Why cannot create any HD sequence and capture HDV
Hi, I just started to use mac to edit video.
I am using Premiere Pro CS5 with my macbook pro
When I open Premiere, I found that I am not allow to selected capture HDV
And then, NO any HD sequence can be selected.
Does anyone get the same problem?
Please tell me what should I do... thanks

Do you have the trial, or the full-paid version?
For the trail, Ann's link will tell the full story.
If the full-paid version, did you do the updates?
If so, it is likely that your full-paid version has reverted to trail. This happened to some in CS4, and it appears that the update trial Bug might be back in CS5.
If your full-paid version HAS reverted:
Deactivate, if possible, and Uninstall
Run Adobe Clean Script CS5 several times, rebooting between each run
Reinstall PrPro, and immediately update, before launching the program

Sequence and Capture Settings Help Needed
Hi there...
Need some advice on setting my Sequence and Capture Settings in FCP 6.0.4.
I have a Sony HDR-SR1 (AVCHD) and I know I how to bring the footage in through "Log and Transfer", but I'm not sure what I should be bring the footage in as.
Should I capture with HDV, or can I bring the footage in as ProRes 422 (HQ)? Once captured, should the Sequence be set to HDV - 1080i/60, or should it be set to the ProRes setting? Or, does AIC still play a factor in this and I should choose that?
Correct me if I'm wrong, but if I bring in as HDV, the file size will be very large. But if I bring it in at ProRes 422, the filesize will be smaller, but how much will I lose in compression?
Also, does anyone know if I'm stuck shooting 1080i/60 or can I get 1080i/50 or 720p/24/25/30?The orginal footage is not DV, it is DVCPRO 25. I am capturing in the DV setting because of the length of the footage. The DVCPRO deck doesn't have a firewire output.

Sequence and Capture Settings Match, Still Need To Render
I am capturing my video footage through a AJA Kona board using the SDI input. I have set my capture setting in FCP to 525 29.97 DV, and have set my sequence setting to match, also 525 29.97 DV. Yet when I overwrite the footage to the the sequence it needs to be rendered. I was under the impression that if the sequence and capture settings match I would not have to render. Is this not true?
The orginal footage is not DV, it is DVCPRO 25. I am capturing in the DV setting because of the length of the footage. The DVCPRO deck doesn't have a firewire output.

in sequence setting - should frame size box remain ntsc dv (3:2) and then just check 16x9 anamorphic box?
in capture settings - frame size should it be ntsc dv (3:2) and then check 16x9 anamorphic box?
thanks in advanceGo to the menu Final Cut Pro > Easy Set Up and from the drop down menu choose USE: DV-NTSC Anamorphic.
Click Setup.
That will make all the correct settings at once.

So you need to upgrade your MDT installation. After that, make sure to install the ConfigMgr integration from the start screen (menu)

Oracle jdbc creating a table, sequence and trigger
I'm trying to create a table with a sequence and with a trigger for that sequence. When I do this within Oracle Express edition I have the following SQL statements. Which DO run correctly inside Oracle Express using the same user I log in with JDBC.

So now what I do is put each of these into a List of Strings and execute 1 by one like this:

But I get an error with the trigger statement. "Error with Oracle command: ORA-00942: table or view does not exist"
It seems to me that Oracle has not yet seen the new table at this point. or maybe my user can create tables but not triggers? If that's the case why did it work in the express application itself?

If it was a rights problem, you'd get a different ORA error stating that, it won't silently fail.
Lets not assume it is anything difficult, perhaps there is simply a typo in a name somewhere? -
After Installation Thunderbird cannot create any e-mailaccount in Windows 8.1

I have installed Thunderbird on my recently installed Win 8.1 system. TB installes, opens, but then I cannot create anything else but a Newsgroupaccount. The wizard for creating a new, or importing existing e-mailaccounts does not appear at all. The column for Accounts, the list with the Messages shows up, but remains completely blanc not showing anything at all but a Grey field. I've tried copying my Profile folder from my 'old' Linux machine, and the addressbook has been copied allright. But I cannot write any message, as no single e-mailaccount has been created, cannot be created, no matter how i approach this menu.
I have de-installed and removed everything, also in registry, and installed again. No changes. Same problem.
is it possible that my Win 8.1 sytem might be the culprit?

Cannot create any PDF docs with Acrobat Pro 7.0
I have Adobe Acrobat Pro 7.0 running on Microsoft XP. All of a sudden, I cannot
convert any documents into PDFs. I have tried converting Microsoft Word
docs and those from other applications. It is important to stress that I
have managed to do this many times in the past, but for some reason Acrobat
has suffenly stopped doing this. I have tried 'printing' to PDF and
'converting' to PDF. Each time I get the following error message on a
'Notepad':

I have clicked on 'Detect & Repair' under the 'Help' menu button in Adobe
Acrobat and this supposedly did some form of reinstalling/fixing (without
the need for a CD to be inserted into the computer) and asked me to turn off
my computer & then turn it back on.
Having done this, I still cannot get docs to convert to PDF.
I have not added any particular hardware or software to my computer in
recent times. Apart from the PDF conversion, everything else in Adobe
Acrobat Pro seems to run fine. I can read all documents etc.
Can you help me?

AlanOK, I've got everything to work - so long as I 'Print' docs to PDF rather than clicking on the PDF conversion icons (if I click on these icons, I just get an error).
But if I print to PDF, everything now works - I've even managed to solve the Word problem - I think it was a faulty Word doc for some reason. I found a useful document which told me how to set up all the settings for Acrobat Distiller (http://mydocs.epri.com/docs/CorporateDocuments/WorkingWithEPRI/CreatingAcrobatPDFs.pdf).
If you know how to make the PDF conversion icons work (it must be something simple) that'll save me having to print each time, it would be great, but I can survive without this. -
Cannot create any model in Designer 6i due to errors

I have installed Designer 6i without any errors and warnings. I can create workareas and folders. But when I try to create an application system and any kind of models the errors will occur.
I have seen the similar message in this forum but it has been unreplied.

I've shot and captured 35 hours of footage originally shot in HD (output in standard def 16:9) using Final Cut 5.0. After loading it and spending hours organizing it, I found my Sequence Present is 3:2 - Also the Aspect Ratio is set to NTSC-CCIR 601/DV Anamorphic 16:9 is off. Compressor is DV/DVCPro NTSC. Pixel Ratio is also NTSC-CCRI 601/DV.
Capture Preset is NTSC (3:2) Anamorphic is unchecked. Compressor is DV-NTSC. input is DCR TRV 900. I captured from a Z1U.
Can anyone tell me- aside from being a dumb *** in the first place- how I can redeem my project> ? I need this to be for professional broadcast (standard def, 16:9) - I'm on deadline and want to avoid recapturing. If I DO need to recapture, can retain markings/ subclips?

What settings did you use on the Z1U? (HDV, 1080i, 30fps?)
Did you use the capture preset mentioned in your post to capture the material? (check in the browser or item properties)
If that's the case, you have an offline version of your material and you will have to recapture the whole thing (use the HDV capture preset) or online your final edit (basically only recapturing the material used in the final edit)
I'm not sure how the online process will work in this case as I only have experience with PAL. It could prove to be tricky but someone here in the discussions forum must know if and how it's possible.

Final cut xprs 4 and capturing HDV from tape
Hi all
I just tried for the first time to get FCXP4 to capture from my Canon HV20 in hidef and the software didn't do what the manual says it would do.
Manual tells me to create a new bin in the browser and then hit command 8 and instead of the DV capture window it would start a dialog box to capture HDV.
Well, it doesn't. It just says I don't have a video device connected.
Even though the same camcorder is captured by the same software just fine in standard def. HELP!Do you have any other devices connected? How is the camera connected? What settings are on the media? What settings are you using in FCE? Did you change the settings before you initiated capture? Does system profiler see the camera?

Unknown whereabouts of Log and Captured HDV 1080 60i footage?
Final Cut 5.1 user: I am having problem with my Final Cut Pro software after making some adjustments after listen to a Final Cut tutorial on Lynda.com.
Now, when I Log and capture new footage directly from my camera (Sony HDR FX-1), the footage does not appear in the logging bin, which I created, and I designated as the project's logging Bin. However, the footage is appearing on my Lacie hard drive. In a folder I designated as the project folder.
Help... I'm shooting a wedding this weekend.
Thanks!First set the correct drive. Final Cut Pro > System Settings. I always just set the drive and do not designate a folder. FCP will take care of that by putting media in a Capture Scratch folder, in a folder named the same as your project. Now, in FCP you should be able to set the correct logging bin.
