Why did the movie I rented from iTunes freeze and will not download?

I just rented a movie from the iTunes store and downloaded it. The download completed and I began watching the movie. Over an hour and a half into the movie it froze and now says an unknown error occured while downloading (even though no error message displayed before starting the movie) . Why is this? How do I get a refund or have the movie download properly? My connection is great just fyi.

As I mentioned in the first post. It shoudl be in the videos app.
Itunes is only the itunes music and video store. Nothing is stored there.
You need to open the videos app.

Great, so now I have to airplay it by linking my computer to my Apple TV and then the movie has to buffer! So, all that time I spent downloading the HD video has to technically "download" again by buffering. The more I use Apple TV, the more I feel like this item was not created by Apple. I don't even use it for what I originally purchased it for. If I would have known that anytime I wanted to sync a movie from my computer to Apple TV by using airplay that it would have to buffer the movie, I would have never ever ever ever ever purchased this waste of time device. So the video has to technically play all the way through one time first so Apple TV can "remember" the movie to play it back in real time afterwards.
Am I missing something here? Am I doing something wrong that can be fixing my problem? I should have known that the Apple TV had so many things backwards when simple things like when you are using the remote and you reach the bottom of your list, in order to cycle back to the top of your list you have then press the directional buton back the other way rather than most modern day devices that will automatically cycle you back to the top or to the other side when you reached the bottom or end but keep on pressing the button. That **** annoys me when I am doing a search for a movie and have to type the name in manually and have to cycle back and forth to the letters. It makes me feel like I am using a rotary phone or something!

I was told by someone to try and purchase something directly from my Apple TV and that will help authorize my Apple TV. So I picked something that was free and it downloaded.
Then I went back to the Movie that would not work and it played just fine.
So it seemed to work. I will have to try it on other movies and TV shows later.

I have tried both uninstalling the software and reinstalling it, I have tried to run the software in safemode, and I have tried to change the Quicktime settings to see if that helps.
Nothing has worked. It always does the same thing, where it freezes the moment I tell it to "play".
I have tried to use my other computer instead, going through the same process and I got the exact same result where it freezes.
Therefore it has to be something to do with the software, because the computers use different graphics cards, yet it responds the same.

Also, I suggest paying close attention to the list of programs that you would need to uninstall, in order, so that you can fully uninstall iTunes and all related components from your computer. If those programs and steps are not followed exactly, you may end up with issues using iTunes.

As long as the film has been fully downloaded then you should be able to watch it whilst offline.

You own it. You can watch it a million times if you want to do so. The videos app is misbehaving. Try this first.
Quit the videos app completely and reboot the iPad. Go to the home screen first by tapping the home button. Double tap the home button and the recents tray will appear with all of your recent apps displayed at the bottom. Tap and hold down on any app icon until it begins to wiggle. Tap the minus sign in the upper left corner of the app that you want to close. Tap the home button or anywhere above the task bar.
Reboot the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider if it appears on the screen - let go of the buttons. Let the iPad start up.

My iPhone 4 has been saying You do not have permission to access the requested resource whenever I try to watch one of the episodes I bought from iTunes. It will not let me watch them and I don't know why.

A few days ago I bought a season of the series Psych off of iTunes. I was able to watch the first bunch without a problem but now all of a sudden when I try to watch one it says "You do not have permission to access the requested resource". I tried restarting my phone but that do not help. I cleared up a lot of space on my phone as well. I have and iPhone 4 with the update of iOS 6.1.3.

Are you using the same Apple ID that the purchase was linked to? I had this issue with a shared device, and the other person had logged out of my ID and logged in with hers.
If it's the same ID, then try redownloading the purchase.

ITUNES FREEZES AND WILL NOT CLOSE

Sometimes while my ipod is syncing or when I am deleting something, itunes freezes. I cannot close it at all. It doesn't effect the rest of the computer. I cannot get rid of it unless I restart the computer and I can't keep doing it, its becoming an annoyance. I've reinstalled 4 times and it doesn't seem to be working. PLEASE HELP!

I have a 160gig classic that I got for christmas but I've been having the scan and fix problem for some time now maybe since March. July 22nd I updated my iTunes and when I tried to manually add an album to my ipod iTunes froze and I had to ctrlatldel to close it. The end result was me losing about 60gbs of music, movies, and podcasts. Before then I've never had any problems with iTunes freezing EVER. After that everytime I plugged my iPod in iTunes froze until finally I got the chance to restore my iPod. I am currently waiting for someone to assist me via chat, but since that doesn't seem to be happening any time soon, I thought I'd try this as well.
I am trying to download Illustrator and Photoshop via creative cloud. It won't even get passed 37% on illustrator before it freezes and my internet stops working. Any idea why?
It also seems to start off incredibly slow, as in it took something like 10+ minutes to get to 2%. I've never had a problem with my internet doing this before so I am confused.
Starting to think Creative Cloud is as awful as I have read about. I took a chance hoping it'd be a good change but so far it has been nothing but problems!

HT5772 I would like to delete the movies I rented from iTunes. I have deleted them. But I can't seem to delete them from e trash, its say that the movie or mp4 is still in use. My Mac HD is almost full. How do i resolve this problem. Thanks

You've tried closing iTunes and rebooting your Mac and seeing if you can delete them after your Mac has restarted ?

I have been trying to download a ringtone that I just purchased from iTunes, but it will not download. It keeps saying "Download error. Tap to retry." And everytime I press "retry," it is saying "UNABLE TO DOWNLOAD RINGTONE" I just did the 7.0.2 update.

I venture to say you have a Windows PC.
If so, before beginning the download try temporarily disabling your antivirus, anti-adware, anti-spyware, and any other anti-whatever that is required with the insecure OS your computer is running.

Ok I give up after searching for over 2 hours now for a movie I rented from itunes. I used my MacBook Pro but after the movie downloaded I turned the MacBook off because I wanted to watch it later. Now for the life of me I can not find that damm movie. Can someone help me out? I searched the internet but all I found where frustrated posts from people with the same problem. This is rediculous. It shouldn't be this difficult.

If you have downloaded it directly to your iPad then open the Videos app and go to the Rentals tab.
