file gives you only the CC - applications with a Raw converter and that narrows it down to PS.
A .mov file only provides After Effects and Premiere Pro etc etc.
And you have to option to place all kinds of files in ID, AI, Ps etc. using the right mouse click menu.
If your behavior differs then first start refreshing preferences as a start.

When you install Acrobat XI you are also installing Reader for use in the browser. Reader is "sandboxed", or as it says in the Preferences, it is in "Protected Mode". Acrobat does not understand the concept of running in sandboxed memory (sandbox is a security feature to prevent the bad guy from exploiting a memory error and getting into a memory address where they can do damage to your computer) so to help protect Acrobat users the same way Reader users are protected we just install Reader along with Acrobat, but it is only used in the browser (part of this is because the bad guys use web sites as their primary method of distributing corrupted PDF files that can cause problems).
That said, because you are in Reader the file needs to be Reader Enabled prior to being posted to the web site (or opened in the browser). Once the file is Reader Enabled you should be able to add the text annotations.

You cannot manually manage music with match turned on on your iOS device. If you want to manage music manually, you will need to turn off match on your iPhone.

The easiest way is to keep Textedit in the Dock and drag the .cue file(s) to the Dock icon.
You can also create an Automator Service:
Open Automator
Select: Service
Select Service receives selected [files or folders] in [Finder]
and:
Then select one or more .cue file, right click (or Control-click) on the selection to display the contextual menu. Scroll to the bottom of the contextual menu and select Services -> (what you named the Service).

Why can't I go directly to the web address by clicking on the search result?

Watching dvds with vlc-no right-click 'open with vlc' option as on the pc?

i searched discussions for this question but wasn't sucessful ... so here's my question:
i use a toshiba pc laptop and an iMac G5 ... in order to watch dvds (with different region codes) on my PC, I use VLC with great success ... I wanted to do the same on my iMac, but came across the following problem:
when I want to watch a DVD on the laptop, i simply right-click the title and go for 'open with VLC' (which gives me the menu and so on) ... when I try to do this on the iMac, however, there is no
'open with VLC' option when I right-click the DVD ... I can open single chapters of the DVD by opening the single .vob files, but I'm not happy with doing that ...
any ideas how to make watching DVDs with VLC on my iMac as easy as it is on my laptop?

If you want all video DVDs to open in VLC, go to System Preferences>CDs & DVDs>When you insert a video DVD:>Open other application> and now select VLC.
This will open VLC, but the DVD will not automatically play, you have to go to File>Open Disc once in VLC.
One question though, why not use Apple's DVD player Application?

Why can't I add artboards using the New Artboard button in the Artboards panel?

I cannot add artboards using the New Artboard button in the Artboards panel; I can only draw additional artboards with the artboard tool. I was able to create additional artboards earlier using the button in the panel, but suddenly (in one file) it stopped working and it displays the message "Cannot create artboard outside the canvas", even though I'm not attempting to create the artboards outside the canvas. I only ever had four artboards in the file. I deleted three of them, and now I can't even create a second artboard using the button. Even though I can use the artboard tool to create more artboards, my preference 99% of the time is to use the button in the panel. If I start a new file, the button allows me to create up to eight artboards. After the eighth, it then displays the "Cannot create..." message. But in the new file, I can delete the additional seven artboards and then add them back using the button. So I'm not sure what's preventing me from creating additional artboards using the button in my current file. Any help is appreciated! Thank you!

Why Can't I Add Buttons To The Browser?

I deleted the "Medium Icon" button in the Browser and realised I needed it back.
So I right-clicked to open the button menu and chose the medium icon from the "Display" section.
There was no way I could get it (or any other button) into the browser. As I got the button over the browser it had a little x by the side of it. However, when I moved the button anywhere near the other windows they were only too willing to open up to accept it!
The only way I could get the medium icon button into the browser was to restore the defaults.
Why couldn't I get the browser to accept buttons?

I've just been away from the computer for a couple of hours and after reading your reply, I suddenly had an idea!
The Browser had been set to its narrowest width to accommodate a large Viewer and Canvas.
All I had to do was stretch it out wider and it accepted the buttons willingly.
What caught me out originally was that I was able to delete existing buttons but not replace them. You would think that if there was space for them to exist, there would be space to replace any that were subsequently deleted.
Strangely enough the narrow Browser would still accept extra buttons when asked to restore the defaults.

Why can't I add certificates to the default firefox profile?

I am using the NSS certutil to add a certificate to users profiles on OS X (10.8-10) running Firefox ESR 31.4.
There is no problem adding the cert to existing users profiles, however I want to add it so that new users who log in will automatically have the cert installed.
As I understand it, I should be able to install the cert to a default profile in the application that will then go out to new users when they run FF for the first time, however this has not been the case in my testing. I have been running the cert util, as root, on the directory '/Applications/Firefox.app/Contents/MacOS/browser/defaults/profile'.
The command ('/opt/local/bin/nss-certutil -A -i mycert.cer -n "My Cert" -t "C,," -d "/Applications/Firefox.app/Contents/MacOS/defaults/profile"') runs without error and places three files in there: cert8.db, key3.db, secmod.db
When i log in as a new user on the system however, they do not have the cert. What am I missing?

Turns out it was a permissions issue, the files created by the certutil in the defaults folder got root only permissions given to them. I opened them up and it's working fine.

Right-click "Open with" shows multiple options of the same app.

Just bought this computer less than a month ago, everything is perfect except for this little bug that seems to be getting worse and worse.

That indicates a corrupt LaunchServices database, which controls that stuff. Launch the Terminal app in /Applications/Utilities/, copy & paste in this one-liner (ensure that there are no spaces in the first line, the forum's software sometimes displays
Launchse rvices, instead of Launchservices, in the window), hit the return key, quit Terminal, and restart:
/System/Library/Frameworks/CoreServices.framework/Versions/A/Frameworks/LaunchSe rvices.framework/Versions/A/Support/lsregister -kill -r -domain local -domain system -domain user

I've seen this requested in several past Lightroom versions.
Is Adobe not addressing this basic feature for a reason?, I mean, even Aperture has this feature, it can't be that hard to add? Can it?
Maybe Adobe isn't reading the feature request?

Honestly, I am hardly qualified to even guess - there are tons of bugs reported that would be easy to fix, but aren't, features that would be useful and easy enough to implement, but aren't. Things like focus points which seem like a no brainer but are never implemented - your guess is as good as mine..
But to be clear: focus points are different for different cameras, and are stored in proprietary metadata. - not impossible to get at, obviously, but requires some programming/maintenance..
Worth noting: Apple is shutting down their Aperture business. Yeah, they support focus points and all kinds of good stuff, but I guess Aperture isn't a real money-maker for them (lotsa maintenance work, but not a lot of revenue) - relatively small market.
Adobe has been working on Revel, and Lightroom Mobile.., instead of focus points (and bug fixes, and...) - my guess: that's where the money is, or where they think it is.

I assume that you mean that you do have an iPhone because messages will not work with any other type of cell phone. You should be able to add your phone number in Settings>Messages>Send & Receive at>You can be reached by iMessages at, if your phone number is lited in there, select it and then uncheck your email address and then the iPad will be using the phone number just like the iPhone.
If you phone number is not listed in there, you probably have to sign out/turn off Messages on the phone and the iPad and then start over again on the phone - and then your phone number should be accessible to use on the iPad.
