Why custom inspection type?

Hi Guys,
Why would we need custom inspection type? What criterion should be considered while configuraring custom inspection types?
Can somebody throw a light on this?

There are several reasons.  The primary resaons is that for certain functionality can be assigned at the inspection type level.  this includes:
1) different plan usages - inspection plans have defined usages.  An inspectoin type searches for plans with specific usages.  You might want to have different sets of plans for different purposes.  An 04 might use plans with usage 05.  While a Z04 might use plans with a usage of 03.  You might create manual inspection lots with the Z04 and automatic ones with the 04.
2) Copy results functionality is set up by inspection type.  In the same plant you might only want to use copy functionality for certain materials, so you set up different inspection type for that.
3) you can set up the default values that are used in the material master for each inspetion type.  If you have a situation with vastly different settings, having a second inspection type might help in maintainance.
I'm sure their might be other uses as well that others here can mention.

  • No inspection lot created for new inspection type created

    Hi all,
We create a new inspection type which is based on a copy-version of an existing inspection type. These inspection type has a inspection type origin of standard SAP 04 (i.e. Goods Receipt from Production).
Question 1 - we bumped into problem when come to testing in which when perform goods receipt, there is no inspection lot created, may I know why?
The following fields of this new inspection type are all checked; those not specified, are not flagged.
1 - Insp with task list (flagged); Automatic Assginment (flagged); Check Chars (flagged); Skip Allow(flagged); Automatic UD(flagged); Serial Number Poss (flagged).
Question 2 - for this kind of inspection type with origin 04, do i need to perform a goods receipt against a production order or purchasing order? How do I perform a GR against a production order?
    Thanks.

    Hi Tuffy,
Possibly you might not have ticked on preferred inspection type in material master. This could be one of the reasons. Try to do GR after ticking this.
The setting you have mentioned (flagged parameters)are seems to be correct. But lot generation is governed by preferred inspection type.
If you have assigned this newly customized inspection type to lot origin 04, then it would be used against production order and not the purchase order.
There are several ways to carry out GR against production order. It depends on the scenarios which you follow
    1.     MB31 101 movement
    2.     You may use backflush so while confirming order through CO11N auto GR is posted
    3.     In case of repetitive manufacturing scenario generally GR is done by MFBF transaction

  • Runtime error at maintain insp lot origins and assign inspection types

    Hi all,
When i want to assign a new inspection type to lot origin 05 i get a runtime error. I don't know what's happening, but i think that it is caused because the system cannot find a record. When i look in TQ31 and TQ33 i see a line with lot origin 05. In table TQ32 there is no line.
I can still maintain all other inspection lot origins. I removed the inspection type from 05 and want to add another one, but it's not possible anymore because of the error...
    Does anybody have an idea?

It sounds like you deleted the 05 insepction type that SAP delivers and had linked to origin 05
    You shouldn't do that.
SAP is very picky about having the 01 variant assigned.  You have deleted the 01 variant.
You can try to create it back maybe.  If it fails, my guess is you'll have to have the basis team regenerate the TQ32 table from the 000 client.  Then you'll have to redo any entries you need, like any custom inspection types.

  • Inspection type for customer return of returnable package material

    Hi Guys,
I send the returnable package to the customer , while reciving that material to my stock (when the customer return to me ) i want to create outbound delivery with out order refference .
I want system to create inspection lot after doing PGR of the outbound delivery .
The inspection lot sould have the option of result recording and stock posting when i do usage decission
This requirement not met by inspection type 06 , i want to create new inspection type to met above mentioned all requirement .
please provide the steps to be performed to met the same.
    Thanks and regards
    Thamizhchelvan G

    Hi,
The 06 - Inspection type is not stock relevant and also it is not possible to change because it is SAP std.
    1. If you want inspection for Customer with stock, active 05 - Inspection type in Material Master, and move the stock from customer return to QI by using MB1B with Movement type 457 Stock transfer returns to QI. After that system will create the Inspection lot in 05 Inspection type.
    2. If don't want stock for inspection and directly post to Unrestricted using MB1B with movement type 453 Transfer posting to returns from customer to Unrest.
    3. Customer return to Blocked stock using MB1B with mvt type 459 Stock transfer returns to blocked
    Case2.
Inspection type 05 is a stock relevant inspection type.
To use 05 you must assign the 05 inspection type to the delivery item in configuration.
    Follow this path.
Tcode vov6 - there will be schedule line category DN.
go to details of DN.In Business data, check which movement type is assigned here.
I think in your case it will be 651.
Change it to 655 and try now.
    hope it will work.
    Thanks

  • Why custom production order type?

    Hi Guys,
Why would we need a custom production order type? What is the criterion to be considered while creating  custom production order types?
    Regards,
    Sravan Kumar

    Dear Sravan,
1.A Custom Order type might be for a specific business requirement, for Eg Order TT01 is for a normal production process and
TT02 may be for some rework.
2.Likewise if I want to differentiate on a shop floor basis though it might be the same production based I can create a separate
order type for each shop floor.
3.It can be based on different order type dependent parameters like BOM application, task list selection etc.
4.It can be based on scheduling and also confirmation parameters we create new order types(customized).
    Check and revert back.

  • Inspection type in OPL8 (order type dependent parameters)

    HI,
Inspection type we are giving in material master in inspection type field, why we need inspection type field in OPL8 transaction. Is there any specific reason the field having in OPL8. Please advise me if any one knows the reason.
    Srini

    Hi,
Lets see it with the help of an example.
Lets say there is a material - X, which is supplied to two customers - A & B.
Customer A requires a quality certificate, while the customer B does not need any Quality Certificate or Quality Control. In such case, you can not assign the inspection type at material level.
Here, in this case, you would have 2 order types, one with Inspection Type assigned and the other order type without any Inspection type to meet such requirements. And that looks more practical in terms of monitoring the specific orders, costs incurred for specific order etc.
    Revert for more clarifications.

  • 0102 inspection type missing

    Hi,
I found that 0102 inspection type is missing in ECC 6.0 in my development client. But it is available in IDES when I checked it. Is there any specific reason why which this inspection type is removed.
    01- Goods Receipt
    0101- Goods Receipt- Model
0102- good sreceipt- Prelimimary  (Missing)-----Any reason why which its removed or any other issue its not there
    0103- External processing
It can be customized, but please tell me why its not now as , it used to come as default earlier.
    Thanks and Regards
    J

    Thanks Sujith,
Offcourse I worked with 0101, 0102 and 01 in the 3 stage approval process in automotive insutstry. But I got a buit surprised when I couldnt see 0102 in inspn type list or in status profile.
Anyway we can customize it and create a status profile. But its my curiosity to know whether 0102 is removed by SAP for some reason.
IDES, if I check in status profile, assignment of inspn type 0102 inspection type is assigned against preliminary inspection.
But in development ECC 6.0, 0102 inspection type not available, to make sure its not deleted, I cross checked in status profile, inspection type assignment and there also 0102 is not available.
Anyway, i am closing this thread, thanks for your thoughts.
    Thanks

  • Inspection lot creation for inspection type 05

    Hi Gurus,
We have finished material FERT & semifinished material HALB.We have assigned insp. type 02 & 05 in material master of matl. HALB.When we create production order for FERT & confirm the order , inspection lot is generated for matl.HALB of inspection type 02.
Now we are reversing the goods issue by movement type mb1a, movement 262.In customizing for movement 262 inspection lot origin 05 is assigned.
My problem is that when i reverse the goods issue with mvmt.262, inspection lot is not created for insp. type 05. What should be the reason behind this? or are any changes to be done to above setting?
    Regards
    Ram

    Hi Ram,
Just check the SPRO setting SPRO---> Quality Management ->Quality Inspection->inspection lot creation--->inspection for goods movement --->deactivate quality inspection for a movt type.
Here against movt type 262 uncheck the QM not active tick.
    It will solve your problem.
    Cheers,

  • How to create Image as Custom Property Type used in Configurable Web Part?

I wanted to create custom configurable web part property for Image.
Example - the screenshot of Image property used in Image web part is shown below:
My goal is to create as many images as possible in custom configurable web part.
I tried to write the code:
    [WebBrowsable(true),
    WebDisplayName("Example Photo"),
    WebDescription("Example Photo of the user"),
    Category("Custom User Profile"),
    Personalizable(PersonalizationScope.Shared)]
    public Image ExampleUserPhoto { get; set; }
However, the result does not display Image configurable web part property.
I wonder why the data type Image does not cause the custom web part to have Image configurable web part property.
Other data types such as Boolean, Enum, Integer, String and DateTime can be used.
How can I create Image as Custom Property Type used in Configurable Web Part?

I have examined that context node __00 has been enhanced, and  has a class name  z___00. But  when I created a new attirubute by right click " Attributes" with wizard under context node __00.There is still  a error message "view is not enhaced or copied with wizard".
But  when  I created a method  "getvaliation "  in the class of context node zcl__00, the attribute  'valiation' automatically created(at the same time the method "getvaliation' automatically  created for the attribute 'valiation') and I need not to create attibute 'validation' by wizard .  It seemed as if the problem is resloved. But when I make test for it in web ui .There is a runtime erro message.
Do I need to make some configurations in  the business object layer  for the checkbox? but  the checkbox is only used as a flag  to decide whether a backgoud job is needed to be executed.

  • In-process inspection in repetitive mfg-  Inspection type - 13

    Hi there,
Can any one please tell me what is the differrence between the inspection type -03 & 13.
As per my understanding the only diff is that 03 is used in discrete mfg & 13 in repetitive mfg...
what is the other differrence ........??
    Regrads
    Kaushik

    Hello Kaushik,
actually you have already found out that 03 is for descrete and 13 for repetive manufacturing. What is the difference?
03 Descrete Manufacturing : Limited production numbers and can be assigned to a customer order. Example: A computer built with various extras (built to order).
Accordingly inspection plans and inspection points assigned can be configured rather freely.
13 Repetitive Manufacturing: Production lines produce the same product in an unlimited number over a longer period of time. Example: Screws M8 x 40 mm (Mass production). In this case inspection plans need a relation to either time, numbers etc.
I hope that this information answers your question.

  • OAM 10g  - custom resource type issue

I've created a custom resource type, say, boolean with one operation: TRUE. Then I defined resources of type boolean in my domain: /folder, /folder/1
and /folder/2. I created a policy that sets TRUE for resources /folder, /folder/*, and the rule is some LDAP query, like      ldap:///<my_suffix>??sub? (|(attr='A')(title='B')). Then when I run policy tester for a user (who I know has attribute I set in the LDAP query) and for example, resource /main/1, OAM tells me: policy name - correct name, rule - undefined, authorization - inconclusive. If anyone played with custom resource types, can you please advise? Why does it say "rule not found"?
    Thanks,
    -Alex

    Hi Alex,
Doing the equivalent works for me - I suspect that it's a problem more with the resource syntax that the policy is protecting than with custom resource types. In my env I have:
    - Policy Domain protecting resource of type boolean, resource /folder1
    - Policy within the domain protecting url prefix /folder1, url pattern test/.../*, resource type boolean, resource operation TRUE
    - authorisation rule (used in the Authorisation Expression for the policy) ldap:///dc=example,dc=com??sub?(|(uid=bjensen)(givenName=*ba*))
and the Access Tester shows the rule and expected results when testing url boolean:///folder1/test/whatever
Are you using the /.../* syntax in your policy?

  • Custom data type causing trouble in deploying shared variable to RT target

I seem to be having some difficulty in using a network published shared variable created from a custom data type when deployed as an executable on an RT cRIO target.  I'll start by describing why I believe this is where the problem lies.  I created my RT VI in the LabVIEW development environment (LV 2012) and everything works fine.  This VI is pretty simple because it rapidly devolved in to a debug exercise.  The RT VI starts by simply blinking the User LED a couple of times and then starts a simple acquisition loop to read a few values off the hardware using the scan engine (while still blinking the User LED).  After reading the hardware, the values are bundled in to a cluster and written to a network-published shared variable defined by a type def custom control.  The custom control contains five dbl precision floats.  If it matters, the cRIO RT system hosts the shared variable in this case.
So, I deploy this under the development environment and everything works fine.  The LED blinks merrily along, telling me that the program is running properly.  Running a host VI that reads the network-published shared variable yields the desired result.  All is good.
Now I want the cRIO system to run this simple program autonomously at startup.  I build it, set it as the startup VI, deploy it and then restart the cRIO target.  The LED never starts blinking... the VI does not seem to run.  I will spare you most of the debugging work and jump to the end.  I basically "Diagram Disabled" various sections of code until the VI started running correctly as an executable.  I kept reducing the size of the disabled code until only one thing was disabled:  the write to the custom data type shared variable.
So, I guess my question is this:  Are custom data types defined by type def'd custom controls allowed in executable RT programs?  I've read through the cRIO Developers Guide, my NI Real Time Development course book and the Using Shared Variables white paper and I didn't see anything that forbade it.  I know that there are some things not allowed in executables that are allowed in the development environment (front panel property nodes, dialog VIs, OS-specific calls, etc), but no mention of custom data type shared variables.  Any ideas as to why my VI runs in the development environment but fails when compiled unless I remove the write to the network published shared variable?
Thanks in advance for your help!!
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

    Paolo,
So I thought that you meant to disconnect them in the build specification.  Under the Additional Exclusions in the build specification, there is a check box for Disconnect Type Defs.  I checked that box, recompiled, redeployed and it did not work.  At this point I had to give and move forward, so I was going to convert the data typed from a cluster to an array.  When I went in to change the data type in the shared variable pop-up from the project explorer, there was a big button under the variable definition that "Disconnect from Type Def".  Clicked that button, recompiled, redeployed, restarted and everything worked great.  Thank You!!
I suspect that I'll have to be careful if I change the definition of that data type (add an element, etc) since it is no longer connected to the data type.  We'll cross that bridge when we need to.
    Thanks again

  • Stationglobals in a Labview custom step type inside a new thread do not get updated

    Hi,
I have a Custom Step type which I use to pass parameters to TestStand from a VI and vice-versa through some step fields. I run the VI inside a sequence in a new thread and expect the VI to update the parameters when I change them through the TestStand StationGlobals.
For example, I have a waveform injection custom step. I want to continuously inject a signal while I do some measurements on it. So, I put this step type in a sequence and ran it in a new thread.
I pass the VI parameter 'Stop_Injection' through a step field as shown in image 1. And I expect the step field to get updated when the new thread is run continuously by passing the corresponding stationglobal in the Pre-expression of the custom step (image 2). But this fails to happen. The VI does not get updated.
On the other hand, if I do not bother with the step field and directly pass the stationglobal (figure 3), it works perfectly.
Any idea why this is happening?
I hope I was clear in my question.

    Hi,
In image 3 you are linked directly to the StationGlobal of which you are continually updating therefore seeing the changes.
In the other you are only linked to the Step.Stop_Injection and are only updating this valve from the stationglobals once in the pre-expression. You are not changing the reference.

    Hi Experts,
I have attached inspection type 02 for material ,
During material transfer from one plant to another by means of stock transfer,(STO-VB,T code ME21N-VL03N) goods issue takes place, An inspection lot is generated, which is not stock relevant, How can i generate inspection lot with stock in Quality Inspection.

02 inspection type is not stock relevant.
What is the movemenet type you are using for stock transfer. make sure that you have QM active for that movement type. you can activate this in the config

  • Custom Movement Type - Hybrid of 671 and 657

    Summary:
Due to a business process we are looking for a movement type similar
to a 671, but instead of inventory going to unrestricted stock, it goes
    to blocked stock instead.
    Detail:
We have a business process where one plant (store) will create a return
STO (RETPO=X) to another plant (warehouse).  This STO utilizes delivery
processing.  Following the creation of the STO, a negative goods receipt
is perform at the original receiving plant (store) using movement type
    161.  This stock leaves the store as unrestricted stock type.  When it
arrives at the warehouse, a negative goods issue is performed using a
671 movement types.  This brings the stock back into the original
    shipping location as unrestricted stock.
Since the product being returned is defective we would like this product
to be brought back into the warehouse (original shipping location) as
    blocked stock.
We have tried using movement type 657 instead of 671, and while it posts
to the desired stock type, the movement does not update the STO with the
negative goods issue, nor does it remove it from stock in-transit.
    Question:
This there either, a standard movement type or settings to create a
custom movement type, which will be a hybrid of 671 and 657?  We want
this movement type to remove the stock in-transit and update the STO (as
671), and go into blocked stock (as 657).

there is no such Hybrid movement type.
you cannot really create own movement types, you can only create new movement types by copy of an existing one.
If such combination is not forseen (and no coding in SAP programs) then it is not possible to create such a movement type yourself.
Stock in transit has no stock categories to differentiate between unrestricted, quality or blocked stock, you can only post unrestricted stock into transit. Hence you can only get unrestricted stock from in-transit.
QM would have been an option as you can define inspection types and they trigger that a stock will go into quality inspection instead directly to unrestricted.
But you already said that you do not use QM - so there is not much what you can do except remembering that you do a transfer posting to bring returns into blocked stock .
