Why did they remove iTunes radio?

I was wondering if they removed it temporarly or forever, since after the second day of using it it disappeared from my music app. This also happened to one of my friends it's still not back its been 1 week since this happened? I have done resets to see if it would be there again but it wasn't.

I know this is an old post and so the individual who posed the question may not read my answer.  However, I too had this issue.  What you do is you go to itunes click the Itunes tab on the top (where you have your apple logo if you're using a mac) and go into your settings, then check off Internet Radio and anything else you want displayed (ie songs, albums, genres, podcasts).  Then hit save. Then exit your itunes and open it up again... next to songs, albums ,etc... you should see a tab or icon called Internet.  That's your radio.  I hope it helps

  • Why did they remove Weed Firm,

Why did they remove Weed Firm from the app store. Its not the app stores fault that the parents let their kids have an iphone and didnt controll what they download if you dont want your kid playing stuff like that dont buy them an iphone. Their is still a community of users who would like to play the game but cannot because it has been removed. If your child is so dumb that they have to imitate what ever they play dont get them age rated stuff. There is such things as parental locks. So why should a community of users suffer because of a few.

  • Why did they change itunes. i do not like it. miss the album scroll

why did they change itunes. i do not like it. miss the album scroll and ablum cover in bootom corner.

I love the new version of Grid view but some of the other changes feel like they still need some fine tuning. And I miss cover flow even if I didn't use it that often...
You can restore much of the look & feel of the previous version with these shortcuts:
Ctrl+B to turn on the menu bar
Ctrl+S to turn on the sidebar (your device should be listed here as before)
Ctrl+/ to turn on the status bar
Click the magnifying glass top right and untick Search Entire Library to restore the old search behaviour
Use View > Hide <Media Kind> in the cloud or Edit > Preferences > Store and untick Show iTunes in the cloud purchases to hide the cloud items. The second method eliminates the cloud status column (and may let iTunes start up more quickly)
Should you still feel the need to roll back to iTunes 10.7 first download a copy of the 32 bit installer or 64 bit installer as appropriate, uninstall iTunes and suppporting software, i.e. Apple Application Support & Apple Mobile Device Support. Reboot. Restore the pre-upgrade version of your library database as per the diagram below, then install iTunes 10.7.
See iTunes Folder Watch for a tool to scan the media folder and catch up with any changes made since the backup file was created.

  • Why did they remove the code validator in DWCS5??!!!

I just noticed that some had to create an extension to reinstall the page validator for CS5. Why on earth did they remove this feature???

Adobe is always reviewing Dreamweaver to identify underpowered or little used features which are no longer relevant, or better alternatives exist, in today's market.
Occasionally their research and conclusions seem to be off course with the majority of users. Radical action, such as dropping the feature, may taken too early.
They made a call by dropping the in-built DW validator in CS5 but, apparently, it's still wanted. I never use it personally but plenty still do apparently. It may yet find itself living on borrowed time though.
The antiquated Timelines feature in earlier versions was another example of a feature which was pulled prematurely (back in MM days) and quickly reinstated via a patch following a concerted user campaign. It was eventually dropped in later versions when the time was right.

  • Why did they remove the arrows and shuttle wheel?

It annoyed me to no end when years ago Adobe removed the shuttle wheel from After Effects, and now they did it with Premiere. What's the point of that? And even worse, now they also removed the arrow buttons on each side of the timeline. Are you freaking kidding me? With all the great improvements that Premiere CS6 has, and they removed an elemental tool for moving in the timeline? Try to move that stupid zoom slider when you are zoomed in to where the whole timeline is showing just about ten or fifteen seconds, and it makes the timeline fly at the speed of light in either direction. At best, you can use the mouse wheel to move a little bit, but that is slow as hell. It would be a good idea for Adobe's programmers to have this phrase as their first rule: "Don't fix it if it ain't broken"
Althought the zoom slider is a nice little addition, it's not a replacement for the arrow buttons. Sometimes, you need to move a couple of clips ahead or backwards, and the arrow buttons are the best way to do it. It would also be good for Adobe to copy the best of other NLEs, in this case from Vegas, which has the best way to navigate the timeline. Mouse wheel up or down, zooms in or out. Mouse wheel with shift pressed at the same time, scrolls the timeline at a speed that actually is useful. This zoom slider movement is so fast it's ridiculous and useless. If at least they included an option to set the speed for scrolling, it might be of some use, or at least if they also included an option to set the speed of scrolling with the mouse wheel, it would also be useful. But the way it is now it's useless and makes the editor waste a lot of time.

Mouse wheel up or down, zooms in or out. Mouse wheel with shift pressed at the same time, scrolls the timeline at a speed that actually is useful.
That should be reversed, where the wheel alone will scroll at a usable speed and the modifier plus wheel will zoom.
Of course, that's how it used to work.  Adobe 'fixed' this, too.

  • Why did they remove "Save As..." from Lion?  Frustrating!!!

Tried to save my Numbers spreadsheet under a different name. No "Save As..."
So, had to look for an answer. Wasting time...
Found I have to use Duplicate.... what a waste of time! Why do they change stuff that has been standard for years! And it worked! Fixing stuff that wasn't broken!! And then you don't find out about it until you need it.

Duplicate is not really the same thing. At least I haven't found it is. Now I'm very new to Lion and haven't found all of it's New Features yet. But it's frustrating trying to figure out what they've done to Work Flow that has been established for years. For example
I have a spreadsheet that I want to save under a different name... not just the same name with Copy appended. But in Lion... now I'm forced to Duplicate... Here's the Flow now:
    Duplicate
    Close duplicated file
Go to Finder, find the Copy, change the name to the one I want.
    Go back to Numbers.
File Open (thank goodness they kept that Control!)
Find the file I just changed the name of
    Open
Now, is that efficient, or what?
Wasn't it MUCH simpler using "Save As..."!! One step, versus Six!!
    What am I missing?

  • Why did they remove the second alert for Calendars ??

I saw that this software update has taken away the second alert that could be added to calendar entries ?
Why would they do that ?

    I see what happened.

It then changed my default calendar to the echange calendar, which does not accept 2 alerts.

  • IPod Album Art Cache - Why did they remove the feature to Sync Album Art?

So it appears that Apple removed the ability to enable/disable album art in the iPod configuration in recent versions of iTunes so that one can't turn it off and sync then turn it on and re-sync to reset all the album art once it gets jumbled on the iPod Classic. It seems that this was a useful feature to have. This has recently happed to me for the first time, so now I'm having to re-sync my complete music library of over 80gig and it's going to take all night (and finger's crossed that iTunes doesn't crash - which is why my artwork got jumbled in the first place). Did the old method of resync'ing just the Album Art Cache just cause a re-sync of the entire music catalog anyways? What's the deal?

It's not available with Itunes 11. Want to let Apple know you are unhappy?
They don't read here. Send them feedback through the proper channel:
    http://www.apple.com/feedback/itunesapp.html
The only way they will bring it back is if you send in enough complaints.

  • Why did Apple remove iTunes Dj in iTunes 11??????

I'm really sick of this trend. Apple insists on removing everything good that they actually do! It's like they continue to shoot themselves in the foot until there is nothing left to stand on. Aaaaaargggghhh! I just want iTunes DJ back!
    Why Apple? Why?
It's like their primary objective these days is to slap their customers in the face.
First Youtube, then Maps, then this?
They might as well replace the Apple logo with a logo of a big smelly.....

You are very welcome.  I'm happy you saw my post, and thanks for posting back and crediting me with a This helped me.  You deserve the real credit because your post gave me the drive to search for a better solution than the command-period shortcut even though the removal of the flag icon in iPhoto '11 has bugged me ever since I first starting using it.  I found an article where the author told about the gray flag icon on the top left corner of photos in the thumbnail view, but also criticized that it isn't in the view you really use to review pics.  The author then went into the command-period shortcut option.  What the author didn't mention and I brought to the solution was maximizing the zoom when in the thumbnail view.  I gave myself a pat on the back for that one!  lol

  • Why did they remove the "Just Added" section on the Music page??

It used to be, you could click on that, see all the new music that launched that day. Then, they updated it, and it wasn't in order anymore, but you could still see what launched, and now, that section has been removed. Why??? Has it moved somewhere else?

    Has it moved somewhere else?
Yes, it has moved.  The New Releases listing is now at Amazon MP3.  Click here.

  • Why did they remove the "today, this week, last week from finder side bar?

I searched the options and they were removed.

I don't know the "why" but I know how you can get them back. Go to Finder: File menu > New Smart Folder.
When the Finder window opens, click the '+' sign on the right hand side of the window.
Change the menu that says 'Kind' to 'Last Opened Date'. In the next menu along, change the 'is within last' to 'today' (or it might be 'last 24 hours', I forget). Hit Save.
Repeat the same procedure thing for 2 days, 1 week etc. (I'm not booted in to Lion at the moment, but in SL you could also actually enter the time period in an input box. You may also have this option.)

  • Why did they remove the "open iPod in new window" option in 7.5???

I used to be able to open my iPod Shuffle contents in a new window, which made it really easy to drop specific songs into the exact order I wanted. Now I can't open a second window and have to drag an entire playlist exactly where I want it and then move the unwanted songs or move a specific song ontop of the iPod icon and then have to go and pull it from the bottom and place where I want it on the Shuffle. I know this sounds petty and I can still get the songs/order on my Shuffle, but it's so much clunkier than it use to be. I hate when an upgrade "removes" functionality instead of enhancing it.

Well I can get another Window as follows:
Click on the little triangle to the left of the iPod symbol to open up the iPod's playlists.
Double click on Music and another window opens. I see you are using a Mac, but i guess it must be the same.

  • Why did they remove the (rainbow) emoticon?

Not going to lie, i actually really enjoyed that emoticon especially when arguing with homophobic people in a group chat so please put it back

For some strange reasons, the "rainbow" emoticon was during the last update (August 1) moved to "hidden emoticons". You can get this emoticon by typing (R) or (rainbow).
