Why can't we preview Ringtones before we buy?

I just bought one of a choice of about 6 versions of the tune I wanted - and it is awful! If I'd been able to preview
them I (a) might have picked a better sounding one, or (b) not parted with 99 pence for utter rubbish.
I'm very disgruntled and now I guess I have to resign myself to just having the poor choice of Ringtones already
loaded on my new iPhone 4.
Not happy!

I would indeed much prefer to make my own, if I could find a way.
I found various instructions posted on the internet, which didn't work.
When it came to the convert to aac bit, iTunes only recorded/captured the first chord
of the tune. Kept re-trying, but the same thing happened, then iTunes froze on me, so I gave up
and thought it would be easier to purchase one - only it is rubbish - absolutely awful!
Most of the instructions seem to be from around 2009 or before.
I've only got an iPhone 4 (but I am new to iPhone), but 2012 laptop and up-to-date software.
Been happy with my iPad but this iPhone now seem like a bad move to me - have already
had it exchanged in the first week of having it!
If I was buying an mp3 track from Amazon I would be able to listen to an excerpt before deciding to buy -
there seems to be no such thing on iTunes - unless I have missed it!

You have a balance on your account i.e. you've already redeemed the card onto it ? I'm using Dreamweaver MX 2004. I load up the program, it asks
me what file type I want to use, I choose CSS off the list.
It all loads up. At the moment I'm just testing to see how
things work so I copy examples from "

I know that it can't be the script (but I could be wrong, I still
don't know very much about all this.)
I save the file. I know that you have to do this with the
HTML files before you can preview them. But when I click on the
little globe thing which gives me the option to privew (or press
F12) , it's grayed out.
could someone please give me some suggestions on what the
problem might be? It would be greatly appreciated.

doing this, you create a css file (i.e. external cascading
style sheet).
Such files are code view only and can't be previewed in
design view, (there is nothing to preview).
An external style sheet does not produce anything visible, it
is just a collection of styles that
you can then apply to your html pages.
To apply the styles, create an html page, and from the css
panel, attach the style sheet to your page.

Why can't I preview my motion tween on the timeline?

I created a symbol and included a motion tween and it works perfectly (has the arrow), but when I try to play it on the timeline it doesn't play (you can only see the first frame of the symbol). When I test the movie the motion tween works fine. This never happened when I used Flash CS6 :S

In Flash Pro, Movieclip Symbols do not show the animation nested within them on Timeline and the full animation can only be previewed using Test Movie.
If you change the Symbol instance type to Graphic from the Properties Panel, you will be able the preview nested animation as well. (Just make sure that the frame span where your graphics symbol is placed is long enough to show the entire animation).

Why can't I preview edits in a browser before putting them live on the remote site?

Please help! I have inherited a website to edit and cannot seem to preview my edits without them going live first. When I click on "Live", the whole program crashes and I have to reopen it. When I click to "Preview in Browser" it asks me whether or not to save the files and puts them onto the remote site as well. I am not particularly web savvy and am learning by going. I'm using CS6 on a Macbook OS X Yosemite.

Why can't I preview indd files within InDesign's open file dialog box?

Hello all,
It is bad enough that Adobe doesn't add a plugin to preview any Adobe source file within Windows Explorer (well, except for PDF but I think Microsoft did that).
But I find it ridiculous that I cannot preview .indd source files inside InDesign's Open File dialog box. It just states, "No preview available". I am sure this failure is tied into what Windows can preview... still, not a good excuse!
This is also the same problem in both Illustrator and Photoshop.... neither Adobe program can preview their own file format!
WHY? OR How can I correct this?
[UPDATE: SageThumbs | SourceForge.net seems to partially work on many Photoshop files (works reasonably well as long as I limit the file size to 70mb), it doesn't seem to work on Illustrator files (despite the claim), and it doesn't work on InDesign.]

I think you all misunderstood.
I am referring to opening files *within* the Adobe software. Example: Inside InDesign, I click File > Open... I see a list of my .indd files and to the right is a window with the words, "Select a file to preview." If I select an .indd file, I think it is reasonable to assume that I will see a preview of the .indd file... but NO, I just see the message, "No preview available."
In my opinion, this is a failing of Adobe!

Why would I want to open a separate program just to see thumbnails? Sure Bridge has its uses when I want to look at a lot of different images but I am only talking about quickly seeing a thumbnail before I open a single file within either InDesign, Photoshop, or Illustrator.
Q. If Bridge can render thumbnails, why on Earth would Adobe not place the preview code into the open file dialog of each program?

Why can't I preview a pdf portfolio?

When I first heard about acrobat.com sharing possibilities I was thrilled. However, now I am not so sure it is the right thing for me anymore. If someone can verify that I am understanding this correctly:
I made a portfolio in acrobat and wanted to upload that to share with my class. However, once I go to the share site, it just gives me a 1 page generic icon telling me I need to download the pdf in order to see it best...I don't want them to have to download the pdf, I just wanted to share the portfolio...so where are all the 40 pdfs I placed into the portfolio?
I woulnd't mind upgrading to a premium membership if I can achieve the following:
- let me upload portfolios and send out the link to around 50-100 people at a time (I teach an InDesign class and would like to let student's see everyone's work)
- let them see the portfolio online without downloading it (these pdfs are interactive, so the audio/vidoe, rollovers etc need to stay intact)
- upload and store InDesign native files without converting them to pdf
Any input would be greatly appreciated!

Why can't I sync Ringtones to iPhone?

I got a new Macbook and dont have any of my stuff on my new computer. I have my iPhone backed up through iCloud and the only thing I want to do is sync some new ringtones from my computer to my iPhone. Can this be done?? I have my iTunes Wifi Sync set up, iCould set up, everything set up right. But when I sync my iTunes through Wifi it doesnt sync my ringtones....why not??!? And i dont wanna update my phone through my computer because then I will lose all the data on my iPhone because there is

Why can't i preview a photo book in iphoto 9?

I am unable to preview a photo book I created in iphoto 9. I am currently running snow leopard. I didn't have a problem until I upgraded my OS from tiger to snow leopard and upgraded to Iphoto 9. Iphoto always crashes on page two when assembling for either a preview or to buy a book. Is there any way to stop this from happening? I am beginning to think apple has gotten very sloppy on their "upgrades" as many people are running into various problems every single time the OS changes.

Other's have experienced the same problem and booting into Safe Mode allowed them to preview the book and order a copy. Why, don't know but if it works for you send a report to Apple via http://www.apple.com/feedback/iphoto.html describing the problem and the workaround.

Why can't I sync ringtones on my iphone with itunes? Using iOS7 and iTunes11.

I can't seem to find a way to sync my ringtones on to my iPhone. I'm syncing all ringtones. I've tried syncing selected ringtones with all selected. I've tried turning the phone off and back on, unplugged and replugged into my computer (Windows 7). No luck. I've Googled the issue and all I've found are items from 2011 or older. Help. An iPhone without custom ringtones is a terrible thing. lol.

P.S. I'm wonder if it is a problem with iTunes or with my phone?

Purchased two ringtones from Verizon Media Store. Text said successful purchase then same text said content removed because my Galaxy S3 does not support purchasing copyrighted content. What's gong on? I have always purchased ringtones from Verizon.

I'd be happy to clarify this problem for you. I'm sorry you were unable to purchase the ringtone. Some of our devices do not allow the ability to purchase ringtones through the VZW store. Since your phone will not allow this, you can purchase ringtones using other ringtone apps in the Play Store. I apologize that this feature is unavailable for your device.

I downloaded one from iTunes with no problem. Then tried to get another and cannot. Purchased a tone from iTunes using my computer, but it's now in my MUSIC library and I cannot move it.

The ONLY place to buy premade ringtones is from itunes store on your iphone.
What you bought on your computer is not a ringtone. It is a sound file that can be used as a ringtone. You would have to create the ringtone yourself. Google will find several ways to do this.
You can create a ringtone from most any song sound file.

Why can't I preview online vs download?

I have a new problem with file I uploaded today. Previously, I have uploaded and then been able to view pdf docs online.
However, for this last document, it says I cannot preview, it must be downloaded. This is surprising since it is actually smaller size than others I have uploaded.
Any thoughts on what is the cause and how I can get it to allow me to preview online (which I prefer to do so others I want to share with do not want to have to download)

Thank you for your post. Sometimes a preview cannot be created for a PDF. This is the case if the PDF contains special characters, or is a PDF portfolio or secure PDF - it's not necessarily related to the size of the file.
