WHY CANT I CONVERT PDF TO WORD

OK I GIVE UP. I BROUGHT UP MY NEWSLETTER, TO THE RIGHT IT SAID COVERT FILE TOO WORD, I PUT IN FILE NAME CLICKED ON EXPORT TO WORD.DOC, AND I GOT AN ERROR MSG. WHAT GIVES, I PAYED FOR SUBSCRIPTION FOR ONE YEAR AND NOW I CANT EXPORT. I'M SO UPSET.

Hi Mary,
I can understand why you're frustrated. I just peeked at your account, and everything seems to be OK there. It sounds like you're trying to convert from within Reader. What happens when you sign in directly at cloud.acrobat.com/exportpdf?
Please try that, and if it still doesn't work, write back and let us know exactly what error message you're getting, so we know how best to proceed.

I was able to replicate the issue at my end.
It seems to me that the issue is with the way the PDF has been created.
It seems that the fonts are not embedded correctly.
Please post your query in Acrobat forums for further support & troubleshooting the font issue as it might be a bug.

This is not a feature of Adobe Reader. You'll need either Acrobat or a subscription to one of the web-based services that Adobe offers (like PDF Pack) to do it.

Word 2013 uses its own pdf creator engine as far as I know. The step I performed were:
1 - In the save settings I told word to embed fonts (sorry for the language, I have the Italian client)
2 - Export from Word -> Save As -> .pdf adding also the table of contents/index
N.B. I cannot use PDF/A, and in any case it doesn't embed the font
A working solution is to use Acrobat XI to convert it or print with Adobe PDF printer, results:
The problems are 2:
1 - It doesn't create any bookmark and doesn't create links from the table of images to the linked images
2 - Images, also with the preset "High Quality Printing" customized using "No compression", are really ugly and if you zoom a bit more than 100% they totally be s**t. It wasn't that way with PDF created by word.
In the end, or I find they way to open the pdf created by word and embedd the missing font, or I find a way to make Acrobat XI creating bookmarks from the word file.
Suggestion?

I have been converting PDFs to Word or Excel for several years but lately every time I try an error message comes up saying "an error occurred while trying to AdobeExport PDF online", does anyone know why?

Na transformação de um arquivo editado em PDF para transformação em Excxel, noto que essa transformação não esta sendo feita para uma planilha do Excel (13). exemplo. Na planilha em PDF o valor é de R$ 25,00. Na transformação para o Excell 13, Esta constando 2.500. Quando abre essa planilha em PDF para fins de Impressão, ela é toda normal para uma planilha de Excell. Mas, quando faço a transformação de PDF para o Excel, distorce toas as colunas, apresentando um titulo do PDF abrangendo mais colunas. Since you mention a free trial, I'm guessing that you have an Acrobat trial (Adobe doesn't offer free trials of the Acrobat.com online services).
If you do have Acrobat, you can use the Save As command in that application to save directly to Word format.

Apparently, the basic compatibility is
DOC files - Word 97 onwards
DOCX files - Word 2007 onwards (add on for Word 2003 available)

Can someone help please. I can't seem to convert PDF to word anymore. I login on the Adobe Reader, select the PDF I want converted and then click convert. It gives me the following error "An error occurred while trying to access the service". This has been happening for a few days now. Anyone know a solution to this? I use this service a lot therefore would appreciate any help.

I keep submitting the same problem and keep getting exactly the same response, which is not helpful. My problem is this: for over a year I have been converting .pdf documents to Word by clicking on Tools with a .pdf document open in Adobe Reader, then clicking on Convert. After a brief waiting signal, I am told to download and save the document. Perfect. But recently, every time I try to do exactly the same thing I get the message that says, "An error occurred while signing in."
I have followed this advice multiple times:
Do you get that error when you try to convert a file from within Reader? If so, please try this:
Choose Edit > Preferences (Windows) or Adobe Reader > Preferences (Mac OS).
Click Adobe Online Services on the left side.
Sign out of our Adobe ID and sign back in.
Try to convert your document again.
THIS PROCESS DOESN'T CHANGE ANYTHING. I JUST KEEP ON GETTING THE ERROR MESSAGE.
If you continue to have trouble, please verify that you can access the service via the web interface. To do this:
Open a browser and navigate to http://exportpdf.acrobat.com/signin.html
Try to log in with your Adobe ID (email address) and password.
Once logged in, follow the on-screen prompts to convert a file.
THIS WORKS, BUT WHY SHOULD I HAVE TO GO THROUGH ALL THESE STEPS WHEN I AM ALREADY IN A .PDF DOCUMENT WITH A "TOOLS" PANEL TELLING ME I CAN DO IT FROM THERE. Converting pdf to Word 2003 in Acrobat 9 Pro

I am using Acrobat 9 Pro. I want to convert pdfs to Word 2003. I have followed the instructions to export to Word, but when I get to the dialog box that selects the conversion method, I choose Flowing, which is recommended, and click OK, and I get an error message that my PDF document may be corrupt. This happens with every pdf, whether it is a form downloaded from the internet or a text document I have created myself. If I try to convert to RTF instead, it makes the "conversion", but in doing so, it creates a file containing an image that is not editable -- it does not create a plain text, editable file.
Is the problem that I am using Word 2003? Word 2003 is not on the list of file formats to which the pdf can be exported, but when I get to that screen, I choose Workshare PDF in Word (which I believe I read somewhere is the correct choice for conversion to Word 2003) as my selection and it gets me to the "conversion method" screen (which gets me to the corruption error message). Again, even if I choose rtf, I do not get an editable document.
Any ideas???

Something to try -
Export the PDF to RTF.
Open the RTF file with Word Pad.
Save As (perhaps to a new filename -- 'something_bis.rtf')
Open this file with MS Word.
Not particularly surprising that the PDF you posted behaves poorly when 'worked' with Acrobat.
It is an output of Ghostscript.
Compounding the awkwardness of export is the fact that the PDF is not a Tagged PDF.
A significant raison d'etre for Tagged PDF is to support export of PDF content to a word processor application.

Error when I sign in to the Convert PDF to Word feature

When I sign in to the Convert PDF to Word feature, after I enter my password I get a message "An error occurred while signing in" and the feature locks up, giving the same message if I use the "convert" button, can anyone help with this. Adobe Support sent 3 emails to reset my password all of which timed out before I could get to them. I have changed my password and it is still the same. Help please.

Please let me know if you have tried converting any other PDF to word with Reader.
Alos, please sign up at "https://cloud.acrobat.com/" using your Adobe ID credentials. Click on 'ExportPDF' tab and upload the PDF that you want to convert to Word.
Let me know if this converts fine.
