Why can't we use debit card for Ask To Buy on iOS8?

Loving the family sharing in iOS 8 but one thing that I don't like is you have to add a CREDIT card in order to add a child?? I tried adding my 11 year old daughter and it told me I couldn't because I had a debit card on my account. I don't have any credit cards and don't plan on getting one. Why can't we use debit which is what I've been using since I've had my itunes account for years?

Debit cards are no longer accepted as a valid payment method in all countries, possibly because they aren't considered as safe as credit cards when using on sites that store the card's details. You've double-checked the debit card's details (it's registered to exactly the same name and address as on your iTunes account, and was issued by a bank in the country where you and your iTunes account are) ? Or do you have a credit card that you could use instead ?

Credit cards do need to be from the same country as your account, which may or may not apple, but if you're visiting from another country and trying to use, for example, a UK card in the US app store, it won't work.
Could you have typo'd a number? Or could the card be expired?

I don't think that debit cards are still accepted as a valid payment method - they are not listed on this page and there have been a number of posts recently about them being declined. You could try contacting iTunes support and see if they can help, but I don't think you will be able to use a debit card : http://www.apple.com/support/itunes/contact/ - click on Contact iTunes Store Support on the right-hand side of the page
Are iTunes gift cards available in your country ? They are not available in all, and they are country-specific (they can only be used in their country of issue), but if there you could possibly use them as your payment method.

Using a debit card in any online service where it stores your card is a bad idea in any case since if someone gains access to your account in the service, they can quickly drain your bank account. Credit cards limit your liability, as do prepaid iTunes cards.

My iPhone 4 says I have to use wifi in order to use my FaceTime and I was wondering why can I just use my AT&T data connection instead.Every other iPhone could use their FaceTime but the 4 cant.We have an update to be able to use both ?

Why can't I use a PIN for encryption?

I had to do a factory restore in order to accept the 4.4.4 update. Since then, I have tried to encrypt my device. Previously, my device was encrypted with a PIN instead of a password. The instructions clearly state you can use a PIN or a password, but I am unable to select PIN from the list. Is this a 4.4.4 issue?

We have 2 devices, a new mini iPad, and an iPod touch, one is my sons but both are registered in my name and account info. We put 2 $15 dollar codes in and it says $30 credit. When my son buys a song on his iPod, It still takes it out of credit card.. Why is it not using gift credits?

I have this question too. I have plenty of credit, yet it still shows a pending transaction on my credit card. I'm guessing/hoping it show the "pending" until its actually taken from the gift card, which may take 24-48 hours...this is usually the delay before receiving the email that states the transaction was made.
Can anyone confirm this? Or let us know what is really going on???

I purchased a droid1 and found out very quickly that my bluetooth COULD NOT BE USED WITH THE DROID OR VOICE COMMANDS-----IT IS NOT A HANDS FREE DEVICE!! I paired my bluetoot with the droid and expected to make calls as I did with my OLDER phone but NOPE-----IT WILL NOT WORK-------YOU HAVE TO "TOUCH" THE DROID TO MAKE A CALL BEFORE YOU CAN TALK VIA BLUETOOTH! WHAT ARE THESE PEOPLE THINKING? A basic function (AND LEGAL) like voice command calling wasn't put into these driods? PLeaase..........what--why-----how-----could they overlook such a basic and legal requirement (MOST STATS REQUIRE HANDS FREE OPERATION)..............I'm baffled and extremely disappointed because I can not use any of these 'smartphones'=droids.
Be very careful before you buy one without being informed of this flaw--------the DROIDS are not HANDS FREE DEVICES--------sadly.

I had the same shock when purchasing 2 new Droids less than a month ago. The store rep emphatically told me that Bluetooth dialing worked but of course that was wrong. The Froyo 2.2 version corrects that -- if you haven't received an update notice from Verizon you can get it here: http://www.droid-life.com/2010/08/03/manual-android-2-2-update-for-motorola-droid/ and do it yourself. it's pretty simple.

If you select none and try to make a purchase, you will again be prompted to enter this information. I would like to use my Apple Pay account to pay for Apps/tunes, but that doesn't seem possible. It seems this negates one of the primary benefits of Apple Pay, which is to make purchases without turning over your credit card information to the merchant, in this case Apple. I know you can pay with Touch ID, but that is only authoring payment from your credit card information you have on file.
