Why Central Process Schulding?

Hi All,
Client is using SAP 4.6 c and  they want to implement SAP Central Process Schulding .
So i have some questions about CPC.
1)What does the functionality consist of?
2)Benefits of implementing such functionality with respect to SM36 SM37?
3)Pre-requisites to such implementation?
Regards
Trilochan

Hi Trilochan,
Two versions of CPS are available:
- a NetWeaver integrated version, requiring a NetWeaver 7.0 or higher Java stack somewhere
- a standalone version, not requiring any NetWeaver Java stack but requiring an Oracle database somewhere
The requirements only apply to the system where you install the central components of CPS, not for the systems CPS connects to: the SAP systems you connect to CPS to monitor and control jobs can be of SAP versions going back to 3.1 approximately.
So if you already have or can install a NetWeaver 7.0 Java stack, you can deploy the latest version of CPS there and use it to handle the jobs in your NetWeaver 2004 system (and/or the 4.6c system you mentioned earlier).
If not, you can start with the standalone version. If possible, I'd recommend to start with the NetWeaver integrated version, this saves you an upgrade of CPS later.
Regards,
Anton.

    I have a problem with GRC Process Control MDUG import template:
    I have many processes structured on 4 levels.
    In CENTRAL PROCESS folder of template I would like to use same secondary process in 2 different main processes.
    At import check GRC answer that the object is duplicated !
    It seems I can't use again the same object in another process.
    is it possible ? How can I resolve ?

  • Diff bet central processing and local operations in decentralized WMS

    Hi Gurus,
    Will any one give clear picture about exact diff between central processing and local operations in the functionality and configuration part, which comes under decentralized WM Integration.
    mail me  any doc or pdf,,to [email protected]
    SPRO, path Le -> Decentralized WMS Integration -> Central processing, local Operations.
    Full points for useful answer
    Regards,
    Venkat

    Hello Venkatesh,
    Let me try to explain in simple words.
    In decentralized scenario you will be using two different system
    1. Central system
    2. Decentral system (WMS system and it can be any application i.e. SAP or other WMS application) in which you will carry out WH transactions.
    Now when you have SAP system as Central system at that time you will make settings in "Central Processing"
    When you are using your SAP system as Decentral system (which is linked to other Central system) at that time you will make settings in "Local Operations"
    Hope this helps.

  • License Key for SAP Central Process Scheduling by Redwood

    Hi!
    I installed SAP Solution Manager 7.00 EHP1 and would like to use the function
    SAP Central Process Scheduling by Redwood.
    Can some one tell me how to get a license and to configure this function?
    Thank you very much!
    regards
    Thom

    Dear Thom,
    The procedure for procuring and installing the license is given in the Quick Install Guide for Redwood which you would have used to install the process scheduler.
    Kindly follow the process and procure the license.

  • Why the Process is still in deadlock when i have exhaust its error stream.

    There is the code:
    import java.io.*;
    public class ProcessExec {
      public static void main(String[] args) {
         * Test the Process created by Runtime.exec().
        Runtime rt = Runtime.getRuntime();
        String s = new String();
        if(args.length < 1) {
          System.out.println("Usage: java ProcessExec executionName");
          System.exit(-2);
        try {
          Process process = rt.exec(args[0]);
           * Buffer the error stream and exhaust it.
          System.out.println("ErrorStream data of Porcess:");
          BufferedReader br = new BufferedReader(new InputStreamReader(process.getErrorStream()));
          while( (s = br.readLine()) != null) {
            System.out.println(s);
          System.out.println("\n\n------------------------------------------------------------\n\n");
           * Buffer the input stream and exhaust it.
          br = new BufferedReader(new InputStreamReader(process.getInputStream()));
          System.out.println("InputStream data of Porcess:");
          while( (s = br.readLine()) != null) {
            System.out.println(s);
          System.out.println("Return num: " + process.waitFor());
        catch(Throwable t) {
          System.out.println(t);
    }When i run the "javac" as :
    C:\classses\lang\java ProcessExec javac
    The process run correctly and print the error stream.
    But when i run the "java" as:
    C:\classes\lang\java ProcessExec java
    The process was in deadlock?
    Why,in my code i have buffered the error stream and input stream using a BufferedReader and then exhausted them.
    And when i invoke the "javac" it ran correctly but why it couldnt run correctly when i invoked the "java" execution?

    A deadlock occurs when two locks are dependant on each other.
    This is unlikely to be the case here.
    With out your exact command line or what your output is or if you have a dealock we will need to see the thread dump which displays where the deadlock is.

  • Where can I find the reason why a process was suspended?

    Hi everyone,
    where can I find the reason why a BPM process was suspended a in CE 7.11 system?
    In "Manage Processes: Process Instances" is see it is suspended, but the history and data objects are fine, so I see no reason why it might get suspended. I assume some problems within a Mapping Activity, e.g. a Bunsiness Rules call does not work, or there is a data mapping problem. For further troubleshooting, I need more information...
    BTW, I read
    [SAP Help: Process Troubleshooting|http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nwce711/helpdata/en/c9/8bbe067ee343258b8dd83fee859092/content.htm] but it did not help me. The Process Server Log does not work, see [my SDN forum thread|"Process Troubleshooting: Process Server Log" does not do anything?!; so I can't look up there.
    Thanks, Georg

  • Why different processing speeds...

    Hi, I´m interested in purchasing a new Macbook Pro as my old iMac G5 is seemingly worthless. Could someone kindly explain why the 13" Macbooks have a larger processing unit and if the smaller laptop is faster than the 15" or 17"? This would help me greatly in deciding which size and processing speed is necessary for me. Thanks.

    In short... they are not faster than their bigger brothers. The 13" model features 2 cores, where as the bigger models are quad core.

  • Why "Burning process failed"?

    I got this error message "burning process failed". Any reason?
    1) I got the right DVD disc for burning.
    2) It rendered all the way till it finished processing the movies.
    3) The moment it reached Burn, I have this error message.
    This is so frustrating. Why?

    Sorry if this sounds like a dumb suggestion, but have you put the DVD into a separate DVD player and see if it played? I get error messeges on my Mac that says the program quit unexpectedly, even though I told it to quit the instant earlier. Sometimes it just forgets or something, who knows.
    If this playing somewhere else doesn't work, then sorry, but I'm not familiar enough with the program to be able to tell.

    Hi All,
    First thanks all for your help and sorry for the delay.
    Here are some precisions:
         - RFC Agent is correctly connected to SAP BW systems.
         - Basic ABAP programs (such as RSUSR000) are successfully executed in BW Systems
         - The SAP BI version is 7.0
         - XBP 2 is used
    I was told to do some user configuration in SAP in order to make the process chain run via SCPS: there is a part in the help of redwood explorer saying some specific instructions must be applied in SAP BI:
    The quote :
    "To check or set the SAP BW user for background processes:
    Go to Administration > Settings > Customizing (transaction SPRO).
    Click on SAP Reference Img (German: BIW).
    Expand the tree to find BW Customizing Implementation Guide > Business Information Warehouse > Automated Processes > Create User for Background Processes. (German: BIW > Automatisierte Prozesse > Benutzer fuer Hintergrund anlegen.)
    Click on the hourglass (Maintain Activity) for that row.
    Fill in the new username, for instance: BWALEREMOTE."
    Issue is now that these exact mentionned items and menu do not exist (?) or at least were not found in our SAP BW systems by our SAP Administrator. The help file do not mentioned the version of SAP BI. Is there a compatibility issue ? I mean we have for instance a defined user ALEREMOTE but do not know if it has the same authorizations than the mentioned BWALEREMOTE.
    Have someone an idea of the problem encountered ?

  • System error in block parforEach: Exception why is process finished?

    Hi everybody,
    we split a message in BPM. Then we loop the multiline-container element.
    For each line-item we call a WebService synchrounous.
    We got a exception branch for system errors.
    Now we got the following problem:
    Our produces abount 3000 line-items.
    While processing e.g. item 1000 we got a system error and the BPM jumped into the execption branch. After processing the exception branch the process FINISHED!
    We assumed that the process would go on processing the remaining items!
    Is there a workaroud, that the process does go on with processing the remaining items?
    Regards Mario

    Hi,
    After handling the exception, the process will be continuing after that block. So you can try to put the block within a loop until all the line items get over.

    P.Venkat

  • Why the process chain always run twice when triggered from R3?

    I run a program from R3 by calling the remote function 'RSSM_EVENT_RAISE' on BW to trigger an event and in turn the event on BW bring up the running of a process chain.  But whenever I run the program on R3 to bring up the running of the process chain, I find the process chain always run twice at the same time.  Does anybody knows the answer?
    And also I would like to know the functionalities of the two picture buttons "Activate" and "Activate and Schedule" in process chain.  In which case the "Activate" button should be used and in which case, the "Activate and Schedule" button should be used?   If we click the Start variant of a process chain, then click "Change Selections" button which bring up the window "Start Time" where the buttons "Immediate", "Date/Time", "After job", and "After event" are listed at the top.  If we modify at any of the above buttons, then after save this modification, we will have to click "Activate and Schedule" button to make it work, right?
    Thanks a lot and everyone's idea is greatly appreciated!

    Kevin, make sure there is only one job scehduled for the Start Process of your Process Chain.  If you bring up the Process Chain (not the log view), right click on the Start Process and select "Displaying Scheduled Job(s)...".  There should only be one scheduled job with name BI_PROCESS_TRIGGER.  If there is more than one, then when triggered, it would execute more than once at the same time.  If there is only one job, then maybe your R/3 program is triggering the event more than once?
    As far as the Start conditions for the Start Process, it works off the same principals as a scheduled job.  These start conditions determine when or how the Process Chain is to be executed.  You also have control over frequency.  These start conditions determine the scheduling of the Start Process of your Process Chain.
    When you schedule a Process Chain, a separate scheduled job is created for "each" process in the Chain.  BW controls the triggering of these jobs based upon how the processes in the Chain are linked.  All the jobs associated with Process Chains have strict naming conventions and all begin with BI_PROCESS_...  If you use SM37 to view all jobs that begin with BI_PROCESS_ you will find alot of scheduled jobs associated with your process chains.  Each job represents one of the processes within your process chains.
    Does this help?
    Another tip might be to trigger the event manually in BW (use tx SM64).  If the process chain executes twice again, then maybe there is a separate scheduled job in BW that triggers the process chain that is triggered by the same event as the start process of the process chain.

  • Why java process crashes frequently

    We are facing an issue with our Oracle CMS server which is a java process. Content server instance is going down again and again within 5 minutes. We don't see any entries in the content server log files. However there is a crash dump of the java process that we get. I am attaching log entries here. Can any one please guide by looking at the logs as what could be the probable issues for the crash.

    Looks like Stellent comes with the JRE built in, judging from the stuff in the shared-libs. This smells like a HotSpot bug - you might dig around in the Sun bug database and see if there's anything similar there. In any event, the advice to work with oracle/Stellent is sound, since everything in that log points at something either in Stellent or in the Sun JRE itself.

  • Why does Process 'Translate' keep crashing every 12 seconds?

    Hi folks
    I have an errant process called 'translate' (note: not 'translated') which appears to be part of Rosetta. It resides in usr/libexec/oah. In my case it crashes every 12 seconds (not eleven, not thirteen). I have a rather large crash log for translate (360mb). So my question is
    How do I stop translate from crashing every 12 seconds? Or at all?
    Regards
    TD

    It's the one part of Growl that is not recompiled for Universal yet. I found the answer in a thread on this forum:
    http://forums.cocoaforge.com/viewtopic.php?t=8175&postdays=0&postorder=asc&start =45
    Download the Universal recompiled version here
    http://evands.penguinmilitia.net/GrowlImporter.mdimporter.zip
    Unzip the file and overwrite the file with the same name in this location:
    ~/Library/PreferencePanes/Growl.prefPane/Contents/Resources/GrowlHelperApp.app/C ontents/Library/Spotlight/
    (You can get there quickly via Go->Go to Folder in Finder).
    Log out and log in again.

  • Why make process size so huge on WindowsXP?

    It seems like no matter how much memory my application uses. For example I can make a very simple app that just shows a JFrame. Runtime.getRuntime.totalMemory() claims that I am using 4MB, which seems like a lot for a simple frame window. TaskManager says that the application (JRE) is using 18MB. The JVM process size is over 4X larger. Is there anything that the developer can do to reduce the process size?
    I realize that the JRE is loading classes, spawning its own threads which require heap space and stack space, but the perception that most people get when looking at TaskManager is "Wow there must be a memory leak in that application it using 80MB." I know because my manager has said some close to that with a few expletives thrown in. This makes it hard for me to convince him that Java is a great choice for developing desktop applications.
    I think that instead of implementing new language features like auto-boxing and spending time developing Timbuktu language support, this needs to be addressed. Otherwise I think many desktop application developers will have the same difficulty and may forced to look at using C++ with GTK or Mono.

    Remember that a computer has much more memory at it's disposal than
    just RAM as modern operating system use swap memory to give greater memory. Have you tried
    running with the -client command line option.hm, my machine is 512MB and since I've started running eclipse there has been a definite improvement in disk thrashing (sporadically) when switching between applications..
    as a corporate user, i get to request a machine upgrade sometime next year (yay!) but someone pointed out to me that this isn't the typical scenario - but guess its just a few years away when this really doesn't matter so much
    I tried the -Xmx and -mx options. The process size is not affected, only Runtime.getRuntime().getMaxMemory() is affectedah, ok - must have been confused there..
    i found this bug:
    http://bugs.sun.com/bugdatabase/view_bug.do?bug_id=4864304
    which seems to have become an umbrella bug for various swing memory issues - it does look like that have been real improvements in 1.5
    eg my own quick test - running SwingSet2 (java1.4 version) with both 1.4.2_04 and an early beta of 1.5 gives around a 10 - 15MB difference which does seem a real good result (its also faster..) but the absolute measurement is still around 60MB - i think maybe its something to do with font cacheing - not being able to rely on the underlying OS's font rendering capabilities
    another relevent thing could be jvm sharing:
    http://bugs.sun.com/bugdatabase/view_bug.do?bug_id=4416624
    which i think the point about is that it mitigates the per-jvm memory costs - so you only take that hit once..
