Why cant I open any messages or emails from my Hotmail account when using Firefox browser but works fine using IE browser

When I open my Hotmail account while using Firefox as my browser I am unable to open any email in both Inbox and Junk. I can reload either one and it will sometimes work for a short time. However if I switch to Internet Explorer browser it all works great.

Had this problem for quite a while but found a work-a-round. I click anywhere in the text I want to delete and insert any character. I am then able to block and delete any text I want to. It's been working great.

I am having a problem printing emails from my Hotmail account when I am using Mozilla Firefox as my browser. When I click on the Print icon above the email and then proceed to print, the output on my Canon Pixma 830 printer is in extremely small type.

I am not sure about all those installed plugins you have listed below.
I know that I can always copy the text of my email and paste it into a Word file to be printed, but that is a hassle, and the output is not quite the same as when I print directly from the Web.

interesting that my gmail account does work perfectly.

this may or may not help - but give it a try. On a forum some were reporting that talk21 is now under the yahoo umbrella. below are the steps this use listed. (This was an android forum, but the email settings should be the same. In short it looks like their server names have changed. An existing account may have simply been forwarded - but if you are reinstalling, it may want a clean install to the right servers.) Pay particular attention to the server names and port settings. (this thread was started based on a discussion of Imap vs pop - you are already an Imap person - so ignore that part)

why settle for pop3, when IMAP works with talk21 and not only does mail get pushed out faster with IMAP, but when you click refresh it will be received faster than pop3. The other advantage is subfolders are also supported with IMAP but cant be seen with POP3. This mail feature works with my android eclair & hero phone and the settings are exactly the same for win mobiles also (not tested). The mail setting up roadmap is the same from what i can remember once in the mail feature for win mobi.
This is what you need to do to setup Talk21 email with IMAP.
Incoming server settings
IMAP server - imap.mail.yahoo.com
Port - 143
Security type - none
Outgoing Server settings
SMTP server - smtp.mail.yahoo.com
Port - 25
Security type - none Also important note - Enable 'require sign-in'
and enter your talk21 username and password The End...works a treat for me p.s. Its only taken me 3 years to work it out with win mobile and recently with android. Finally got it to work...hope this helps all the talk21 users out there. if there are any other similar posts out there with no answer...dont forget to mention my name when passing this post around.

I should say if u could try to keep this simple as I am by no means a computer wiz!. Having said that I have a Verizon account & friend's of mine have AOL but for some reason we can not send email to each other as it keeps coming back.
My question is why is this? I love Verizon but have never had this with any of the other providers I had. Is there something I need to turn off? & if so what & how?. I'm really lost as to why I can't send nor get email from AOL. If anyone could explain it but in a way I can understand it this would be great!.

After recently updating my iPhone, all the emails from my hotmail account keeping coming through on my phone. I have opened all the emails from that account so I don't understand why they keep coming to my phone unopened. Also I have tried deleting and re-adding the email account a number of times but it still won't stop sending them through. How can I stop this?

You can share the same Apple ID in
Settings > iTunes & App Store > Apple ID: here
But for all other Apple services like:
FaceTime, iMessage, iCloud, etc, one of you should use a different Apple ID.

Are you sure PDF won't work? It should as what you're trying to do is pretty much what it is designed for (PDF - Portable Document Format). On a Mac anywone who receives the file should be able to see it in all its page layout glory by using the app Preview or Adobe Reader. Same on a PC, the file should be viewable as a PDF file using Adobe Reader and probably some other viewer (don't use PCs so not sure what other apps).
What application are you creating the file in and are you sure you're exporting it correctly in PDF format, fonts and images embedded?

I don't understand, what on the left side of the screen? If you tried to verify a second email address, you should be either seeing "verified" or "verification email sent". The second email address may already have even verified for a different Apple ID.

Why cant I open any of my older PDFs with the newest version 11

When I install the latest version i can no longer open any of my older PDFs It just hangs on opening and does nothing for several minutes until I finally just close the window.
This is on a windows 7 64 bit machine. My only solution is uninstall the 11 and reinstall the older 9 which will open the files just fine.

I am in the UK and had a similar problem. Ii eventually found the problem was due to my BT Home Hub Router. Not sure where you live, but of you are in the UK, this might work for you.

There's an issue related to the BT homehub that is providing a hostname that is "syntactically incorrect" for several smtp server.
Here's how you can fix it.
Using your internet browser, go to the address "192.168.1.254
- Follow instructions to reset your password if asked.
- Then go to "Settings", then "Advanced Settings" and "home network"
You will see there all the devices that are connected or that has been connected before. It's gonna be easyer if yout computer is the only one connected.
Your computer should have a name like "unknown-xx:xx:xx:xx:xx ...
Click on this name, chose another name without any special characters, like "macbook" for exemple.
And then click on "apply"
- restart your computer.
That should fix the issue.

When I delete an email from my hotmail account in the 'mail' application on my MacBook Pro, it is not deleted from the same 'mail' application on my iPhone 4s which my hotmail account has also been added. I thought my emails were synced over iCloud?

It is so frustrating because I cannot understand what is wrong. When I add an event to my calender on my iPhone it appears in my calender on my MacBook which is perfect and very convenient. The same thing occurs with reminders; everything syncs perfectly here. However when I delete an email from my MacBook from the 'mail' appliaction it doesn't delete from the same built-in application on my iPhone. This is extremely frustrating as I have to delete the same email twice on two different devices. I'd appreciate any feedback that would help resolve this problem!

Calendars (and contacts) can "sync" between your MBP and your iPhone through iCloud because they really live on the iCloud servers and the two devices are clients. iCloud can accomplish much the same trick for email messages because the email really resides on iCloud email servers.
If the email resides on some other server, that server is responsible for whatever syncing will be done. IMAP servers like the iCloud servers are built for such syncing; other mail servers may or may not be. iCloud would not be involved with email other than iCloud email.
I understand Hotmail has been changing how their email servers are accessed. Check with Hotmail support for any changes you may need to make to keep up.

My email from my hotmail account will not download.

I get the messages "email not downloaded" & "connection to server failed". This is a recent problem. I have had the iPad since Nov. and email has worked fine up until now.

I tried the reboot, and it did not fix the problem. However, I did go into settings under "Fetch new data" then "Advanced" and changed my settings on my hotmail and yahoo accounts from "push" to "manual". Now I am getting my emails from hotmail again. not sur why but it worked.
