If you mean from iTunes Match without having them on your hard drive, then that's because they aren't on your hard drive.

  • Why cant I burn CDs one after the other?

If I burn a playlist to a CD then try to burn another straight after itunes (10) just keeps asking me to insert a blank CD.
It will only burn another if I restart iTunes. I've had macs for years and this seems familiar to me, I think its happened before with my Mac book Pro.
I'm running 10.6.6 on a fairly new iMac 3ghz duo.
Any way around this age old problem?

  • Why cant I burn my purchased music onto a new dvd?

    Hi,
I wanted to make a backup of the music I have purchased from the Music store. I have not burnt any backup CD’s or DVDs at all yet.
There are 134 songs with 697.3MB. (This doesnt mean much to me to be honest!) As this is too much for a CD I thought I would burn a DVD.
As per the ITs “help” instructions “to create a data CD or Burn DVD” I went into Itunes preferences and selected the advanced botton, then “Burning” header, then Disc Format and selected DVD and Preferred speed tab to 2x. I have also tried maximum speed.
The brand new DVD is a Panasonic DVD Ram 3X speed 4.7GB 120 mins rewritable.
All songs were checked and were in the “Purchased folder” I selected ‘burn disc’ from Itunes window and put the blank DVD in as requested...’checking media’ appears in the iTunes window.......
the DVD is continually ejected with no explanation as to why!
I have also “highlighted’ all of the songs and completed the same procedure as above with the same result.
I tried moving the selected playlist to a new folder with no joy again.
    What am I doing wrong?
    Thx George UK

    Well now I know!!

    SuperDrive: Ejects DVD-RAM Discs
The SuperDrive, included with some Power Mac G4 and iMac (Flat Panel) computers, does not read DVD-RAM discs.
    Symptom
The DVD drive ejects every DVD-RAM disc, but accepts DVD-ROM and DVD-R discs, which appear on the desktop without any issues.
    Products affected
Power Mac G4 (Digital Audio) with SuperDrive
Power Mac G4 (QuickSilver) with SuperDrive
Power Mac G4 (QuickSilver 2002) with SuperDrive
    iMac (Flat Panel) with SuperDrive
    Solution
The SuperDrive does not read DVD-RAM discs and will eject them. They will not appear on the desktop, nor will the Finder display an alert box or error message. For more information about the discs that are compatible with the SuperDrive, see article 58770 "CD-RW and SuperDrive: Specifications and Usage Information."

4.7 GB is the size in decimal - the actual size in binary - which is what your computer shows - is about 4.2 GB.

hmmm. i went to Toshiba to check for any available updates for your Satellite ... but they split out the downloads by subcategories for the A105, and so i'm not sure what your precise model is.
here's a link through to their technical support ... if you plug in the precise model number, are there any available updates for your particular type of A105?

  • Why, after switching DVD player, can my macbook still not burn CDs?

    Hey Apple,
I wanted to ask you one thing:
My macbook Pro is a little over two years old, and I am loving it. Although, it has been a couple of months that my DVD player is not working smoothly. I went to the Genius Bar, since I couldn't even burn CDs - which is my biggest concern-, and I left it there so they could switch the DVD player completely. Now, as I try to burn CDs again, it says Medium write error again. I want to know why. I have read previous discussions, but I just bought these blank CDs, and they used to work perfectly before.
Have any idea why this is happening?

  • Writing Disc Error: why won't my iMac burn CDs

I have a early 2010 iMac intel running on OS X Mountain Lion and as of late I have not been able to burn cds from my iTunes. I continuoosly get an error message: "Burn failed becuase of medium write error", I have tried different brands of CD-R's all with the same result. I have slowed the burn speed to below 8x and that worked only for a little while whereas I eventually got down to 1x and now I cant burn anything. In addition, I have noticed when I put a cd into my computer, the drive sounds like a rocket ship prepairing to take off. Is this a problem for anyone else? Will I have to replace my disk drive?

Yes it is the Drive itself. It is failing and needs to be replaced or you need to buy an External DVD burner that connects to a USB port. Any make and model will work. It does not have to branded and sold by Apple for it to work on your iMac.

I have tried that , and the results are the same. Is it the drive itself?

  • Why Don't Burned Audio CDs Retain Title & Track Info?

I tried to burn an audio CD several ways, and it still won't retain the CD title that I have assigned, or the track names.
When inserted into other computers, the CD is called Audio CD and the tracks are called Track 01, Track 02...
What's worse is that when you insert these CDs into other Macs, iTunes tries to guess the name of the CDs & tracks, and since the audio isn't on iTunes (they are just boring lectures that were recorded here), iTunes tries to assing some crazy title to the CD & tracks.
I have checked the box that says "include CD text" on both iTunes and Toast, and this still keeps happening.
Why can't the CDs remember the names of the tracks, or at the very least, the names of the CDs?

    You're welcome.
We all need someone else to point out the obvious from time to time.

  • Why iMovieHD? When you cant even burn in HD?

Theres my question. I plan on getting http://www.sonystyle.com/is-bin/INTERSHOP.enfinity/eCS/Store/en/-/USD/SYDisplayProductInformation-Start?ProductSKU=HDRFX1&Dept=cameras&CategoryName=dcc_ DICamcordersHighDefinitionVideo . Which from what I've been reading is great (WILL THAT CAMERA BE compatible with imovie?!) But I been doing a lot of thinking, and just figured something out. Whats the use in recording in HD, and then editing in HD when you cant even burn in HD?

Whats the use in recording in HD, and then editing in HD when you cant even
    burn in HD?
I suppose a tougher user question would be this: I have an HDV camera. Why does iMovie force me to edit all my projects in DV instead of HDV? The answer: It doesn't. It lets you shoot and edit your HDV for delivery tomorrow.
So that's the reason iMovie HD is important to me: When I get an HDV camera, at some time I WILL be able to burn my iMovie HDV project onto an HD DVD.
We can't expect all the hardware and software for recording, editing and burning HD DVDs to all arrive on the same day. (Even if it were today, there still wouldn't be a way to play the HD DVD on an HDTV.)
But after spending hours, days or weeks working on an iMovie project, I want to know that my HDV project to be ready for HD when all the other pieces come together. Our iMovie HDV projects WILL be ready, because we're ahead of the product delivery curve. In one, two or three years I won't have to trash all the work I've done and start over.
What can we do today? Burn a widescreen SD DVD of the HDV project.
It's a win/win, but some of the winning will be in the future.

  • TS1436 I cant burn CDS using itunes but burns using windows media. itunes up to date what now?

I cant burn cds using itunes but burns in window media.itunes up to date what now?

Join the crowd. I was thinking of going back to a previous version, but had heard that could be a problem. Fortunately, I have more than one computer and things work fine there. I'm thinking it could be the burner in the problem computer, but it was working just fine before the upgrade...
