Why did Cache.db just show up?

I was just preparing to do a Cache dump as part of my regular maintenance when in the Finder window I had just opened, I saw Cache.db sitting at the top of the large window on the right side. I think I was in my Home folder at the time, but not sure. Anyway, I'm wondering why it was there, where should it be, and is it safe to delete it, meaning will it rebuild itself?
Currently, I've moved it to me desk top.
Another thing, I saw my backup disk sitting on my desktop too?
My Mini does and auto backup at 1 am, so it should have ejected itself by now, 8 am. So, I ejected it, but moments later, it reappeared. What is going on here?

I dump the Cache files, do a PRAM clearing, a Disk Permissions Repair and a secure trash dump after doing software updates on the recommendation of a senior apple support tech who advised me to.
If an Apple employee told you that, he should be fired. Every bit of it is utter nonsense. Deleting cache files slows things down; the rest of it has no effect at all except to waste time. By the way, in Lion the user Library folder has been made invisible in the Finder to try to stop people from doing things like this.
I have found that doing these things keeps my computer happy.

Why did the trace NOT show the other switches in between?

I have a PC that is connected to a switch (A) in a network. Switch A has many switches in between and connects to another switch B. When I did a trace to the server, the last switch I see in the result is switch B. Also, when I checked to which port of switch B that the server was connected, It showed as Po1. When I did a show cdp neighbor for the interfaces for the interfaces involved inthe bundle, I get a switch and then another. Why did the trace NOT show the other switches in between? Why did I get an arp on Switch B? Could some one explain?

It's hard to tell, but if you have L2 switches, the addresses on those L2 switches are for management purposes only and you won't see a response from a trace. The only time you'll see a response is when the packet is routed between devices and not switched. You'll get an arp request/response across a single vlan. If you have vlan 10 across 10 switches, all 10 switches will see an arp request because they're broadcasted throughout the whole vlan.

Why would a file just show up on my desktop ?

When I turned on my Mac 10.6.8 today there was a file on my desktop that I did not put there. This file had my name on it and inside were some of my photos and a lot of files called .js. I'm guessing these files were encrypted because it just looked like a lot of gibberish to me. Does anyone know why this would have occurred ?

Who else has access to your computer? Have you asked them?
Are you missing any photos? If not, trash the files (folder?) but do not empty just yet?

Disconnect all devices from the computer then do the following:
Boot up from your Snow Leopard Install DVD while holding down the "c" key.
Select the language you wish to use, and then choose "Disk Utility" from the menu bar.
Your HD should appear in a panel on the left hand side of the window which opens. Select it and then click on the "repair disk" button in the right hand section of the window.
Once this process has been completed restart your computer and repair permissions directly from Disk Utility.
If Disk Utility is unable to complete the repair, you will need to use a stronger 3rd party utility like DiskWarrior, Techtool PRO (not Deluxe) or Drive Genius.

Why did my MBP just "awake from sleep" with a greyed-out beach picture????

My MacBook Pro just awoke from sleep with a greyed-out image of a beach scene while a status bar at the bottom of page appeared to show some form of check-up or update.
Any idea what this was?

I think that's what the MBP does after the sudden motion sensor detects alot of movement. I'm not 100% sure, though.

Dear Apple Company,
     So recently I have synced my phone's music to the computer, after the next day I was not able to use my phone because it had turned off. At first I thought it might've just been because my mother and I have not paid our phone bill. Well last night my step-father did that and my mom was able to use her phone perfectly fine. And so, seeing that my mother had no issues, I attempted to turn mine on. Guess what? It still didn't want to turn on, after so many attempts, after charging it all night, my phone did not want to turn on. My father thought that it might've just gotten a splash of water on it because sometimes I don't dry my hands from when I wash them and I touch my phone but then quickly dry it off. I thought that since I have dropped it many times it might've now chose to turn off. And my mother just thought it was old and I needed a new one because I have had it for 1 year. But aside from our hypothesis, what should we do to turn on my phone once again? Or what do you think might've happened to my phone? Please send me back an email.

Will not turn on, will not turn on unless connected to power, or unexpected power off
Verify that the Sleep/Wake button functions. If it does not function, inspect it for signs of damage. If the button is damaged or is not functioning when pressed, seek service.
Check if a Liquid Contact Indicator (LCI) is activated or there are signs of corrosion. Learn about LCIsand corrosion.
Connect the iPhone to the iPhone's USB power adapter and let it charge for at least ten minutes.
After at least 30 minutes, if:
The home screen appears: The iPhone should be working. Update to the latest version of iOS if necessary. I think it's because you have not touched any keys.
Macs don't seem to recognise transcoding and other automatic background activities.
Turn off sleep in System Preferences.

Why did my ipad2 just freeze up?

My ipad2 just completely froze up. I couldn't shut it down, swipe, change applications, nothing. It was98% charged, didn't know what else to do so I plugged it into the charger, tried to turn it off, got a black screen with an apple icon, then it seemed to restart itself. Seems to be ok now, but want to know what happened. TIA

HT203171 Magic Trackpad fail. It keeps clicking, sticking, selecting everything to the point of unusability. I'm lucky I have my old "mighty" mouse as a back up. SO annoyed right now. What gives anyways? Why did the trackpad just stop working all of a sud

It's bugging me so bad.
I loved everything about it too, the swiping, gestures and everything are so intuitive. Now, no more thatn 20 minutes ago it just goes crazy. Rebooted the computer. Changed the batteries. Disconnected and reconnected everything. ARGGGGGG.
So lucky I kept an old wireless Might Mouse around, but it feels like being stuck in the past.
Now I'm really upset.
OK, so that was mostly a rant, but man, I'm really ticked. My productivity has gone down in half! I was very acustomed to the trackpad by now - 1 year after purchasing my iMac... and conveniently AFTER the warranty. Those things are like $70!!!
So far there doesn't seem to be a solution. I know it's not a battery or anything - the trackpad is separate from the computer. Tried cleaning the trackpad several times, and no effect.

Forget everything I wrote about bluetooth device interference having anything to do with this issue. I was obviously headed down a rabbit trail with this suggestion.
What I've since determined (that is working for me) is to focus in on the small round bumpers on the backside of the trackpad. I suspect that over time these probably loosen and become more sensitive or even stuck. This might explain the auto-selecting in the erratic behavior of the trackpad.
As a workaround, I used a felt cloth (folded several times) to elevate the backside of the trackpad so that the bumpers no longer touch my desk. This takes a loose or stuck bumper switch out of the picture. Then I enabled the trackpad features for "Tap to click" and "Secondary click," which are located at: System Preference > Trackpad > Point & Click.
Only if you have serious computer repair skills would I advise attempting to adjust the sensitivy of the bumper switch: http://www.ifixit.com/Guide/Repairing+Magic+Trackpad+Click+Feature/6171/1
As for myself, I'll be purchasing a new trackpad tomorrow morning. I love this device, but it seems that once the bumpers begin to wear out, they do so quite abruptly, and your best course is to get a replacement before pulling out any hair you still have left.

If it's apps that you've downloaded from the App Store that you're having the problem with, and the Apple built-in apps are ok, then try downloading any free app from the store (as that appears to reset something) and then re-try them - the free app can then be deleted.

Why did a service bus show up after adding mobile service?

I created 1 mobile service (.NET backend) with default 20MB SQL database, then added a scheduled job (but didn't configure).
When I logged back in to check something I noticed I also had 1 Service Bus and 1 Active directory.
Where did these come from since I didn't add these to my account?

Why can't TB just show each and every email received seperately in the inbox?

I keep on missing new messages that are received. In addition they are a total nuisance. Surely if they're necessary in certain applications then users should be able to choose whether they want the feature or not?

I'm talking about emails received in the inbox.
Before threads every email received was displayed in bold in the inbox irrespective of whether it was the 20th from the same person or not. One could see clearly that there was an unread email. With the thread function it isn't easy to see whether one has received another email from the same person any more.

A photo just showed up in my camera roll that I did not take!

A photo that I did not take just showed up in my iPhone 6 camera roll?? It's a photo of a dozen oysters taken at 11:06am. I am currently at work not eating any oysters! How did this happen?
And now for all of my photos, it is currently saying "This photo is not editable"???

I haven't had this exact issue but I have a similar problem. Occasionally when I open my Photos app for a split second an old old (and deleted) photo will appear full screen, as if this was the last thing open already. Which is impossible because this photo has been deleted for months. It's always the same photo. very strange.
