Why did Aperture just download over 500 duplicates from my camera.

Despite having ticked 'do not import duplicates', Aperture imported over 500 duplicates from my Canon 7D.
Anyone have an idea why this happened? I take it I have no choice but to go through and remove these manually.

The built-in dupe-sleuth is rather dim-witted. All it checks is file name and the date-time stamp (iirc). If you change either -- for instance, you rename files on import -- it assumes (not without reason) that the files are different (they are) and imports them.
I just shoot a separator frame each time I put a card in a camera. (Point at a light source, hold up one hand with a finger extended, and take an out-of-focus shot. Easy to pick out. Every exposure preceeding the last separator frame has been already imported.) Because I _always_ rename my files on import, I could not use Aperture's "Do not import duplicates" function.
Grouping (and then deleting) the most-recently imported dupes is easy. Select the "Photos" container, and filter for the import sessions that are most recent. You will have to add the Filter Rule "Import Session".

My first post here. I was looking around earlier and discovered that my Blackberry version was 6.18 and there was a newer 6.28, so I downloaded the newer version. I also downloaded the desktop manager to sync my phone with my pc.
When I ran the desktop manager it appears its for BES only. My blackberry is internet based with O2 in Ireland, so I couldnt use it.
I then decided that before I install 6.28 of BB Connect, I should do a backup as I could not use Desktop Manager, so I did a full backup to my SD card and ALSO did a full backup to pc.
I then installed the new BB Connect and when I started I had no mails and had to send service books again. I then got these through and still njothing, so I did an SD card restore and restarted phone. Still nothing!!!! Then I did a PC Suite restore and restart and still nothing!!!!!!!!!!!
Help! I had over 500 mails there from the last 4 weeks and all are gone.
A. Is there any way I can get them back?
B. Can I sync them with my PC in future to stop this happening?

I would agree... you'd think the restore would take some amount of time.
If the emails are more important to you than anything else on your phone right now, you might consider trying to reset your phone... and hope that the restore can run successfully then. But i'm not all that hopeful that it will work.

Have you deleted anything from your iTunes library ? Have you checked to see if they are still on your computer, but not listed in your iTunes library ?
If not then do they show in the Purchased link under Quicklinks on the right-hand side of the iTunes store homepage for redownloading ? If they don't show there and others do and they are still in your country's store, then check to see if they are hidden : http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4919
If they are no longer in your store for redownloading (or you aren't in a country where music videos can be redownloaded) then you will need to copy them back from your backup of your library/downloads.

They are only free via the account orginally purchased or if they came pre installed on the computer. Depending on what you have purchased already us the one account for the app store - saves headace and hassel in the future thus not double buying software. Do you have iwork installed on your imac? meaning the iwork 09? if you do your should be able to to to the store and update it. Worked fine for me since i bought the DVD version of iwork 09 and Aperture 3. I did not want to have to rebuy them so the app store noticed i had them installed and changed the update via the app store.

Welcome to the Support Communities!
I would suggest you transfer your iTunes purchases from the iPhone to the computer first.
Then in your iTunes library on the computer, find and remove the duplicates.
Then resync to your Nike.

I signed up for a Developer account with my Apple ID at one stage.
Although I don't use it I do get prompted to Change my Password frequently, but somewhat randomly since.
At first I wondered if it was a change within the Apple set up overall but I have not heard other people mention it.
Since then I must admit to not checking posts on this topic though.
Whether the request to change the password is triggered by some other even at the server I don't know.
For instance these communities/forums are shared/duplicated across four or five servers. There can be issues is they go out of sync and things like the roll out of the new layout can be server by server with them being Off line in rotation - which it turn can stress the load on the first to handle the change.
On Change over day the process was supposed to start at about 12.00 Noon my local time.
In the evening I could not sign in during the 3 hours I am normally at my computer.
However I could see both the iPhone Community and the Mavericks communities both had large numbers of spam "meet women in..." and offers for "help" with a name that sounded like it could be an Indian Guru.
It looked like these were being edited out at the time.
However the Status page told me nothing about the downtime. And it did appear some people were Logged in and posting judging by the time codes.
Whilst I believe an event happens that triggers a request for a new password for me I do not specifically know that this is what triggers others to have to log in again.
To put it another way though.
You might have one password to the account that you use for FaceTime, Messages, iTunes, iCloud Logging in to post here and so forth.
Whilst the Messages, FaceTime, iTunes and iCloud servers are all separate that password has to be verified.
If there is a power outage at that server then everyone has to log in again.

I chose creative over ipod because...
st I don't like the way their navagation weel looks.
2nd they are made by apple... I never did like apple because they have their own operating system.
3rd they have there own music format, (AAC aka i tunes) and i likes microsoft's wma format.

me, well i own a creative zen micro that's about 5 months old, and a creative zen touch that's about a week old.

I chose Creative Zen Micro 5g over iPod first of all because I received a 25% off discount on my original SB Audigy due to a class action lawsuit and they threw in a free pair of headphones that originally cost $39.99. So the whole package was $69.22. Pretty good deal I think. I love it so far.
Secondly I chose it because I don't like the fact that iPod has become a household word. My player does just as good a job as the iPod or iPod mini. So when people ask me what I have on my iPod I just tell them "nothing, since I don't own an iPod." Then I promptly explain to them that every digital music player is not an iPod.
Third because I am just not a fan of Mac or Apple and their propensity to lock people in to their hardware as well as not opening up Mac OS X to the X86 community in their new Intel deal. I am pretty sure the hacking community will take care of this one for us though.

No you will not have to set up the iPad all over again. Resetting the iPad is like rebooting your computer. You will lose no apps, data, settings .... Nothing at all. I like to use the expression that it's like "clearing out the cobwebs" on the iPad's memory.
The reason I am suggesting this is that there are some other sort of bizarre issues that occur in the mail app and the reset seems to clear up those issues. So I think it is worth a try.
On the other hand, if you have restored the iPad to factory settings, I don't know that it will help. If nothing else works, try going to your web mail using a browser and see if you can't deal with this in there.

Did you check your Library in iTunes?
Under the view menu is View options, make sure "Kind" and "Purchase Date" are enabled, then sort the items in your Library by clicking where it says "Kind" and "Purchase Date"
The ringtone should come right up to the top as it was the last item purchased.
It's also could be in your "purchased" folder on the left pane under iTunes Store

Apple don't make or 'own' songs - other companies allow Apple to sell them. Sometimes these rights owners remove the songs from the store. Apple can't do much about that. You should make backups of any purchases, since Apple cannot guarantee they will be available in future.

YouTube (Google) seems to have made changes to their servers and that prevents the extensions from working for now.<br />
You will have to wait until the extension developer has released an update to fix this or check for a possible beta version.
