Why did Photo stream not sync in iCloud

Why didn't photo stream sync with iCloud on? I turned it on for both devices.

Photo stream only adds photos taken on your device after turning it on.  Earlier photos aren't added.  New photos are added when the camera is closed, the device is connected to wifi and it has at least 20% battery life remaining.  Both devices also have to be sharing the same iCloud account to receive photos from your photo stream.  (If they aren't sharing the same iCloud account you would have to create a shared photo stream album and share this with your other device.  This article discusses how to do this: http://help.apple.com/icloud/#mmc0cd7e99.)
Try taking a new photo on one of your devices, close the camera app, then be sure you are connected to wifi.  Then see if it streams to your other device (assuming it is signed into the same iCloud account).

  • Windows 7 Photo Stream not syncing after iCloud 3.0

HELP!  I am a relatively new to the IPhone community.  My husband bought me one for Christmas 2013.  I have the IPhone 5s .  Like many users, I want to be able to back up the pictures I take and or receive on my phone to my computer.  I have a Dell laptop running on Windows 7.  I downloaded iCloud 3.0 and have the checked off the box next to Photos.  I also have Photos turned on in the ICloud settings on my phone.  I experienced this problem back in April, where my photos were not syncing to my computer. I contacted Apple Support, and he ran several tests.  I took a couple of pictures, and they started syncing.  While I was not able to get all of my photos, I had the majority of them and I figured the problem was solved and would continue to sync from there on out.
I just checked this past weekend and saw none of my recent photos were there.  I proceeded to google the subject, tried deleting the ICloud control panel and redownloaded it, and then forced a backup on my phone.  It only backed up 87 of the 517 photos I have in my Photo Stream.  I tried these trouble shooting options below but once again, only have 90 of the 517 photos I have:
    1. Open Task Manager (ctrl, alt and delete) and end ApplePhotoStream.exe and AppltPhotoStreamDownloader.exe if they’re running.
    2. Go to your Users folder and navigate to the following path: C:\Users\\AppData\Roaming\Apple Computer\MediaStream\
    3. Delete everything in that folder.
These files are a local cache of what has already been synced but it appears to get stuck so deleting these files forces it to resync again from scratch.
    4. Open iCloud Control Panel and make sure “Photos” are checked.
The above steps force re-downloading of images after any stuck point. It should make sure that your newer images are downloaded.
My husband has an IPhone as well, and his photos sync no problem to his IPad.  I am assuming this works better since they are both Apple Products.  Can someone please help me resolve this issue as I would like to be able to get my photos on my computer so I can delete some of them off my phone?

If the missing photos were added to photo stream more than 30 days ago they are no longer in iCloud (although they may still be on your your phone).  In that case, to get the older photos to stream to your computer you can add them to a shared stream on your phone (see http://help.apple.com/icloud/#/mmc0cd7e99).  (Note: when creating the shared stream, you don't have to invite any subscribers.  As the owner of the shared stream you are automatically subscribed to it; just skip that step.)  Another option is to save them to the camera roll on the phone and import them to your computer using your usb cable, as explained here: iOS: Import personal photos and videos from iOS devices to your computer.

  • Why do my photo stream not sync between iPhone 4S & iPad?  Some pics do but not all

Why does the photo stream not sync between iPhone 4S & iPad?  Some pics do, some don't.

    Welcome to the Apple Community.
        1.    Photostream only syncs photos over Wi-Fi, make sure you are connected to Wi-Fi to begin with.
        2.    Photostream only syncs when the camera app is closed, ensure it is closed.
        3.    Photostream only syncs when the battery is above 20%, try recharging the device
Try disabling photo stream on your device (settings > iCloud), restarting your device and then re-enabling photo stream.
Note: disabling photostream and re-enabling it will result in any photos that are currently in the photostream album on your device, that are older than 30 days old, not being added back.

  • Why does photo stream not work on 4g

Hi, I have a iPhone and a Mac and an iCloud account, but why does photo stream not work on 4g, but as soon as I connect to wifi, it send photos to photo stream, can please tell why it does not send photos to photo stream when on 4g, thanks.

The data requirements for sending potentially many photos can be too taxing/costly on a carrier's data plan.

  • Iphone contacts and photos is not syncing to iCloud

iphone contacts and photos is not syncing to iCloud

I also have this problem, just from the iPhone 5s which makes my life crazy, too.
The problem of having multiple devices doesn't seem to help, but the odd part is when everything I am doing is correct, it still doesn't sync like it used to do before iCloud, and when we had to USB wire connect the iPhone to the Laptop to make contacts sync.
Might I add that I am not using MAIL on my LAPTOP?
but ?Britty sounds like her issue is easier as gmail sometimes can create duplicates so you are in good if you are not having that problem or nightmare...
IF ANYONE ELSE can PLEASE ADD to this THREAD? I would be thankful
as there seems to be a TRENDING on iPhone 5s not syncing with other devices or backwards.....(I have added contacts to the iPhone 5s and they never get added to the iCloud or the iPad or the Addressbook or CONTACTS on the LAPTOP....
This should be working and I have checked the CONTACTS on the laptop GROUPS , iCloud, vs ALL ON MY MAC
it just isn't syncing and in some cases I am getting a WEB DAV error or CAL error...-1
what is that? iCloud will not sync all contacts?
    something is crazy
but I want to remain at 10.8 MOUNTAIN LION and not upgrade to MAVERICKS......or use MAIL on my LAPTOP...just CONTACTS ONLY......

  • Why is photo stream not synching across multiple devices?

I am using an iPad, iMac, iPhone and MacBook Pro - all with Photo Stream enabled on the same account - yet the photos in my individual photo streams are no identical across all. There are a handful of photos that in the stream that I can find on all of my devices, but at the same time, each device also has a number (sometimes quite a few) that are only on that particular device, despite it appearing on that device's photo stream.  How can I sync them so that they all have the same photos? I thought that was the purpose of photo stream...

Photostream is streaming, not syncing service. So every device that you have will have photos from the time that photostream was enabled on that device. As long as photostream folder exists in your iphoto, you can force pictures into it. Just move or copy those pictures in photostream folder in iphoto on your Macs. They will get moved into icloud and downloaded to other devices. Remember that photostream is not designed to hold your pictures forever, just 30 days or 1000 pictures. Once 30 days is over it still stays on your computers, but is not in the cloud anymore.

  • Photo stream not syncing to other devices

I have an iPhone, iPad and Macbook but can not get my photo streams to sync on all my devices. Example I have 5 different streams on my phone but they are not visible on my macbook and iPad

    Hi Carolyn Samit & Kyled75,
I'm having almost a similar issue with my two iDevices. I have an iPad 3 and an iPhone 6 Plus and both of them have exactly the same settings for iCloud as well as "Photos & Camera". Photo Stream is enabled on both devices.
But when I go to "Photos -> Albums -> My Photo Stream" or simply in the main Photos Section, I cannot see all my previous photos and videos on my iPhone. However, on my iPad, I can see each and every photo and video perfectly without any hassle.
I really hope to get some help on this issue.

  • Photo stream not syncing

so i have a iphone 4s a ipad2, apple tv and i have recently downloaded icloud for pc. My problem is that my photos are not syncing to each device. they all have different images under photostream although they are logged in under the same icloud account. The main pictures are taken from my iphone so what i have done is copied the images from the camera roll on my iphone and copied them into the photostream folder in the icloud software on my pc. when i then turn the photostream software back on on my ipad it only brings back a few clipart images that were saved locally on the ipad months ago from a colouring app.
on the applt tv it is the same thing it will only bring in a few images but these are not the same as what opens on the ipad they are from my phone but only a few. also since i copied the pics from the camera roll on my phone the photostream on my phone has reduced in size also but nothing like the ipad or apple tv
    any help would be appreciated

Here's a little more detail on what happens.  When you take a photo on your phone it's saved to the camera roll.  When the photo app is closed, you are connected to wifi and your phone has at least 20% battery life remaining, it will then upload to photo stream in iCloud.  Once there, iCloud will stream a "device optimized" copy of the photo to your iOS devices and Apple TV, and a full resolution copy to your computer.  Once on your devces, a rolling collection of up to 1000 photos will remain on your devices until deleted.  However, they only stay in iCloud for 30 days (even though they remain on any device that has already received them).  Because of this, when you connect a new device to your photo stream, it downloads all the photo stream photos still in iCloud; which are only the phtoos from the last 30 days.  This creates a situation where you may have old photo stream photos on your phone than the ones you have on other devices, which were connect to your photo stream at a later date.
To get these older photos to appear on your other iOS devices, you can add them to a shared photo stream and invite yourself.  To get them to your PC, save them to your camera roll (tap Edit, tap the photos, tap Share, tap Save to Camera Roll), then import them using your usb cable as explained here: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4083.

  • Photo stream not sync everything

HI, I have a problem with photo stream.
ON Friday, we had some party and all of my pictures I've made on iPhone 6 (latest update) were synced Correctly to photo stream and I could see them on iPad (also latest iOS update). However yesterday, we were on trip and I've also made some photos. The problem is that when we got back home (and connected to wifi), it doesn't sync the photos to photo stream. The iPhone had  more than 70% of battery. When I made some picture at home, it synced it but not the photos from trip.
    ANy idea why?

yes, that will probably work, however, it's not the solution. It should work automatically.
btw, yesterday, the photos synced somehow itself. Don't know why it took so long time (photos were made in Saturday and sync on Tuesday). After that I decided to try the iCloud photo library beta. Seems better than the photo stream.

  • Photo Stream not syncing on iPhone 6

I just recently got an iPhone 6 and my photo stream is not working. I have over 750 photos in my iPad photo stream that will not sync to my iPad. I feel like I've tried everything. I've restarted my iPhone, signed in and out of iCloud and turned photo stream off and on.
    PLEASE HELP!!!!

    Hi Blackk05,
Thanks for visiting Apple Support Communities.
It sounds like your Photo Stream may not be appearing on your iPhone 6. I know it can be worrying to not see your photos, and I can help you find the My Photo Stream album.
If you would like to access My Photo Stream on your iPhone 6, first make sure you have updated it to iOS 8.1:
Update the iOS software on your iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch
Once you've updated, and made sure Photo Stream is turned ON, the My Photo Stream album should appear in the Photos app under Albums.
See this link for more help with the Photos app:

    All the best,

  • Aperture photos from Photo Stream not syncing in iTunes

    Hi
I am running Aperture 3.4.3 on an iMac running 10.8.2.  I have Photo Stream enabled.  When I open Aperture, it downloads all the recent photos from Photo Stream and puts them in to one or more automatically created projects called something like "Mar 2013 Photo Stream".  As I understand it, Aperture is copying the photos from Photo Stream to these new projects, so when Photo Stream eventually deletes the photos (say because I reach the 1000 photo limit), the downloaded versions in Aperture won't affected.  So far, so good.
Because the new projects in Aperture start with the month name, I have taken to renaming these folders to something like "2013 03 March Photo Stream", and you can then sort them alphabetically.  This might be red herring though.
When I open iTunes and connect my iPhone, I have selected to sync photos from all Events in the last 12 months.  This should include all the projects that were created in Aperture.  This is where I hit the problem.  Some of the projects sync just fine.  Others do not.  When they don't sync, 2 things happen:
    1. The Events don't appear on the iPhone
    2. When I look in iTunes, all the affected Events have the same item count.  The item count is correct for one project, but not the others.  So, for example, I have 4 projects at the moment that won't sync, and all show in iTunes with an item count of 1.  Only one project actually contains 1 photo, the rest have many more.
I have tried all sorts of things in Aperture, such as rebuilding the data, deleting the iPod Photo Cache etc.
    Does anyone have any idea?
    Thanks.

As far as I can tell, my problems have been caused by me renaming the automatic import projects in Aperture.  I did notice that Aperture kept creating new empty projects for the same month.
This solution from Jannem1970, posted on this thread https://discussions.apple.com/thread/3585677?start=0&tstart=0, seems to have done the trick for me.
    - turn off automatic import for Photo Stream;
    - identify 'the ghost'-projectfolders, select and delete them;
    - close Aperture (this saves the current setting and condition of your library);
    - open Aperture again;
    - turn on automatic import for Photo Stream.

  • Photo Stream not syncing all photos

    Hi,
I'm experiencing some issues where Aperture Photo Stream is not syncing every photo to iCloud. I've successfully shared a number of projects but there are a few that just get stuck and only seem to sync some of the photos and the same ones each time. For example I've a project with 36 photos of which only 22 will sync which I've recreated a few times with exactly the same result each time.
I'm fully up to date with OS and Aperture and I've rebuilt permissions and the library and have deleted and recreated the Photo Stream a few times. All the photos are referenced and I've rebuilt the image previews in the project(s) concerned.
Looking in the Console log the only message I'm seeing which is indicating a problem are these which look related but give no further information or indication:
    Aperture: invalid share context
    Aperture: invalid context
    Any help appreciated.
    Matt

WOW! That font is difficult to read. But, see if this support document helps you http://support.apple.com/kb/TS3989. Photos stream is based on date and photos more than 30 days old are removed. Photostream is designed as a temporary storage to allow you to download the photos to the computer.

  • Why is Photo stream not updating on my MacBook?

Photostream is still very, very slow which is a little disappointing.. I have a very fast 100mbps down and 5mbps up Cable Internet connection so there is no problem there.
The main problem tha I have is the iPhoto seems to not want to update the Photostream. The photos have been slow to appear on ATV 2 and the iPad but have not appeared in iPhoto at all.
    Any thoughts or tips?
    Thanks in advance.

Forgive the obvious questions, but you don't say what you've tried.
Is the MacBook signed into the same iCloud account as the iPad and the ATV?
Did you turn on Photo Stream in the iCloud Panel of System Preferences?
Did you turn on Enable Photo Stream AND Automatic Import on the Photo Stream panel of Preferences... in iPhoto?

  • Photo Stream not syncing on my PC

We just bought a new PC with Windows 8. Photos from my iPhone 5 are not syncing to my Photo Stream folder. I have changed the path..I have restarted my computer, etc. I'm pretty sure I've tried everything. I must be missing something.....

Try turning off photo stream on your PC, then turn it back on without changing the default location.  Then take a new photo on one of your devices and see if it appears on your PC now.  (I've seen a number of posts indicating that changing the default location isn't working properly for them when using iCloud control panel version 3.)
