Why deployment with VC 3.1 to weblogic 4.5.1 take so much time

Hi
i am working with visual cafe 3.1 enterprise edition and weblogic 4.5.1
,when i deploy an enterprise bean throught the VC
to the weblogic it takes me about an 1/2 hour ,does any one knows why it
takes so much time .

I wish someone would tell me too. It's so bad, I can't have my developers
use it. Yes it works fine when you have th 1/2 hour to wait.

    i have like 3000 songs in my itunes library ,but when i change some track's names o change anything of my songs in a diferent way like putting their names in capital letters or changing their artworks..etc ,itunes takes too much time updating the changes to my ipod................. why?

      Windows XP

    Generally the iPod update is pretty quick unless you are making many hundreds of changes at a time. It could be the USB port is slow, try it in another port, preferably on the back of the PC, some computers have underpowered ports on the front panel. Also the recommended system requirements are for USB 2, it will work from a USB 1 port but much slower if that's the type of port you have.

    You have 2 unreachable statements in this method.
    public static int eval(String s2, String op, String s3) {
    return lookup(s2);
    return lookup(op);
    return lookup(s3);
    } You're missing a } at the end of this method:
    public static int lookup(String s) {
        for(int k = 0; k < symbols.length; k++){
            String symbol = symbols[k];
            if(s.equals(symbol))
                return k;
        }You have some loose } and ; at the end of the file:
    public static void main(String args[])
    commandline();

  • Session bean takes too much time with multiple clients

    Hi ,
    We have a problem in our system.
    we have a session bean on Weblogic 6.0 which internally accesses a DAO
    to get data from an Oracle Database .The sessionbean does a bit of
    heavy processing with the data and then returns an Arraylist of
    required objects .
    with a single client running on the system the whole thing takes about
    3 seconds but if three clients access the same functionality the total
    time taken rises up to a big 50 seconds for all the clients .
    we do not have a problem with the connection pool, all connections
    are closed properly .
    anyone who has faced the same problem ??
    what could be the reason for this anormous increase in time??
    Thanks

    Hi ,
    narrowed down the problem to resultset looping taking too much time .!!!

  • Why is FF takes so much time to open web sites?

    I am going to compare FF with Google Chrome. So, I have a site that I would like to open: [http://wwwtruconnect.com truconnect.com] It only takes 3 seconds for Google Chrome to open that web site. When it comes to FF, it takes good 6 seconds, which is much slower. My question is: can the plugins I installed cause this problem? Is there a way to determine if a plugin loads fast enough and does not slow the whole browser?
    Thank you.

    You can try to use the Web Console (Web Developer > Web Console;Shift+Ctrl+K) to see how much time items take to load.
    *https://developer.mozilla.org/en/Tools/Web_Console
    Start Firefox in <u>[[Safe Mode]]</u> to check if one of the extensions or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Appearance/Themes).
    *Don't make any changes on the Safe mode start window.

  • Why fix and repair with applecare take so much time..

    Hi there,
    as title above.. its about one month and half now... sad
    the only problem is HDD smart failing

    For that length of time, you probably could have gotten your own HD and replaced it by now.  Maybe Apple in your part of the world is having an issue sourcing the drive.  Who knows...?
    I haven't been too impressed with their support either.  Dell would have fixed it in a day.  Dunno about Malaysia, but in the US, Next Business Day.... guy shows up with a hard drive and replaced it whereever you want them to show up (work or home or in a park, lol).

  • Why the 'LIKE' operator takes so much time to run?

    I have a table T with 3 columns and 3 indexes:
    CREATE TABLE T
    id VARCHAR2(38) NOT NULL,
    fid VARCHAR2(38) NOT NULL,
    val NVARCHAR2(2000) NOT NULL
    ALTER TABLE T ADD (CONSTRAINT pk_t PRIMARY KEY (id,fid));
    CREATE INDEX t_fid ON T(fid);
    CREATE INDEX t_val ON T(val);
    Then I have the following two queries which differ in only one place - the 1st one uses the '=' operator whereas the 2nd uses 'LIKE'. Both queries have the identical execution plan and return one identical row. However, the 1st query takes almost 0 second to execute, and the 2nd one takes more than 12 seconds, on a pretty beefy machine. I had played with the target text, like placing '%' here and/or there, and observed the similar timing every time.
    So I am wondering what I should change to make the 'LIKE' operator run as fast as the '=' operator. I know CONTEXT/CATALOG index is a viable approach, but I am just trying to find out if there is a simpler alternative, such as a better use of the index t_val.
    1) Query with '=' operator
    SELECT id
    FROM T
    WHERE fid = '{999AE6E4-1ED9-459B-9BB0-45C913668C8C}'
    AND val = '3504038055275883124';
    2) Query with 'LIKE' operator
    SELECT id
    FROM T
    WHERE fid = '{999AE6E4-1ED9-459B-9BB0-45C913668C8C}'
    AND val LIKE '3504038055275883124';
    Execution Plan
    0 SELECT STATEMENT Optimizer=ALL_ROWS (Cost=1 Card=1 Bytes=99)
    1 0 TABLE ACCESS (BY INDEX ROWID) OF 'T' (Cost=1 Card=1 Bytes=99)
    2 1 INDEX (RANGE SCAN) OF 'T_VAL' (NON-UNIQUE) (Cost=4 Card=12)

    I will for sure try to change the order of the PK and see whether there will be any impact to the performance.
    In our application, val is much closer to a unique value than fid. In the example query, the execution plan showed that the index on val was indeed used in the execution of the query. That's why the 1st query took almost no time to return (our table T has more than 6 million rows).
    I was hoping the 'LIKE' operator would utilize the t_val index effectively and provide similar performance to the '=' operator. But apparently that's not the case, or needs some tricks.

  • I have a client who was working with Now to Date, which is now obsolete.  She is looking for a mac calendar program that is as close to Now to Date as possible.  She has installed Outlook 2012 but finds that is takes too much time to enter data.  Help?

    I have a client who has been using Now to Date on her Mac.  That program is now obscure and she is looking for software that is extremely similar.  She has tried Outlook for Mac and it is too labor-intensive for her.  She wants a professional look, and something that is not linked to e-mail as she works with a lot of proprietary information.  Help?

    I could not identify that app in macupdate.com. If a Calendar program, what about iCal? did she try it and disliked? If you go to macupdate.com, and type ‘calendar’ in seach filed, you will be given a lot of apps, you or she should test what it most appropriate for your/her needs.

  • Everytime i sincronize ipad it take toooooo much time in importing fotos, WHY ??

    Hi,
    I have a problem to sincronize my iPad, everytime I do it it take sometime hour to import fotos and finish, even if I have just 1 new foto it do the same everytime, it say importing fotos and I have to wait.
    What can I do to resolve this problem ??
    I have the iPad with the firmware 4.3.1, with the oldest version it was the same. I used it with Windows and it was the same. Now I am using an iMac with the Leopard 10.6... and the same problem.
    What wrong ??

    You're probably in the clear then if they're that old...
    Of course, that in itself goes a long way to indicate thay they are probably all graphic images of the pages. That would explain the monstrous file sizes and the speed problems.
    There's not much you can do to overcome that unless you can find an OCR program for your computer you can feed them into and reliably convert them to text. I'm guessing that's not going to be very practical.
    You may want to try a different PDF reader and see if it handles it any better. Adobe's own PDF reader for iOS might do the job. I've never bothered to try it out, so I couldn't say off hand if it will do a better job or not.
    On the one hand, it stands to reason that it would, since it's thier format after all... On the other, most of the stuff coming from Adobe is so bloated and slow that I won't be surprised to hear that it's actually worse...

  • Help ! why does the first launch of a report take so much time ??

  • Any tool to help deploy with Exploded Directory Format

    I read through the "Oracle9iAS Containers for J2EE" Getting Started document and saw the section on "Deploying with Exploded Directory Format". I would like to take the Petstore1.1.2 code and put it in exploded directory format so that OC4J can easily pick up changes to servlets and EJBs. But the codebase for Petstore is complicated enough that I would like to have a tool (possibly ant) that can automate the process of going from either the source directory or even ear file to the "exploded directory format".
    Are there any tools available to help automate this process??

    Never mind. This stuff is a lot simpler than I initially thought. There is no need for a tool because it is easy enough to do by hand.
    Sorry for bothering everyone
