Why did the Apple TV update remove "home movies" from the computer option in Apple tv?
AApple TV auto updated. 22 sept 2014. Most of the movies I have on my iMac were under itunes as "home movies". The Apple TV update removed the ability to see home movies in the "computer" option in Apple tv. I can see them on my iMac, but no longer have access thru my Apple tv. I can still see the few that are physically in "movies" in iTunes, but the Apple TV will now only show them. Thanks

What is the best way to do this? I have about 500 video clips that I want to move from one computer to another. I've tried using the export function in iPhoto but all I get upon transfer is a single frame of the movie. I keep the files on an external HD but I can't find where they are stored. I see the iPhoto app to open but not the original files. Additionally, whenever I do locate these files, how can I get them transferred with the keywords assigned to them? TIA! I'm not sure you can assign keywords to a movie on export, as these are written to the exif metadata of a photo and most video has no such metadata.
You say you've tried the export function in iPhoto, but what settings have you used? Exporting with the Kind set to Original should yield the videos.

I normally don't rant, but this is a killer feature removal, and the reason given is for aesthetics - 'Removal of clutter" is how it's worded here:

And your answer is ambiguous and doesn't solve the issue that you created to make things prettier: "Click the AutoCorrect Options button" Then what? ADD EACH WORD MANUALLY?
Please advise ALL OF US that want this feature back how to have our commonly misspelled words fixed and added automatically to the dictionary. If I am missing this in a major way somehow, I apologize completely and will issue a public apology via any
social media platform of your choice. If it really is gone, and I have to manually add the entries into a buried table 6-clicks deep, then I will issue a public excoriation of this feature on as many social platforms of my choice.

To make Word 2013 cleaner and less cluttered, we removed AutoCorrect and certain formatting tools from the spelling error context menu. The features are still available in Word 2013 through other entry points within the Word user interface.

Thanks, MAXIMUSMicrosoft used to be about allowing users to customize the OS and apps however they want. This was one reason I have always preferred Windows over Mac. There are 5 ways to do any one thing, and you can customize it to do it however you want. It's all about
user choice. Please don't go the way of Apple and force users into the way that you *think* we should do things.

While I whole heartedly agree with this suggestion, if you look through this blog about the design decisions that went into the 2007 ribbon:

You'll see that one of the considerations of the ribbon was to ELIMINATE/REDUCE customization because it was costing large corporate customers too much time/money to support their users with 2003 customized menu/toolbars. In other words, the ribbon
was intentionally built as a fixed design so that average user cannot change it. The QAT was an afterthought, a sop, to allow users minimal customization.
They found that the 2007 lock down was too much of a "good thing", too much like the good old "IBM 360 green screen" (even if most people don't recognize the reference), so in 2010 they
re-introduced limited Ribbon customization within the UI.
But you still can't customize the default tabs. And to add injury to insult, if you do want to customize a default tab and go to the effort of trying to recreate the default tabs and groups
within the Ribbon UI, you'll eventually find that YOU CAN'T'! There is no way inside the UI to force the buttons to layout the same way! AHHH!

EXPERTS have had the option of creating custom Ribbons/tabs by editing XML, but that is pretty serious programming, out of scope for 99% of users.
The "solution" to the problem was too simple. Just add an option to allow users to turn on the old menu UI. Even if it had been buried as a registry hack, the people who really wanted it would have learned about it. Then MS could have collected statistics
on usage that would have "proved" that the menu was preferred over the ribbon. The thing is, if the ribbon was defaulted "out of the box", over time people would eventually all switch over to it. Simply because it was the default, because MS only produced
new training material referring for the ribbon
Now, I'll concede that the ribbon really may be more "intuitive", but only for new users. For long time users the change is very jarring.
They made the same choice with Windows 8. In the last Windows 8 consumer Preview there was a registry hack to bypass the Start Screen. I learned about it in July or August. But MS was so sure the Start screen/metro was the only way to go they
rushed out a Windows Update to eliminate that registry entry. And it was eliminated from the RTM version.
WHY?
Why did they remove the user's right to chose the UI that worked best for them? I don't know.

ITunes update removes essential software from my computer, which means I can't use the Internet.
Two days ago, I updated iTunes to the latest version, but it appears that during the installation, vital software was removed from my computer. The result was that I couldn't access the Internet after the installation. I then did a system restore to get my computer back to how it was before I installed the new iTunes, with the result that the essential Internet file is back, but I can no longer open iTunes. I am getting the message that I need to change to the English version! I never selected any other version during the installation and in any case there was no such option. I simply pressed the "Download update" from within iTunes.
I have tried re-installing iTunes, but I keep getting the same result and have to keep reverting so that I can use the Internet. Has anyone come across this problem? How do I resolve it?Okay than this definitely was not Apple. Apple support techs never have access to your mouse. It sounds like this company installed some software on your Mac. It is hard to tell what their intentions are but just assume in these situations that all your data was compromised. Possibly all your online accounts have been compromised such as social networks, banks, etc.. The smartest thing to do would be to change all of your passwords and reinstall OS X on your Mac. It sounds extreme but that's what happens when a 3rd party company gains control of your computer.

lena) I don't know if the update went wrong because I don't know what the correct current version number is. But my Bridge seems correct (6.1.0.116 x64), as does my Camera Raw (see letter c) below). When I do an update, I am told that all my programs are up-to-date. I will admit that I have not checked my Light Room 5.
b) Based on the Photoshop User magazine, I am missing at least these (all I've tested for so far):
o Flame & Tree generators
o Select-->Focus Area
o Blur Gallery (incl Spin & Path blur)
c) But I do have these:
o Camera Raw as a Filter
o Camera Raw Radial Filter
d) I am using Photoshop CC subscription on an HP desktop computer with 6GB memory.
Once again, it would be great to know what the correct current version numbers are.

Why did the update of my iphone4 to the IOS 6, lose my UTube icon, and was replaced with a Passbook app.
Apple is no longer supporting YouTube with a native application starting with iOS 6.0. The "old" YouTube application was automatically removed when you upgraded, and it no longer exists in the new iOS. There are however, numerous third-party apps in the App Store which will allow you to view YouTube, including one from Google, which is the parent company for YouTube. Passbook is a new application to iOS 6.0 and is not at all related to YouTube.

Why did the recent update to ios 7.0.4 use up all my storage (over 9 GB)? I have no storage for music and apps. There is over 9GB designated to "other" under usage now. I only have 16 GB total.
Text, the best way is to take screen shots, or if you can forward them to your email. Your notes are either saved by your email or with icoud. They can help you find out where they are saved at.
The resest is easy. I would say it best to also save your photos on your computer as well as a extra back up so you can also see them. Depending if you have Mac use Iphoto and import all photos, Windows use I am drawing a blank, but you can go to your start menue and then your phone will show up as a removable device and then left click and transfer photos and videos.
After that you will be set. But it will take a bit to get all of your text taken care of thought.
Also if you have non-programed email address like Roadrunner ect. You will need the incomming and out going server information SMTP ect. -

The problem is that the Add-ons Manager tab when opened the first time, is on "Get Add-ons" section and that must be downloaded from the Add-ons server which might be overburdened.

The battery has a cycle count of 101 and is listed in good condition and @ 2 years old. The 'genius' said it was 'normal' and NOT defective. And was probably because I left it plugged in most of the time.
I remined him how the lithium ion battery and its associated charging system are supposed to be very sophisticated and are reported to not overcharge the battery and to extend its life. I also cited where I had read that the swelling usually occurrs when a battery does not ventilate properly,
I asked him why the five other Apple laptops I owned for years never had that 'normal' condition.

Respond please!Depending upon what country that you are in (music can't be re-downloaded in all countries) then see if you can redownload your past music purchases (those that are still in the store) via the Purchased link under Quick Links on the right-hand side of the iTunes store home page on your computer's iTunes : re-downloading.
If you are not in a country where music can currently be re-downloaded, then have you not got it on your computer and/or on a backup ? Why did the app store make me purchase Pages again? I already bought Pages, Numbers and Keynote for my Ipad and want to download them onto my Mac Book and they aren't in the purchases tab. I thought I would try clicking on the buy button for Pages, thinking, it would say I already purchased this app, but it didn't. Where are all my purchases? I used the same Apple ID I use for all my Apple devices. Help! I really don't want to buy them all again.
The version of Pages, Keynote and Numbers for the Mac will be different than the iOS version and will require a separate purchase.
