Why did iTunes delete some of my older music? Please, please, please help!
After my old PC crashed, I transferred everything over to my new computer. All my old files were saved in a separate sub-folder. Some of the music was ripped from CDs, some purchased from iTunes. When I connected my iPod nano (4th gen) to merely back up, iTunes instead deleted random albums and music from, not only my iPod, but my music library as well. Some of the deleted music was purchased (& still available) thru iTunes. Other deleted music was from ripped CDs, some of it available on iTunes, some on older CDs that aren't currently available. It felt like someone coming into my home & tossing out possessions at random - I'm irritated and confused. I have an external HD with all the music supposedly on it (my son made the copy), but how do I get all this music back into my iTunes library? I know, I can connect the HD to my computer & copy all my old music files back to the desktop, but iTunes will not "find" them. I found if I merely copy a file rather than move it, iTunes asks for the original source of the file, whether it's a cd, thumb-drive, or external drive. And, if it deleted them once, I'm sure it'll do it again. I don't wish to lose the only remaining copies of these music files. Any advice would be welcome!
Thanks! I'll give this a try tomorrow...I had thought of creating a new folder on my desktop & copying all the music into that, then open iTunes & copy from the new desktop folder. I also have an old Creative zen player, which has most of my classical music on it; they have free downloadable software that's supposed to work with win 7, but iTunes converted it to the Apple format, so I'm afraid to hook that up. Also I have a Phillips MP3 player with music that's no longer on any of my storage devices, I don't know if they've even upgraded their software to work with win 7 or Apple format. Both of these devices are about 10 yrs old, but work like new. But, they haven't been synced in at least 6 years.

Why did iTunes delete 2000 photos during Sync, even with 1 GB free space
I am having real headaches with Sync function in iPhone/iTunes. The 2 biggest problems concern Contacts and Photos.
Photos: I used to have 4465 photos on my iPhone, using 1.47 GB at a time when my iPhone still had 0.67 GB free capacity out of its 29.3 GB total. About a week ago, while syncing with iTunes, I saw the error message on my PC stating that there is not enough space on my iPhone to copy all photos. At the end of that sync, I was left with only 2072 photos using 0.78 GB, while the free capacity on my iPhone increased to 1.6 GB. I have synced at least 10 times since then to try and recover my photos, I have deleted the 2.4 GB photo cache, but exactly the same error message and issues happen. Please help get my photos back into my iPhone!!?
Contacts: my iPhone is the principal device on which I put new contacts or update existing ones. After syncing, sometimes I see that the new information entered into my iPhone is no longer there. And so I lose contact with people, since I have no other records! That’s really frustrating.
I have tried upgrading my iPhone software from current v4.02 to the latest v4.1, but for the 5 times that I have tried my WiFi has timed out, and so still not upgrade, as Murphy Law would have it!I guess I should have included a little more info:
1. I only have 1 appleID
2. I only have 1 apple device (the one iphone, nothing else)
3. I only sync on one computer (VERY annoying you cant use more than 1!!)
4. I never have any other problems during syncing and don't change any settings
5. I downloaded the app again so it is back.
I am not asking how to get the app back, I just want to know WHY itunes deleted this app. This is the second or 3rd time it has happened and it is really annoying.
I also would like to get my files back. So again, I'd like to know why itunes deleted the app and if it deleted my files as well.
The most important part of this is to find out WHY this happened so that it wont happen again. It seems to be a pretty simple operation: Plug the iphone in, itunes opens and does a sync. It almost always works perfectly, I never change any settings. Yet every once in a while it deletes a newly installed app so obviously something is wrong. If I can find out what I did wrong, then I can avoid it in the future.

Why did iTunes move my archived podcasts to the cloud?
I want my podcasts archived on my computer... which they were. Why did iTUnes move them? They were files on my computer, some of which I paid for and which were not downloaded from iTunes. Now I have to download them again. This "feature" is invasive and blatantly stupid.

No, it was not a lie but the music must be in the iTunes library. It doesn't matter what the source for the music is, though.

I'm afraid I don't understand what you mean. Do you not know how to add music to the iTunes library? It is very easy: pull down File > Add to library. You can add any supported file format to iTunes, not everything has to be purchased from the iTunes Store. -

I wouldn't worry about it as I have been charged twice for WWE Legends.
Have you signed in to iTunes? You may need to reinstall iTunes. Try syncronizing your apps from your iphone or whatever you are using to your computer. Otherwise I really can't understand what you are asking. Please be more specific next time. -

Why cant I delete some Folders / Files transfered from external HD? to!
I am trying to figure out why I cant delete some folders / files, that I transfered from an external HD to my Macbook!
Some of these folder / files are text, video, and pic's based. Surely, going through those video / pics / text files, those I dont need anymore I would like to delete. Some of these appear to be deleted (in trash). But few days later I do realize, that they were not delete, or only few of the deleted files were properly deleted!
Why is this, this way - and how can I solve this issues! I just want to delete stuff either in form of folders or files, that I dont need anymore!How are you trying to transfer them? What kind of external device?

Whenever I log out, Itunes deletes some of its files
I have been having this problem since the last update. whenever I log off or shut down my computer, Itunes deletes some of its own files, because When I log back in i get the message "Itunes cannot not run because several key files are missing, reinstall Itunes." and I then have to uninstall, then reinstall Itunes. once this is done everything works fine. help?

I bought this very nice iMac. The first time I ever use a Apple product. Can someone please tell me where the delete key is on the keyboard. I cannot think for one moment that Apple did not provide for such a key. Please help.
The delete key does a backward delete because it is the natural way to delete while typing. May not be to you and the millions of youngsters who grew up with windows computers. When you are typing and want to delete that which you just typed you are already at the end and you delete back to where you want to re-type. When you go back to a document and want to delete a selection, you have to go to the end of the selection instead of the beginning. it's just the way its always been done on macs. it takes some getting use to.
If you select text to be deleted with your mouse then the delete key deletes the selected text. same for either delete key method.
It is not convenient when you tab to fields in a form. That why fn-delete does a forward delete.
Macs have a couple of keyboards. The small "wireless keyboard" only has the (backward) delete (fn-delete forward). The larger "Apple Keyboard with Numeric Keypad" has both a Delete (backwards) key beside the = abd it has the "delete >" key in the groups with fn, home, end, Pg up and Pg dn. This keyboard is best for users who have switched from windows or are familiar with the windows forward delete. -

Without knowing all of the information we can only guess .... And my guess would be that you did not have the apps selected to sync from iTunes on your computer. If the apps are in iTunes on you computer, select them to sync and sync again.
Connect the iPad and sync again - if you auto sync. Then after the iPad syncs the first time - leave it connected to the computer and select the iPad from the left sidebar under the devices heading. Click on the Apps Tab in iTunes. Select each app (click on the boxes next to the names), then click on the Apply button in the lower right corner of iTunes. Make sure that the Sync Apps heading is checked as well.
If the apps are not in your iTunes library - if you had never transferred the purchases - you will have to download them again via the purchased tab in the App Store on your iPad. Make sure that you use the same ID to redownload the apps that you used to buy them with. -

When I run the Dr. Fone software it shows they are still on my iPad 2 but it costs 60-70 dollars. Is there another way to retrieve them? They were not backed up on Itunes like I thought they were. Please help!!
Recover software as you have described is pretty much your only option - keep in mind that if wait, some of the currently recoverable data may well be over-written and lost.

Every time i go on my itunes its as if i have just got it and i have never used it before it's as if it resets over night and the next day i have to load all my apps, music and movies back on to it. if anyone can help or if anyone knows someone who can please say something because its a right pain in the neck. please helpYour problem is normally caused by a program locking the iTunes library so that iTunes can't close properly. There have been a number of causes fro this.

Sony has issued upgrades for some models, check you Sony download site to see if there is one available.
I would check the work around first.
If that's not it, try temporarily disabling you continuous backup to see if that is the cause.
