These are user-to-user forums, you are not talking to Apple here.
If it was an audiobook then they are one-time only downloads, to get it on your other devices you need to sync it to them and not re-download it oneach. My theory is that because the original appleID wasn't an email, they're making you switch to it when you update to iOS5. So that creates essentially a new appleID and it isn't recognized as the one that originally made all your purchases. Sign out of the Store and then sign in using your old ID and it should do the trick.
The other alternative is to sync your apps rather than reinstalling them....if you can. Hope the phone service helps.

Why did I get charged for the $100 gift card student deal that came with the macbook pro? I was told that it would be taken credited off my credit card however; that has not happened. Am I missing something? Have other people been charged for this as well?

The same thing happened to me but it made sense.
I ordered a MBPR on Jun 12 for $2879 which qualified for the free student gift card. The gift card was available to ship (delivers June 20 - June 21) but the MBPR wasn't available until a month later (deliverys July 3 - July 10). Instead of holding the gift card until the MBPR was ready, Apple charged me $100 for the card then shipped it to me.
About a month later when the MBPR was ready, Apple charged me $2779 then shipped it. In the end, I was charged the correct amount $2779 + $100 = $2879.
Why did Apple do this? I suspect that some people have cheated Apple by ordering a Mac to get the promotional gift card then canceled their order after the gift card was spent. Apple is trying to protect itself.
BTW, if you return the mac then you're expected to return the gift card. If you've spent any amount of the card then Apple will deduct this from your refund.

Since I only have one AppleID and since I'm sitting at the computer showing the previously purchased songs, I'm guessing your third response is the accurate. I logged onto iTunes Store and "reported a problem" with the two songs and am awating their reply.
I'm guessing that it's something I did (or didn't do) when I downloaded the songs from iTunes Store to my iPhone. I forgot to synch these two songs from my PC to my iPhone before travelling. However, I noticed that the two songs were listed on my iPhone iTunes application in a playlist called "recently purchased." I clicked on the two songs and they were downloaded to my iPhone (which I would expect); I then received an email receipt for the charges for the songs (which I didn't expect.)

Oh, that's strange! Your bill should be due approximately the same time each month. It seems like this charge is referring to a bill that we didn't receive payment for last month. Make sure to check all charges at vzw.com and review all the payments were made.

You cannot download the original YouTube app. There is an iPhone version in the App Store but its not the same. Google is reportedly working on an iPad YouTube app.

Hi, first post, probably wrong part, couldn't find the right spot, but heres my question. I love my iphone and the apps for it, I however rely on the free apps, only buying one ONCE in a blue moon, so my question is, why is it, today I bought a .99cent app, it charged me 1.00 four times on my CC? It's a new card because I had to change my info, and I've only bought THIS .99cent app. its the App Genie and its .99. I post here because I know sometimes companies for a new CC put a temporary charge to just check it works, but four 1.00 charges seems iffy... Any help?

Should be OK, though the machine will run much hotter than usual. It will shut itself down for its own protection if it's in danger of overheating.

Why am I getting charged by ebay for shipping then again by Pitney Bowes plus import fee's.

I recently bought an item on Ebay. The purchase was 28.00 US and 7.05 shipping as it states on my Paypal. Total 35.05 US. Then there is another charge from Pitney Bowes for 17.80 us, broken down as follows. 10.05 for shipping and 6.59 for import fees, so what and why 2 shipping fee's. Please advise.

Any import over $20 CDN (about $16USD at the moment) will have applicable Canadian duty and Canadian/provincial sales taxes.The shipper is also allowed to charge a service fee.The GSP charges about $5, Canada Post about $10 (but...) and couriers like UPS and FedEx $25 or more for this. NAFTA/ Free Trade does not apply to item bought from the USA,only to items manufactured there. (And in Mexico, Peru and Chile).There is no duty on used goods.There will be sales taxes on new or used goods regardless of their place of manufacture. (but...)Canada Border Services Agency and Canada Post in a surge of common sense do not usually charge the applicable duty or sales tax or service fees on low value items, especially if those items are small and lightweight. I guess they figure it makes little sense to process such items when the amount that might be collected is less than the cost of collection.
