It seems an odd way of doing business, I think it would make more sense just to say they didn't have any in stock. However I can think of four reasons. 1) budone suggested the request may have come from Apple, one reason for them to request would be they are running out of the current model of iphone. Production problems, phone related or not. 2) Whoever has Verizon's insurance on the iPhones may have stated ENOUGH! Perhaps they have replaced too many iPhones. 3) Verizon will soon be giving away the iPhones (with of course purchase of a (overpriced) phone/data plan contract), so they don't want customers complaining that they had to pay for theirs. Last but not least 4) The salesperson or store manager may have a beef with Apple (or their insurer). However, These are simply my guesses, why not call the store you purchased from and ask to speak to the manager. You may (or not) get a better answer. Hope this helps.

After the fiasco that happened with pre-orders, I decided to wait and go into my Verizon store first thing yesterday morning to get an iPhone. Well.... the young man behind the counter laughed at me and said "we didn't get any iPhone inventory and we won't be getting any for at least 2-3 months. You better just get a Droid". He was really rude about it and I thought a simple "no we don't have any in stock right now, maybe try back in a few weeks" would have been a better way to handle it. He really made me feel stupid for asking for a phone that was supposed to be in stores on Feb. 10, 2011. It wasn't like they sold out or anything, they never received any. How was I supposed to know that a Verizon store wouldn't receive any iPhones on the date they were supposed to start selling them. I got an email saying go to your local Verizon store. Shhheeeesh my bad. Sorry he had to answer my stupid question. Oh wait.... isn't that his job?
I am really peeved by this. I really don't understand why our store did not get any inventory. Are we not valued as customers because of where we live? I live in Jackson WY. This just seems wrong to me, espcially when the news said that some Verizon stores were dissappointed about poor sales and lack of lines. I know it is just a phone and I might eventaully get one, I say might because my contract is almost up and I am seriously considering going to AT&T after this mess, but I am still upset about the lack of customer service. I would think a company like Verizon would be a little more prepared for this, espcially after all the hype. Shame on you Verizon for not being prepared.
Confused in Jackson WYOnly the Verizon Corporate stores got inventory on the 10th. If all you have in your area is Authorized Resellers then no, they did not get any inventory on the 10th. I'm in the same boat, there is not an official Verizon store within 75 miles of my town. I didn't get told to buy a droid, but when I went into a brand new Verizon store (I was hoping they were an actual corporate store, but nope) and asked if they would have the iPhone on the 10th the guy did laugh, but nicely and said they wouldn't be getting inventory for a few weeks.
Use the store locator to check if you have an official Verizon store nearby, if you do there will be two tabs that show up one with "Verizon Wireless Stores" and another that says "All Stores". -
Pre order online to pick up in local Verizon Store
I pre ordered the iPhone 6plus and my expected ship date isn't until 24OCT. Is there any way i can pick one up at a local Verizon store that already have them??
I understand how eager you are leviiaj. You can certainly purchase it at a store if there's stock available, but this can't be guaranteed. In addition, you would need to cancel the pre-order placed online before you can upgrade at a store.

If I go to a Verizon store tomorrow, Tuesday September 23, will there be any iPhone 6's available? I do not want the iPhone 6+, just the regular iPhone 6. I am looking to buy the 64 gb silver version, but will buy the 128 gb version if needed.

I was warned and I went straight to the site and they were gone. I didnt was any time. Either way, there should be a way to either store or restore such items. Have you ever lost pictures that were so important to you that you couldnt sleep or eat for some time. I have and it wasnt fun. I'm glad that you were able to get yours unlike some of us.
I am still wondering why iTunes tries to confuse me every time I try to make changes in my preferences, telling me that I "don't have enough permissions", although I am the administrator.
That's clearly a fault. Whether it's an iTunes problem or a Windows problem I can't say at this time. If you search the Using iTunes for Windows forum for "permissions", you should find threads that can help you sort out this problem.
Then, changes to the format are not obvious, and I get no notice that I am burning music files as data.
If you click on a playlist and look at the lower-right of the iTunes window, it says right there what format it will use to burn the playlist. -
When my 6 year old daughter plays the free games that I have downloaded for her IPAD and IPOD, I am now getting upgrade charges on these free games to my AMEX Card. Why is this happening and how do I get my AMEX card off of the IPAD and IPOD?
She is making in app purchases. Probably not knowing what that means to your monthly credit card bill. Use the Settings app to enable restrictions and turn on restrictions for iTunes, App Store and in app purchases, mabe some others too. The restrictions will be set with a passcode to prevent your daughter from changing them.

I have CDs, legally purchased and uploaded to iTunes (v9.1.0.79)...they were on a harddrive and now I tried to play on my new computer (iTunes v11.0.2.26), but whilst the files appear intact they skip through each song in seconds...why? and how to fix?
I don't recognise the symptoms as such, but here are a couple of things to try.
Check all tracks
Unchecked tracks are skipped during normal track to track playback. Go to the Songs view and CTRL-click on an empty checkbox, or CTRL-click on a filled one twice. This will ensure all tracks are checked.
Repair permissions
To make sure that your iTunes folder (or media folder if located separately) has the correct permissions, right-click on the folder and click Properties, then go to the Security tab and click Advanced. If necessary grant your account and SYSTEM full control to this folder, subfolders and files, then tick the option to replace permissions on child objects which will repair permissions throughout the library. This is the XP dialog but later versions of Windows shouldn't be too different.
You can also clear the Read-Only flag for the entire library from the Properties dialog.

I am interested in buying a macbook laptop. I am confused however in which one I should buy for the type of work that I will be doing. I either am looking into getting a macbook pro or the macbook air. I am leaning more towards the air.
A basic MBA will be more than adequate. Take into consideration that storage may be a long term issue unless you are not averse to traveling with an external HDD.

i ordered my iphone 6 plus space gray 128g on 10/20/2014. i was then given a 11/7 ship date. called on 11/6 to confirm as i received no update emails. verizon said everything was fine then got an email a few hours later saying they were out of supply and gave me a 11/21 ship date. guess what, i called again on the 19th and 20th to confirm and verizon said i was all set. oh yea got another email later saying 12/12 ship date!!! Is anyone accountable at verizon? will i ever really get my phone? i've seen people on this forum order later than me and get their phone quicker
I looked in the My Orders section of my Verizon account this morning (12/22), My SG iPhone 6+ 1228GB is now listed under my Recent Orders and my card was charged yesterday, So I am thinking it will ship Monday morning. This is how the process went for my wife's S 64GB 6+ two weeks ago. This is an interesting turn of events since I was also one to receive the email on Thursday about it being pushed back to 12/12 I'll keep you all posted.

After the latest apple IOS upgrade my 3 apple products, an imac, a macbook air and a macbook, lost their contact with their external hard disks. They were LaCie make. And every time I turn my laptops, I find the positions of the keys on their keyboards changed. Why is Apple silent? There are so many people complaining about this issue and expecting Apple to correct this issue that they have created.
Probably because it's not an Apple issue. I have Lacie EHD's connected to my MBAir and iMac, all work perfectly on Mavericks. In addition I don't have any keyboard issues on any of my Apple products. BTW IOS is only for IOS devices such as iPads, iPods and iPhones, Macs use OS X. The two OS's are seperate products designed to run on seperate products.
