Why datasources are in 3.x?

Hi friends!
I have BI 7.0 and I have a new source system (ECC), but all the datasources are in 3.x
And, if I delete the datasource X, after this replicate the source system, import again in 3.x release!
Why dont ask me in wich release I want the datasource?
Thanks in advance!

Hi,
Most of the standard datasources are available in 3.x format in SAP BI 7.0. If you want to use transfermation and DTP you
have to migrate the tranfer riles, update rules and datasources.
  Migration:
Select the datasource -> Right mouse click -> Migrate -> With or Without Export.
If you select with export you restore the datasource to 3.x format.
If you select the without export it delete both transfer and communication structure and migrate the DS to 7.0.
If you create generic datasource and replicating to BI then it will ask whether you want the data osurce in 3.x or 7.0.

  • Why exceptions are not using in BAPI

    Hi,
I would like to know why exceptions are not using in STANDARD bapi.Is there any reason for this.
    Please explain me clearly
    Thanks in advance
    Thanks and Regards,
    Venkat

    Hi,
If the exception is being handled by the caller, meaning that the exception is listed in the EXCEPTIONS section of the
funciton call, then the program will handle it gracefully and continue processing,if it is not in this section of the
funciton call, and it is raised inside the funciton module,
it will issue an ABAP dump and end. This is true for
foreground processing as well as background processing.

  • Why Interceptors are not used in Entity beans?

Why Interceptors are not used in Entity beans?
Interceptors can be used in MDB, Session bean but not in Entity bean....why so?
    Thanks,
    Rahul.

    Hi,
why batch updations are not prefered in entity beansPlease refer the specification of ejb and find out what the entity bean is meant for.In short the emtity bean represents the object state which can be persisted.
Talking regarding the batch updations does not make sense , also the entity bean represents the row of the table mapped to the Object(java Object).

  • Why there are no layout in number 3.0 ????????

why there are no layout in number 3.0 ????????
I need to export the number file to PDF file , I don't want all of the pages are together , I need to seperate the pages in PDF file , I need the PDF file with layout function , just like previous version .
why are this useful function missing in new version ????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????

All we know here is that the new version of Numbers is significantly different than the old version of Numbers. We didn't write the specifucation nor do we know what the objectives were for the redesign, other than Apple's stated desire to make the three platform versions of Numbers as compatible as possible across platforms. That's the best "why" we can give you.
Thanks for using only one exclamation point in your last post.

  • BC activation:all datasources are in  7.x instead of 3.x

    Hi,
I'm activating SRM content and i have both  3.x and 7.x flows but the datasources that i had activated for the fist time are just in 7.x.
7.x flows are incomplete (trasnformations missing) so i decided to activate the 3.x  but as i mentioned before datasources are in 7.x and i can´t see the update rules I try to delete the datasources and replicate them again but they still appear in 7.x
    Any idea???
    Thanks for your help

    Hi,
Just out of curiosity, check in 3.x whether you have 'Display Generated Objects' turned on.

Below are a few examples that demonstrate these hierarchyid data type methods.  See the hierarchyid reference in the SQL Server Books Online for more examples of these and other methods (http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/bb677193.aspx).
--return a child of this node ('/1/')

  • Why we are using cluster tables mainly HR

can any plz tell me why we are using cluster tables mainly HR???

    Nice question -
    Am making my guess based on whatever little I know;
PCLn are <i>file</i> systems and not a traditional (RDBMS) table system. Each File may contain one or more data clusters. SAP Defines data clusters thus -
<i>A data cluster is a grouping of several data objects. Elementary fields, field strings and internal tables can be grouped in a data cluster</i>.
<i>Example</i>:<i>Clusters B1 and B2 in files PCL1 and PCL2 are relevant to time evaluation, as is cluster PS, which stores the generated schema</i>.
The reason why file system of data storage is used instead of DB Table system may be for the purpose of storing voluminous data (Payroll and time) and ease of retrieval during processing (RDBMS may hv tough time in this). Also probably because of SAP's origin from Mainframe.
Why data clusters are used -? Probably data clusters are an offshoot (or part) of File system
Pls feel free to contradict the above. Actually DB experts can throw more light on this..

Why we are using servlet as a controller instead of Jsp?Basically JSPs are suited to do just one thing, to generate HTML with variable content. You can put Java code in there too, but it's not a good place for it. Messy to validate, messy to debug. In fact, with tag libraries like JSTL, actual Java code is rare in professionally written JSPs.
A controller does the bit that comes before you've decided what kind of response the user is going to get, typically it may invoke one of several JSPs according to validation etc.. There's a lot of logic, a lot of parsing parameters and so on. Much cleaner to do this from a Java class like a Servlet.
Judging by this forum quite a lot of people come to JSPs from ASP or PHP and don't want to bother with actually writing Java classes. That's never going to be much good.

*how to find which datasource are using  tables AFRU ,CAUFV and AUFM*

    Hi,
You can enter your table names in SE11 transaction and click "Display" and again click "Where -Used-List". Then it will show all the places where these tables are used(Datasources)
    Hope this helps.....

  • To transfer the data Cross the systems why we are not using BAPI Method?

    Hello All,
To transfer the data Cross the systems why we are not using BAPI Method? why we are using only ALE/IDoc's?

    Hi Naveen,
Listing down those I know -
       1. Master data is expected to be changed/created less frequestly.
       2. Transactional data is expected to be chnaged/created more frequestly.
       3. Transactions to create/change/display master data do no have message control integration, since you are not supposed to print/fax/mail master data to your partners.
       4. Distribution of master data in generally supposed to happen within Enterprise boundry and typically you will have one central server maintaining master data which will be distributed to multiple downstream operation system (Some thing where MDM fits). So ideally when distributing master data using ALE you will be sending it to multiple systems.
       5. Distributing transactional data PO/SO etc is same as sending fax/print which fits with the requirement of message control.
    Hope this helps,
    Regards,
    Sanjeev

Why there are differences in error table definitions?

There are columns for data rule errors (logical errors) and DML errors (physical errors), I think you probably have data rules on the table..?
To process DML errors you will have to add the error table into a map you may have to reverse engineer it). The error group behavior is only available for processing errors from tables with data rules. Ensure your table operator is synchronized with your design table.
