Why clips copied not linked in 10.1?

I am confused by the media handling of FCPX 10.1. Goal: On the one hand a library on disk-1 containing the project, on the other hand disk-2 containing the event with the clips. But when I procees with this, the original media are copied into the project on disk-1 instead of linked to the clip on disk-2. A warning comes up about copying the media, but it also mentions linking to external data. Isn't a separate disk with media not external? And if I am mistaken in my understanding of the new library structure, how can I accomplish the wanted separation between project content and media events on a separate disk?

I can't see the folder structure in the second image. The folder structure to update the projects needs to be:
Drive/Final Cut Projects/Project Folder Name
If the projects are inside a folder in Final Cut Projects take them out of there.

Timeline and Project Bin Clip Names Not Linked

I realize I could get booed out of the room for mentioning FCP7, but one painful issue I'm encountering with an imported project from Final Cut is that once a clip is put into a timeline, its name is not updated inthe timeline when the project clip name is updated.
I took over a project that has numerous subclips with long, long names. The prior editor did not use any metadata fields except for subclip names, so the names read like short stories. These long names create a lot of visual distraction in the interface and result in interface tabs that are so long they hide the remaining tabs in the source window.
In FCP 7 I would simply rename a clip and each incidence of that clip/subclip in the timeline would update at the same time. It was beautiful and elegant.
I'd love to hear the logic as to why PP doesn't operate this way. In our imperfect world it's not possible to control what previous editors have done before a handoff, epecially now with lots of legacy XML coming into PP and AVID from old Final Cut Projects.
I can think of a number of other scenarios for which linking the names timeline and project clips would be a huge help (changes to a project scope, user error, etc).
I should ask: am I overlooking a setting in the preferences or something? Anyone else run into this issue?

I really preferred how FCP7 works. I think Premiere Pro would benefit from this change too. If you don't want clips in the TL to updated with clips in the bin (maybe I'm missing something, but I can't imagine in everyday use where you might want to do this), an independent clip could be created that then breaks that relationship.
I think consistency is important and its very difficult to keep a consistent universe of clips when a change in clip name is needed. I have to respectfully disagree with Jim on this. I know how I like to work. Everyone has their own ways, and their is no one right or wrong way, but I see this "feature" as a particular deficit of functionality in PP that will be addressed soon.

Why does Lion not link up with my wifi despite having the key?

This is seriously ANNOYING and is a big factor in my wanting to revert to Snow Leopard and get a refund for Lion.

I removed all networks from my list of networks. And re-added my home network. It is NOW the only network in the list of preferred networks.
Now my issue is when I log onto my computer, it says NONE OF MY PREFERRED NETWORKS ARE AVAILABLE despite my home network being ON THE LIST. So it gives me a list of networks it is geting a signal from...and my HOME NETWORK IS ON THE LIST.
And despite it being in the preferred network list, and the box checked to remember networks that this computer has joined....it requires me to enter my network key to log on to the network that it has already been given the key for....several times.
I updated to 10.7.1 yesterday and that did NOT help.
I will be reverting to Snow Leopard today.
My old Macbook Pro which is running Leopard (it can't run Snow Leopard due to it's age connects with absolutely no problems.
I should NOT have to make an appt with an Apple Store Genious Bar and drag my computer there. That is completely ridiculous.

Any ideas why Bonjour might not link

This may be better directed to iStat but I use their monitoring app, iStat Pro on a iPhone 4 and the iStat server on both a Mac Pro (10.6.8) and Macbook Pro Retina (10.8.2)
All devices are on the same network, the two macs are wired (MBP retina via thunderbolt) the phone is obviously wireless. From the phone I'm able to see/load the system stats for the MacPro desk top but I'm not able to do the same with Macbook.I thought Bonjour was default and forget protocol but I'm missing something. Any ideas?

There are two good MJPEG CODEC's that work with the Nikon D-90 material and will allow editing in PrPro. The MainConcept and the Morgan have done well. Do not know how well PE will handle it, but if not well, Steve's advice will get it into PE as a DV-AVI Type II file.

Are you sure you have the right printer?
In UNIX/OSX printers are virtual links to devices and even with the same name can be trying to reach a printer via another network address, so it thinks it is another printer.

Entire project not linked, can not find way to link clips in edited sequences

I had a guy edit the video for me and I have his hard drive. I copied everything over to my hard drive and opened the Premiere Pro project he used to edit the project. Everything shows up, I can see the sequences and the edits. But when I try to view his work, it simply says "Media offline." I tried doing it through his hard drive, same thing. Premiere Pro is not trying to automatically link the files the way I think it's supposed to do it, and I can't figure out how I'm supposed to do this. When I'm in a sequence, whether I highlight a clip or not, the "Link" under the Project tab up top is grayed out.
Any ideas?

Yes, been there, done that. It says what to link to, so I pick my project. Then it's next error message is "File Format Not Supported." These are .MTS video files that had already been used in Premiere Pro for the editing process.

Try this first. Turn Off your iPad. Then turn Off (disconnect power cord) the wireless router & then back On. Now boot your iPad. Hopefully it will see the WiFi.

After "Replace with clip" the original clip can not be deleted from the project - why?

After using "replace with clip" to replace clip A in the timeline with a new clip B , clip A can not be deleted from the project anymore.
If you try to delete clip A, you get a warning, that it still has references in one or more sequences.
If you continue and delete clip A, it seems to be deleted - at first!
Unfortunately if you save and reopen the project, clip A is restored to folder "Recovered clips".
It's not possible to really delete it.
I also did not find a way to unlink clip B from A .
The only thing you can do, is to revert the change by "Restore Unrendered" in the clip context menu. But that's obviously not helping
I dont know if this is a bug or a feature. I understand, that it can be useful to undo the "replace clip" function, but why would anyone not want to be able to delete the original clip at all?
help how to fix this problem is greatly appreciated!

I'm sure it has nothing to to with other sequences.
You can easily reproduce this behaviour:
1. create a new project
2. import 2 clips and name them "A" and "B"
3. put "A" in the timeline
4. ALT-drag "B" over "A" in the timeline (or right-click "A" in the timeline while selecting "B" in the project files and select "replace with clip ... from bin")
5. delete "A" from the project files
6. save and close project
7. reopen project
=> "A" reappears in "Recovered clips" and can not be deleted.

Microsoft Usage Data Import
Microsoft SharePoint Foundation Usage Data Processing
Observed latest Web Analytics Setting as below :
LastAggregationDateId
20140817 - The date id of the last successfully completed data aggregation
LastAggregationTime
2014-08-18T00:00:13.210 - The time of the last successfully completed data aggregation
LastBestBetSuggestionAggregationDateId
20140818 - The date id of the last successfully completed best bet suggestion data aggregation. This date id should not be reset to an earlier date manually.
LastDataCopyTime
2014-08-17T23:59:09.693 - The last time the data were copied from the staging databases to this reporting database for aggregation
Above settings says that Data has not copied from Staging DB to Reporting DB on Date 2014-08-18
In order to verify the same I have checked as follow:
SELECT COUNT (*) FROM [dbo].[WATrafficAggregationByDate] WITH (NOLOCK)
WHERE [DateId] = 20140818
Above SQL Query has returned ZERO value.
Can anyone please let me know Why data has not been copied from staging DB to Reporting DB even timer job status is success ?
