Why did Firefox "upgrade" me to a version of Firefox that is incompatible with the new version? Where do I find the previous version and reload it??ne

I have an iMac OS version 10.4. Mozilla automatically upgraded me to the new version of Firefox EVEN THOUGH the computer should have "told" it that it wasn't compatible. I'm getting that message when I try to download Firefox from the web site today. (I've had to do that before when one of the ever-so-helpful reinstalls crashed and burned repeatedly) So, now all I get is crash reporter when I try to use Firefox.
Where do I go to download and reinstall the previous version AND also PREVENT Mozilla from being ever so helpful in the future?
Major glitch in the Mozilla process if you force users to "upgrade" and then it's broken. It's not an upgrade if you create problems for the user. That's very, very poor planning and service.

I went to check my version information by selecting about under the help menu. Firefox started downloading the update and prompted me when it finished. To keep your computer and files safe, you should not go back to Firefox 9. Firefox 10 contains security fixes. You may be able to make your toolbar work by using the add-on compatibility reporter as described in this article [[Add-ons are disabled after updating Firefox]].

this firefox 4 is working horrible for me. web pages take forever to load and just generally runs extremely slow. before 3.6 used 450mb of ram and about 10% of cpu. ff 4 uses 900mb and 62% of cpu speed. i want to rollback to a previous version.

Isn't recommended use old versions because they have security issues. If you need an old version to use for a short period of time. try use a portable version.

Firefox accelerated release schedule is causing compatibility problems with our intranet applications - where can I find the plan of this schedule including support termination dates?

We are a university use an in-house developed e-Learning application which makes use of a rich-client framework (ZK - www.zkoss.org). For reasons of compatibility with this application, as well as other general factors, we have standardized on FF 3.6 as the browser for all our desktops. We normally review our browser selection once per year and make compatibility changes/upgrades to the 3rd-party libraries we use, and our own code, in order to keep up with new developments in the browser market.
However FF's new release policy makes our life verify difficult. FF 6 came out only a few months after FF 5. For us to perform an upgrade we have to perform a systematic series of tests, adjustments, changes to regression tests etc. Due to the cost is not feasible for us to do this every 3 months! Therefore please can someone point us to a clear release plan for FF which shows, for each version:
a. Release date
b. End-of-support date
c. Release notes
d. Compatibility in terms of HTML and Javascript/ECMAScript versions.

New versions are going to be released every '''6 weeks''', so until Mozilla announces what they are going to do as far as support for an LTS version for enterprise "customers", you guys are left swinging in the breeze as far as being able to plan for the future with Firefox. I think that until that decision is made, support for Firefox 3.6 versions will continue. A 3.6.22 release is being worked on right now, probably for release this coming week.
As far as support termination dates, as each new version is released support ends for the previous version, except for 3.6.x. Currently Firefox 3.6.x and 6.0.x are the only versions which are getting security updates. Firefox 4.0 and 5.0 aren't "supported" any longer.

At this time I don't want to upgrade to Win 7 or go back to 32-bit XP, since iTunes is the only application I'm having trouble with and I like XP Pro x64 in all other ways. Thanks! The procedure worked great for me (using iTunes 10), however there was one caveat. I also had to edit “AppleMobileDeviceSupport64.msi” with Orca and change the entry in “LaunchCondition” from
VersionNT64>=600
to
VersionNT64>=501
in order for the Device Manager driver update procedure to work, and iTunes to recognize my iPhone4. Prior to doing this, only “digital still camera” was displayed in the “imaging” entry in Device Manger. Once I did the above, “Apple Mobile Device USB Driver” was listed, and the procedure worked as written.

I often have to open a lot of document to check them. Ofter are 10-20, now are about 350. I cannot see 350 button on my taskbar. I cannot also set my taskbar to show into a single button all similar applications (to recognise different sessions of other programs).
I downloaded some time ago version 9 of acrobat reader, but it is not usefull for me. Where can I find a previous version? Witch one is the one that open all files in the same window?

I can't, but if I open a lot of files I can close all of them togeter, pass throug programs by the task bar remembering what file was the last one I checked, open a file seeing if it was already open and so on.
I have to open files from links (not from a folder) and some links remaind to the same file, some other links remaind to different but identical files and I have to check that.
I don't know why Adobe's made the choise to avoid the MDI, but I think it's a wrong choise. You don't?

Firefox makes bookmark backups daily in the following location: C:\Documents and Settings\{Username}\Application Data\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\123xxx.default\bookmarkbackups (where "123xxx.default represents a randomly named folder).
To restore from one of them, hit CTRL+SHIFT+B to open the Bookmarks manager and then click "Import and Export" | Restore and choose a date. See screenshot.
Before you do that though, could you please hit CTRL+I

The Guardian Project recommends using Orweb or Firefox with Orbot when using Tor,but your upgrade will no longer install Proxy Mobile- I need an older version of Firefox Mobile that supports Proxy Mobile.

It seems an odd way of doing business, I think it would make more sense just to say they didn't have any in stock. However I can think of four reasons. 1) budone suggested the request may have come from Apple, one reason for them to request would be they are running out of the current model of iphone. Production problems, phone related or not. 2) Whoever has Verizon's insurance on the iPhones may have stated ENOUGH! Perhaps they have replaced too many iPhones. 3) Verizon will soon be giving away the iPhones (with of course purchase of a (overpriced) phone/data plan contract), so they don't want customers complaining that they had to pay for theirs. Last but not least 4) The salesperson or store manager may have a beef with Apple (or their insurer). However, These are simply my guesses, why not call the store you purchased from and ask to speak to the manager. You may (or not) get a better answer. Hope this helps.

I am just going back to using my iMac. Had to upgrade to snow leopard and not want to upgrade to OSX Mavericks. I can't get the install because it is currently at 10.9.1. Where can I find the 10.9 version so I can upgrade "pre-patch"?

I am trying to install (upgrade to) Mavericks from Snow Leopard (10.6.8). However, the current version of Mavericks is 10.9.1. I'm being told that I can't do this upgrade without 10.9. Any ideas as to where I can find the straight 10.9 (pre-patch) version of Mavericks?

The version on the App Store for Mavericks is 10.9.1 and it's the full installer.
The only time you would need 10.9 is if you were installing the delta download of 10.9.1 from Apple's Software Update Support page.
So, just go to the App Store and you will be able to download/install Mavericks 10.9.1 without the need of 10.9.

Just downloaded Firefox 4. Running Windows XP. Some of the new features are mising such as the new "Firefox Button" and the new location for the bookmarks button. The look is almost like Firefox 3. Why is this happening?

I am using Windows XP on this desktop computer. On my laptop, running Windows Vista, Firefox 4 has all the updates advertised. Why is this happening? How do I fix?

Firefox Nightly 29.0a1 has that new User Interface. But Australis won't be in a release version until Firefox 30 or 31, well into 2014.

I'm having a wee posting spree today after lacking the inclination to respond to the same old threads for the last few days. But I do love it when people get all in a tizzy complaining about stuff that is right under their nose (so to speak).
