Why did it add an extra pixel to my jpg?

I recently designed some ads in Indesign CS6 which I then exported to jpg format. When I sent them to the publishing house they could not be uploaded onto their system because the size was not correct although in indesign the size of the document was the correct pixel size.
In opening them in Photoshop CC I could see a single pixle had been added to the width and this was stopping it from going through the publishing houses online system.
Has this happened to anyone else before? Is it a common export problem or is this something I did wrong and maybe should have expected it to happen?
Just want to know if I need to be checking every file in photoshop in the future!

When you exported to JPEG did you select the "Export Selection" or the "Export Page" option?
What I do with InDesign for web images is I export to PDF first.
Then I open that in Photoshop - you can elect the size of the image to crop to and the resolution.
Then save from there.
I have never liked InDesigns export of jpegs, they come out horrible in my opinion.

Why would Framemaker add an extra page to my document ?

Hi everyone,
I have a mif file here that is used to generate a ONE PAGE pdf and for a reason that I don't know, when I open this .MIF file in FRAMEMAKER, there is a second page using default masterpage that is automatically added by FrameMaker.
The .Mif file itself only specifies one BodyPage statement so I really don't know why FrameMaker adds an other page to the document.
So the question is : Why whould FrameMaker add a supplementary page to a document by itself ?

Thanks for the quick answer Van. I had a look to my document and it seems that the pagination is OK, I also thought that maybe I had some "TextRect" that took a little bit to much space but they seem OK too.
Now I'm trying to track every "TextFlow" to see if one of them is printing outside of my "TextRect" at the bottom of the page, that may cause FrameMaker to add a new page I guess.

Rendering to .mp4 in CS3. Prem adds an extra pixel to output

Hi everyone.
Has anyone else had the same problem I'm getting?
When I render out my file from CS3, Prem has added an extra pixel to my file.
My settings:
H.264 Compresser
PAL
853x 682
Frame Rate- 15
Square Pixels
Progressive
Baseline
Level 3.1
1 Pass VBR
Target bitrate - 0.5
Max Bitrate - 1
Under Multiplexer I have .mp4 selected not .gpp(although I tested .gpp but still got that pesky extra pixel)
So basically my outputted file is 854x682
I know my frame size is odd, but it is very specific for the project and cannot be altered for various reasons so please don't tell me I need to be altering my frame size, as I can't. Also the the orignal footage is a mix of screen captures and graphics.

This is a dilemma. You are in the same position as when you tell your computer to only use 0 and 0.6 and forget about the binary system (0 and 1). It is pretty hard to change the fundamentals and intrinsic logic that is built in every computer. One has to give and my bet is that you need to give.

Why did Lightroom add folders to my structure ... ?

I have this irritating problem when I wanna add photos from my SD card.
I chose the COPY function and then chose/instruct Lightroom to copy all the selected files to my Dorbo harddisk as this link:
Drobo > Photos > Birthday
But instead, Lightroom created an extra folder called "2015" and copied al the selected files to:
Drobo > Photos > Birthday > 2015
How do I instruct Lightroom to stop being "busy body" and stop created extra folder ?
How do I instruct Lightroom to just copy to the exact folder that I wanted ?

Why does fireworks add and extra quote on exporting html and images... looks like this ----- align=""left"

Hi Adobe Community,
I had this issue on previous versions of Fireworks.
Why is it happening? Is there a glitch in the software? I thought it would be fixed in the CC version..
here is a snippet of code that is exported.
<td><table style="display: inline-table;" align=""left" border="0" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" width="810">
Basically where ever there is a align="left" it is exported as align=""left"
This leaves me to do a find and replace to fix the code. Kind of annoying.
Personally I thought this would of been fixed in this version.
Please advise and how to fix this and prevent it from happening.

Why did eclipse add a CLASSPATH variable to my system?

After recently installing eclipse I discovered that while I can still compile normally I was getting NoClassDefFoundError running java from my command prompt.
After some puzzlement and wondering if I had gone crazy I noticed the new environment variable CLASSPATH.
Two questions.
1) Why?
2) Can I get rid of it safely or will that give eclipse upset?

Why did Auto Add to iTunes stop working?

I recently started using Handbrake to covert some of my DVDs/BRs to Apple TV 2 (m4v) format for my 2 year old to watch without killing my physical media. Typically, I would covert the file, drop to the Automatically Add to iTunes folder, go in to iTunes and update the title info and artwork etc, and everything would be great. However, after the last iTunes update, things are not working correctly anymore. The problem begins when I add the file to the Automatically Add to iTunes folder. iTunes will now add multiple copies of the movie/TV show to iTunes, but it is not moving the file to the proper location. For example, I made an m4v of Tinkerbell and the Great Fairy Rescue. Once I added the file to the Automatically Add to iTunes folder, iTunes became unresponsive. Then I noticed I had 5 copies of this movie in the Movie listing in iTunes. The physical file is still in the Automatically Add to iTunes folder, and all 5 movies link back to this movie file. I tried a repair on iTunes, and this behavior is still occurring. Any suggestions?

I am experiencing the same and looking for a solution, this is quite annoying. "Automatically add to itunes folder" was working fine until the last Itunes update.

Why did I add and album and it when in several times but only 1 to 3 songs on album at a time

Added new albums. Some separated songs and and made new folders out of them. I had my own bluegrass music i down loaded from CD and they all dissappeared. I have lots of Christmas songs on ipod but I really don't want to hear them till aleast Thanksgiving. How do I put those songs on hold til i want them. Correct. When you purchase devices, they would have stated the OS they needed to work, on the box. This can be overlooked, but it is very important to check when purchasing.
You current OS, is so old, that they technology build into the new devices, is not something your OS understands. It didn't exist when your OS was created, and therefore you need to upgrade the OS to work with the newer technology of these devices.

I went through updates on my three newest Macs this week. As I stated I'm talking about iTunes 10.5.1 (42). I am checking for updates now and I see 10.5.2 is now available. I'll know in about 15 minutes if this issue is fixed or not.

I must have updated this PPC G5 a day or two before iTunes 10.5.2 came out. I was able to update to 10.5.2 (11) and this copy/paste bug is fixed. I'm happy again.

When loading Elements 10 why did it remove my Nic Software add-ons in Lightroom 3?

I have uninstalled and reinstalled the Nic programmes but no success. And it is all now so slow that i am thinking of reinstalling everything. With Windows 7, 8 gb of memory and and i5 Intel processor, my computer should be able to handle this. Elements 7 was already there and working well, so I must have done something wrong. Any suggestions?

Hi, After installing NIK plug-ins, Please check on C:\Users\[user name]\AppData\Roaming\Adobe\Lightroom\External Editor Presets folder.Here you can see some Nik- plugins templates , open any template in Notepad and see "ExternalEditorFullPath" verify this path is right and whether .exe file is present at this location or not.Also verify the status of this path and .exe location after using the PSE.I am confident, this is the issue of file path mismatch. Why did I download FireFox 11, when none of the add-ons work on it?

I was using Google Chrome to use on Facebook. I had problems with it and multiple users told me the way to go was to switch to Firefox. I downloaded it and while reviewing the get aquainted information, it seems most of the add-ons say" Not available with Firefox11. Why did I bother if their newest product does not support their own add-ons?

Why did my iphone add a +1 to all my contacts after shutting it off? Now my contacts have disappeared because it does not recognize any of the numbers due to the +1.

Did you change your region settings?
If so, change it back to the country you're in.
The reverse has happened to me from Austria to America, now my phone has old messages from austrian numbers but it doesn't show their names anymore because the implied +43 country code is gone.

I can not read the minds of the Adobe engineers or Marketing people. Nesting a sequence is not much more trouble than applying an effect.
If you are creating a PIP, then a nested sequence is probably your solution. If you are not nesting, scale and crop, then put a white matte under it.
This is not a great place for asking questions that have no answers outside of internal Adobe decisions. This is, however, a great place to get workarounds.

I normally don't rant, but this is a killer feature removal, and the reason given is for aesthetics - 'Removal of clutter" is how it's worded here:

And your answer is ambiguous and doesn't solve the issue that you created to make things prettier: "Click the AutoCorrect Options button" Then what? ADD EACH WORD MANUALLY?
Please advise ALL OF US that want this feature back how to have our commonly misspelled words fixed and added automatically to the dictionary. If I am missing this in a major way somehow, I apologize completely and will issue a public apology via any
social media platform of your choice. If it really is gone, and I have to manually add the entries into a buried table 6-clicks deep, then I will issue a public excoriation of this feature on as many social platforms of my choice.

To make Word 2013 cleaner and less cluttered, we removed AutoCorrect and certain formatting tools from the spelling error context menu. The features are still available in Word 2013 through other entry points within the Word user interface.
Less clutter in the spelling error context menu. This enables users to find popular commands more quickly. In addition, the spelling error context menu now fits better on the screen.
To change AutoCorrect options, do the following:

Microsoft used to be about allowing users to customize the OS and apps however they want. This was one reason I have always preferred Windows over Mac. There are 5 ways to do any one thing, and you can customize it to do it however you want. It's all about
user choice. Please don't go the way of Apple and force users into the way that you *think* we should do things.

While I whole heartedly agree with this suggestion, if you look through this blog about the design decisions that went into the 2007 ribbon:

You'll see that one of the considerations of the ribbon was to ELIMINATE/REDUCE customization because it was costing large corporate customers too much time/money to support their users with 2003 customized menu/toolbars. In other words, the ribbon
was intentionally built as a fixed design so that average user cannot change it. The QAT was an afterthought, a sop, to allow users minimal customization.
They found that the 2007 lock down was too much of a "good thing", too much like the good old "IBM 360 green screen" (even if most people don't recognize the reference), so in 2010 they
re-introduced limited Ribbon customization within the UI.
But you still can't customize the default tabs. And to add injury to insult, if you do want to customize a default tab and go to the effort of trying to recreate the default tabs and groups
within the Ribbon UI, you'll eventually find that YOU CAN'T'! There is no way inside the UI to force the buttons to layout the same way! AHHH!

EXPERTS have had the option of creating custom Ribbons/tabs by editing XML, but that is pretty serious programming, out of scope for 99% of users.
The "solution" to the problem was too simple. Just add an option to allow users to turn on the old menu UI. Even if it had been buried as a registry hack, the people who really wanted it would have learned about it. Then MS could have collected statistics
on usage that would have "proved" that the menu was preferred over the ribbon. The thing is, if the ribbon was defaulted "out of the box", over time people would eventually all switch over to it. Simply because it was the default, because MS only produced
new training material referring for the ribbon
Now, I'll concede that the ribbon really may be more "intuitive", but only for new users. For long time users the change is very jarring.
They made the same choice with Windows 8. In the last Windows 8 consumer Preview there was a registry hack to bypass the Start Screen. I learned about it in July or August. But MS was so sure the Start screen/metro was the only way to go they
rushed out a Windows Update to eliminate that registry entry. And it was eliminated from the RTM version.
WHY?
