Why cannot I install Photoshop 7.0 in windows 7?

I just purchased my new computer that has Windows7 setup. But I cannot install my PS 7.0. Is there a reason?

Whgat error does it give exactly? You may simply need to install some legacy Microsoft Installer component or or other stuff. That aside, simply realize that you are trying to install a 12 year old software on a contemporary operating system and that this may never work due to compatibility issues.

you might be able to (using compatibility mode) but you probably can't activate (if ps 7 even needs activation).
in any case, you can use ps cs2: Error: Activation Server Unavailable | CS2, Acrobat 7, Audition 3

Cannot finish installing photoshop error code DF024

Im sorry, Im new here, I have a problem with installing (or finishing to install) Photoshop CC... I have CC for teams bought and Ive tried to install it on my home Mac, to work from home too, Every app was installed properly, but Photoshop not.
Does anyone has a solution for that?

Thank you for your response, but otherwise it did not help me, I've tried it. today at 2 AM Ive solved it with safe mode on Mac (Command + S, when starting) and just made installation of Photoshop begin. When it written error message again I started Terminal and written on it: sudo chmod 777 (path of folder in which was problematic file) and press return, it will need to type password, so type it and press return, then in Creative Cloud app press "try again" or "continue" (I have it in CZ lang., so I dont know, what's written in English) and that's all! It may write during that installation just another similar error, so with same propositions, another path and click to continue installation until its done!

How do I install Photoshop 6 on MacBook (Windows & Academic version)

I have been attempting to install Adobe Photoshop 6, made for Windows and academic version. The Mac system always asks me "which application to open this stuff with?" I don't really have an answer to that question. I've discovered a mysterious and cranky program named Disk Utility, in Applications/Utilities. I just am so ignorant about this. (I am a new Mac user, and a multi-media student and artist). A big reason why I bought this laptop, was so that I could do much artistic and photographic work with this thing! I've seen these things called "DMG" files. What the heck is that? Very frustrated! Any help from a knowledgeable Mac person, (knowing Adobe would be a plus!) would be VASTLY appreciated

You need to buy a Mac-Version off Adobe Photoshop!

Maybe you might also consider to start using a newer version off Photoshop!
It is not possible to run Windows applications on a Mac and vise versa!
The .dmg files are image files! Just like a .iso file on a PC. Most of the applications are packaged in these images. By double clinking on them OSX will mount them on your desktop. Then you can drag-and-drop the application to the Application folder on the Macintosh HD to install them. After installing you can unmount the image and delete the .dmg file. You can see them like virtual installation disk's! Disk Utility is just the application which handles the mounting and unmounting off the .dmg file's!

How can I install Photoshop 5.0 with Windows Vista?

I have Photoshop 5.0 LE and have tried and tried to install it on windows vista. Does anyone have suggestions
on how I can install it. My system Type is x64-based PC and my system directory is C:\windows\system 32. Any suggestions are welcome, I will try everything that I haven't already tried. I previously had Adobe Photo Deluxe 3.o Deluxe Home Edition and I loved it, but it no longer works on XP or Vista. Thanks.

I don't think you will have much luck with that ancient program.
Why not go for Photoshop Elements? At least it's from the present century!
There are also free basic image editing applications.

Can I install Photoshop 7.0 for Windows onto my new MacBook?

Ages ago I purchased Photoshop 7.0 for Windows. When my laptop died I decided to change to a MacBook, not even considering I might not be able to reinstall it.
Well I put the CDROM in, it recognises something is there, but I can't get it to do anything.
Is it possible to install it on my Mac or do I need to purchase some kind of upgrade?
What are my options basically.
I have it for personal use only, bought the education version as a student, so I don't want to spend hundreds replacing it.
I have tried some other photoshop-like apps and one of them was set up almost the same as Photoshop (Pixelmator I think it was) but it has stopped working now and just crashes on me.
I use layers a lot so I need something with this capability.

Install Photoshop CS2, which I bought several years ago, on a new computer with Windows 8.1? Adobe uploaded me a version that doesn't require activation, but it doesn't work!

The App is sitting there, but when I click on it, the box says something is wrong with my username, password or activation and the app will now close. I don't know how to try to download with compatibiity mode. Any clues?

I'm trying to install Photoshop Elements 10 onto a Windows XP sp3 PC. The installer is giving me an error with data13.cab
Have error checked the hard drive
Have defragged the hard drive
Have tried install from internal DVD drive
Have tried install from network copy of the install DVD (made from a different DVD drive)
Have tried install logged into Windows as a brand new user account.
Installer can't get Element_StarFrameCircle.psd, although windows seems happy enough with the cab file.
Have downloaded trial version from Adobe website but that wouldn't run either (exe file is corrupt, but this is mentioned as a possibility on the web site)
Any ideas?

Stuard_Hubbard I would recommend following the steps listed in Error 1311, 1335, or 2350 "Source file not found...data1.cab" when installing Adobe products | Windows. The error is indicating there is either a problem with your installation media or the Windows Installer Service installed on your computer. Please feel free to respond to this thread if you have any questions about the steps listed within the document.

What do you do when you forget your password? I am trying to install photoshop and before a window comes up saying it's locked and I have to put in my password to continue. What password and what do I do if I don't remember it!!!

Trying to install photoshop. I get a window that comes up with a lock icon under the Adobe icon and it wants me to give the computer permission to add photoshop so it's asking for a password. I don't know which password it wants and I fear I have forgotten my main password for this computer!
I see to change your password, you have to know your old one. Any help out there?

The Username and password required is that of an Admin User.
If you only ever created your original account, that is your account and your password.
If you auto-login, and never use that password so that you can't remember it, Your Mac is incapable of telling you -- it was encrypted as it was entered the first time, and is never stored "in the clear".
You can change the Admin password, if you can remember your Apple-ID and password.
OS X Mountain Lion: If your administrator password was not accepted

For Fun I Installed Photoshop CS5.1 on Windows 8

I am running the Windows 8 Developer Preview in an x64 virtual machine, and it's proving to be an interesting experience... Microsoft hasn't nearly worked out the weirdness of switching between the Aero desktop and the Metro interface yet.
But anyway, just for grins I installed Photoshop CS5.1 on it. The Photoshop installer worked its magic in about 10 minutes, and sure enough it comes up and runs.
It's interesting; Photoshop's System Info readout shows "Windows NT"...

if you've had a cs4 (trial or otherwise) previously installed, run the cleaner (http://www.adobe.com/support/contact/cscleanertool.html) and restart your computer.
then install using compatibility mode and running as administrator.

You might want to attempt an install in Safe Mode. It seems that something in your Start folder is calling IE, though it is probably in the background. Or, you could go to Processes in Task Manager, find IE and End Process. You might get a complaint from whatever program called it up originally, but should be able to "end" it.
Do not know if CS3 will install in Safe Mode (most programs will), but it might be worth a try.
Then, take Curt's and John's advice for free tech support.

I used to have Photoshop CS4 on my iMac and it is up to date with all recent software, etc and plenty of memory. I have available license as well. When I reinstall I get error message and won't let me reinstall but not enough info to know why.
