Why did all my apps update when I have automatic updates turned off?

I have them all turned OFF so that I can manually update my apps when I choose to.
Yesterday there were 11 updates left after I had finished updating the apps I use most often.
Today, it says ALL my apps are up to date?!
So, did Apple force a bulk update on me despite my having turned everything OFF? Or did all my updates just suddenly disappear overnight???
I will be VERY angry if I find out that my apps can be forcibly updated without my say so!
If so, how can I prevent this from happening again? If not, same question?

All my data was erase when i downloaded the ios6. All my apps, notes, email e.t.c. and no where did it say it was going to do that. On the last software update it didn't but, on this one it did.

Just upgraded from 5 to 5s. All the apps are there except the Gmail app. It disappeared. When I search for it in the App Store I just get the option to open the app. When I push the open button, nothing happens. Help?

It sounds like the app was corrupted during the update. Double-press the HOME button and scroll through the displayed apps. If you see the gmail app flick the screen image up with your finger to close it. Then try to launch it again using Search (drag your finger down from the middle of the screen). If it still doesn't work try a reboot next - hold the HOME and SLEEP buttons at the same time until an Apple logo appears.

Why did a game app use my iCloud storage when I have iCloud backup turned off?

I have a game app that I just bought but when I looked in my settings under iCloud>Storage & Backup>Manage Storage then under Documents & Data I noticed that game had used some iCloud space. I have iCloud backup off but in settings>iCloud Documents & Data is on along with few other ones like Contacts, Calendars, Reminders...etc. I'm curios if this game app is using the 5 gigabytes of free space I have that's not even on for backup? What documents & data actually get stored when Documents & Data are turned on? I totally understand the Contacts, Reminders, Bookmarks, Notes, Photostream...etc but somebody explain please what Documents & Data stores. Thanks.

The weather app that came with my iPhone 4s will sync with my iPod touch 4th generation weather app that it came with also. For example, if I add a city like Las Vegas on my iPhone then when I go to my iPod Touch, Las Vegas will be there as well. Also for example if i restore my iPhone or iPod touch clean, the weather data all appears there. All the cities that I've added for weather are there.

The only phone I've ever had that would turn on and sound the alarm is a Blackberry. So, I'd hardly say "most phones" have this function.

Why did all my messages delete when i restarted my phone

I was on facetime and I wasn't receiving any of my messages so I went to my message app and i seen all the unread messages but they were blank and all i could see was the name of who sent it. So i restarted my phone and all my messages were gone !

Why did my Facebook app remove the emotion status after updating to iOS7??

After i updated my ipad to ios7 my emotion status on facebook disappeared. I tried deleting and downloading the app several times but the emotion status won't come back. Anyone else having this problem?? How can i solve it??

Why did my browser start crashing when I have two windows or tabs open and I try to close one of them?

I updated Firefox yesterday, 1/11/2013, and now when I try to close a second window or an second tab that I have open, my browser crashes. I tried restarting my computer, but that did not help. I was not on a website that I don't normally use or trust. I tried clearing my cookies and the cache, but that just made both windows and tabs close. I clicked the x on the window to close it, and the same for the open tab. I'm going to try to restart my browser again, and then maybe re-install Firefox, but I don't know what to do if that doesn't work. My OS is Windows 7, if that helps or matters.

hello, unfortunatley those crashes are triggered by the norton confidential 2012/2013 plugin for firefox. according to the bug report associated to the crash signature norton is aware of the issue and planning to release a fix for the bug soon. for details more details it would be best to contact norton's customer support or watch out for updates on symantec's liveupdate.

If I have my mail turned off on my iphone 3gs, I cannot reach some of my contacts by touching their phone number, some I can. Why is this?

When I have my mail turned off on my Iphone 3GS, I cannot then just touch the phone number of a contact and get it to dial. I leave my mail turned off frequently because of all the spam that comes in. Seems I should be able to touch dial all contacts regardless whether my mail is turned on or not. This does not occur with all contacts but some. Very irritating.

The "streaming" in iOS 6 is not traditional streaming. When a song is played it is also cached in a non-permanent storage on the iPhone. As you play music older songs will be deleted or you can delete all the music at once by going to Settings > General > Usage, tapping Music, then swiping across "all music" and tapping the delete button.

Do you have enough funds in your bank account?
otherwise iTunes sometimes black lists card if there are too many fradulent purchases
Reason why they might black list a card is possibly you call in for alot of fradulent purchases
One more reason can be because iTunes does actually limit the amount you can change payment methods

I have the same problem. Closed App Store after double tapping Home button twice. I tried logging out of App Store and back in. Also did App Store updates in computer and updated everything when i synced iPhone with iTunes. Nothing works. App Store updates still frozen in iPhone.

I cannot find this 300GB "Backup" in the Finder, only in the Storage info when I check "About This Mac".
You are probably using Time Machine to backup your MacBook Pro, right? Then the additional 300 GB could be local Time Machine snapshots. Time Machine will write the hourly backups to the free space on your hard disk, if the backup drive is temporarily not connected. You do not see these local backups in the Finder, and MacOS will delete them, when you make a regular backup to Time Machine, or when you need the space for other data.

I have restarted my computer, but the information remains the same. How do I reclaim the use of the 300GB? Why is it showing up as "Backups" when it used to indicate "Photos"? Are my photos safe on the external drive?
You have tested the library on the external drive, and so your photos are save there.
The local TimeMachine snapshot probably now contains a backup of the moved library. Try, if connecting your Time Machine drive will reduce the size of your local Time Machine snapshots.
