Sorry for the confusion; it seems as though I am the one confused--after jumping through several hoops, I thought I was sending a question to the Firefox help support...my question was about 7 characters too long to send, apparently.

Every time I load Firefox it loads a tab called "ask a question|Navigation|Firefox Help" -- how do I disable this?

One tab is my Home Page the other is the tab called "Ask a question|Navigation|Firefox Help" It's not a problem, just an irritation because I delete the tab every time. I have the "Help" menu selection and can click at any time so I don't need that "Ask a question|Navigation|Firefox Help" tab loading each time.

That’s just the problem I’m having. I follow all the steps as found in the iPhoto help. I select a photo then click the i (INFO) button in the lower right corner to open Faces - Keywords - Places pane. Then select the Keyword I want to remove, then the delete key. The key word I want to remove is removed okay at that point, (from the Keywords pane.)
However, when I go and do the same operation on a second photo - again the keyword is removed in the Keywords pane - then when I go back the first photo - the unwanted keyword is back.

If the PDFs were made from scanned (bitmap) images, they would have no selectable text, and you couldn't add comments to those.

I asked the question because I thought I had registered to be able to contribute to the 'forum' many months ago but when I tried the username/password I'd thought I'd registered I continually received wrong password error messages.
So I then tried, in turn, the three options on the login page for those who have forgotten what they had registered. These prompts were, apparently, sent to the email address associated with this account but nothing was turning up in my inbox.
There was no indication at any time that there was actually no registered account but eventually I came to that realisation. That's when I tried to 're-register' and discovered how Byzantine the real registration process was.
Anyway sorted now and the question I wanted answered about how, after the latest Firefox update, to get my alternative search engine options displayed again as for previous versions, was answered in another thread I found later. Why that had been changed I can't guess.
IMHO constantly visible icon/text confirmation of the user chosen or default search engine in the search box should be the Default Firefox display setting.
With its instantly available drop down menu for the other available search engines it is a more sensible and better designed GUI feature than a blank search box which will only show that information after you start to enter a search term.

The 2nd ethernet connection goes to an ethernet splitter that connects to my Yamaha Amp, Apple TV Living Room, thunderbolt connected MacBook Air, Bell HD PVR Sat Receiver and Xbox One.
By splitter I presume you mean switch.. as long as it is gigabit there is no issues.
Some of you info is a bit hard to follow and I cannot really comment.. wireless links are necessary evil but to be avoided as much as possible.. in particular no double hop wireless.. that means all wireless AP should be ethernet linked back to a main router.. when you extend wireless you halve the speed. You also make the network less reliable.
I have used the "Guest Network" in an attempt to prioritize specific home connections when Guests arrive.
Guests is for keeping the clients out of the main network.. it has no particular QoS attached to it.. although when you extend wireless in guest network it does seem to go super slow.. this I think is more a bug than deliberate. Apple routers have no support for qos.
What is the best configuration?
All ethernet.. any wireless should not be extended.. only single hop to any wireless access point.
Should I attempt to assign wireless channels to our devices to improve connections?
Only if auto fails.. if it does then take control of the whole thing.. but you need to spend some time doing wireless surveys around the house.. start with the main AE with nothing else.. work out what signal levels you get and where the dark areas are.. then power on the TC and whatever express are associated and do the survey again.. get levels of each AP as seen by client in the places you want to use them.. conflicting wireless signals should be separated as much as possible but it is not so easy as there are only 3 non-overlapping channels at 2.4ghz namely 1, 6, 11 and using in between channels is not really going to help. 5ghz has more available channels but AC chews up 80mhz by itself so that doesn't leave so many.. although 5ghz wireless range is less so interference is less of an issue.
You also have to check what wireless is around you.. and that adds so much to complexity you might as well leave things on auto.. although I break that rule when I extend wireless because I think it is less than stable so the less auto the better.. and another reason to avoid extend wireless.

Static IP can help but you should always use dhcp reservation on the main router. That helps to keep the ARP tables correct.. although Yosemite has real network issues.

Why can't I connect one Windows 8.1 PC to other Windows 8.1 PCs in my workgroup when using a Microsoft Account?

I finally decided to convert some of my local accounts to Microsoft Accounts on my Windows 8.1 PCs. Big mistake to this point.
I have two PC's with the same Microsoft Account set up, neither PC can browse to the other or map a drive through browsing.
I'm not using a homegroup. My daughter has one setup on her laptop and desktop, and I don't want my PC's on her homegroup. Until Microsoft makes it possible to have 2 homegroups on the same subnet, this is not an option.
The local accounts on both PC's have no problem browsing, mapping, etc. I can connect to the other PC's just fine using local accounts, so I know physical connectivity isn't an issue, neither is my anti-virus or really anything else system wide on either
computer.
I just can't attach automatically using a Microsoft Account. I have to manually map a drive every logon/reboot.
I have also found that running a logon script doesn't work. The drives will not map automatically.
The Microsoft Account users can map a drive using "Connect using different credentials." However, the credentials don't hold across reboots.
I can manually (using either a Microsoft Account or a local account) map a drive using "net use" which then opens up all of my mapped drives and allows for browsing to the other PC. However, this doesn't work across reboots/logons either.
Entering credentials in the Credentials Manager (Whether I use the Microsoft Account credentials or one of the local user credentials) doesn't work across reboots either.
Yes, I have the same Microsoft Account setup on both PCs. I have tried giving them both Admin and Standard user rights on both PCs.
I have turned off UAC as recommended in some posts.
Again - This problem is ONLY related to MICROSOFT ACCOUNTS, not local accounts.
I have put a batch file on the desktop with a "net use" statement in it to connect as a work around, but this is very annoying and truly unacceptable. Is there anyway to make this work seamlessly without running a batch file or something else where
the password exists on the PC in clear text?
I can't find other posts asking this question - am I the only one who is trying to do this? What memo did I miss?

I have test in my own environment and can normally map the network driver when logon as Microsoft account.
Do you check the option Reconnect at logon?
If you use Connect using different credentials, do you check the option Remenber my credentials?

Why can't I, a Domain Admin, see certain attributes of certain users.

I'm trying to run a powershell command that lets me figure out the last time users have set their password (on a Server 2008 R2 domain)

Some users, this works well... I get their passwordlastset data. Other users, the pwdLastSet is not returned to get-aduser and it doesn't format it into the passwordLastSet field. I'm in the domain admin and enterprise admin groups. The other admin here
sees the field for the users I can't see but is missing some users. In the AD Users and Group console the attribute for all the users is properly formatted.
I think its permissions related, but I'm not sure why it would block me from seeing that attribute. The one thing I think may be common to all the users I can see were created by me through the GUI. The users that i can't see properly were created using
the new-aduser powershell command by a service account that has rights to create users in only one OU.
Question, any reason that a domain admin shouldn't have access to all the attributes in the directory?

The user was created in the AD users and computers GUI. I then ran the delegate control wizard to grant the user create user and delete user access to the OU my users sit in.
The new-aduser command we run looks like this. I build the string below then connect to the domain controller to run it. There are no other commands run after this.

I was trying to download some albums to my IPod when I cam across a few albums within my cloud which say content not available for download?
Can someone please help with this issue. After I put my entire collection in the cloud I have packed all my CD's away and i really do not want to have to go through all the boxes to find the albums that fail.
This download also fails on my PC.
