Why did you not explain how to return a filled form via pdf file?

Why is there no explanation on how to return form via pdf file?'

Unfortunately, because IRS forms are XFA forms, the flattenPages method that the tool Gilad mentioned won't work, and neither will Preflight or PDF Optimizer.
You can fill-in and save the form with Acrobat or Reader, open it in Preview, and select: File > Print > PDF > Save as PDF
or "Save as Adobe PDF" for that last step. You may have to fiddle with the scaling to get it right.

  • HT2470 Why does this not explain how to change the sort order?

Why does this (i.e. support at Apple.com) not explain how to change the sort order? I can "arrange" by Date Modified for example but it won't let me switch to use most recent dates first. Also, what is Apple-speak for arrange versus sort anyway? It seems I used to be able to click on a column heading in finder and get a drop down arrow allowing me to change the sort sequence.

Arrange roughly translates to "group the items in the folder." Sort is how each group is ordered. If you have arrange set to none, you can sort by anything. However, there is no way in the Arrange/Sort menu to choose the direction. The only way to do that is in the List View, and you must have Arrangement set to None.
I've submitted an Enhancement Request to allow choosing sort direction from the Arrange/Sort menu, but I haven't ever gotten a response, which is good and bad. Good because they will often respond that they have considered it and don't plan on implementing. Bad in that they've haven't implemented it.

  • Lumia 928 - FM radio, Why did you not enable it ?

    Hey all,
I am really upset about this. For months I have been expecting and waiting GRD2 update to give me the FM radio feature and Now it finally comes down and it does not have FM radio on it. WHY ??????
Nokia publicy said that ONLY the Lumia 620 does not support FM radio. I can quote someone from the Nokia 800 number that the hardware supports it but waiting for the software update. I have seen on a site where the phone was pulled apart and confirmed it has the correct chipset for it. Microsoft enabled it in that version of the software (the version on my phone matches what Microsoft shows). With all the info that I have found, this phone 100% supports this feature, why was it not enabled ?
I use it to listen to sports radio, I can't get streaming but, I can get over local FM. Never mind streaming uses data as FM radio does not use any. MLB wants to charge me $40+ a year to stream games that I can get over FM.
This was a very long waited feature and I sold a HTC 8X to move to the Lumia 928, THe HTC 8X IS getting FM but, the high end 928 does not ?
The phone does not support it is BS, I want real reason WHY it was not enabled. Is this because Verizon did not want it enabled or is this because Nokia didn't want to enable it ?
No excuses any more, what is the story here ?

It's a bit silly to buy something and expect it to have a certain feature in the future based on rumours, not facts.
Several WP8 models lack the required internal hardware to enable FM radio and Nokia never claimed that these models would ever get that feature. The missing hardware could be antenna linkages or even chips but thats irrelevant because it is not possible to enable FM radio on those models. If you want an official statement you need to contact Nokia US directly as they are responsible for that model. The users and moderators of this forum don't have access to information about decisions between Nokia and Verizon on whether a feature should be included or not.
All you can do is either buy an external FM headset, live without the feature or sell your phone. Either way there is nothing more that can be said here or done about it. Arguing about who's fault it is or why it doesn't have it is just pointless.

  • I would like my google toolbar back and all my icons gmail and now with firefox 5 it is not compatiable why did you not ask me before taking them away with upgrade?????

I would like to roll back to previous version of Firefox that I had, because the upgrade took away Google toolbar which I loved and the g mail icons and Google this and that I had and now your Firefox is not compatible with Google tool bar so I cannot re-install them. Can I have the prior version back of Firefox.

Extensions for Firefox, such as the Google Toolbar, include a list of compatible Firefox versions. Currently, the Google Toolbar only goes up to Firefox 4. However, people have tested and it actually works on Firefox 5, so there are two workarounds:
    (1) Edit a file to revise the range of compatible versions
    (2) Install an add-on that lets you ignore the range of compatible versions
This thread has info on both approaches: [https://support.mozilla.com/en-US/questions/837142 google toolbar does not work with firefox 5.0. why not! | Firefox Support Forum | Firefox Help].
    Any luck?
Oh, and due to security vulnerabilities, rolling back to Firefox 4.0.1 is not recommended.

  • IMessage, why did you not instead make iChat available on iOS5...

That makes much more sense, and use apple ids to ID. Then com between all devices becomes possible. You could even integrate Facetime there.

I agree. To have the ability to start a conversation on my computer, get up to go to work, messages are then being pushed to my phone. I then sit down back at my computer log in with my Apple ID and resume my conversations on there.
I would imagine this would be alogical next step, but the idea of waiting another year to get this functionality sounds awful. NO mention in the keynote makes me feel that this may be the case.
Related side-thought: I almost would find the use of the Apple ID a little too personal. I don't know about you, but BBM was always something my BB friends used. They would share their BBM Pin with anyone who was interested in talking. (i.e. people met at parties, friends of friends) I wouldn't want to do that with my Apple ID, its my direct email address.

  • Why does Firefox check compatiblity of add-ons every time I open it? Why am I then directed to Mozilla home page? Why did you not answer this question the last time I asked it?

This is annoying. Iwant to start using a less troublesome browser but I like Firefox otherwise.

  • I want to delete temporary internet files. Notice I did not say clear the cache. That does not work! How can I delete the temp files? Why did you take that feature away? VERY frustrating that you would do that!

I search for how to delete temp int files and keep coming up with the "clear cache" crap. That is not what I searched for. Clear cache does NOT delete the temp files. Why would you take that feature away??

The Windows temporary internet files folder isn't used directly by Firefox. Firefox uses its own cache folder and you can see its current usage on the about:cache page via the location bar.
If anything does show up in the temporary internet files folder then it is likely caused by using MS plugins like the Windows Media Player or Silverlight. You need to clear that folder via IE or the control panel (internet settings).

  • Ihone 4s lost all contacts. I tried to restore from backup but the error message now says there is not enough room. I have deleted all the apps without making any more room on iphone. Why did contact disappear and how do I get them back?

In the simplest sense, archiving a file means making a copy that you never change and never discard. You already know how to do that.
iPhoto has built-in archival features, in the sense that it saves all versions of an image that you've modified. As long as you have adequate backups, you don't necessarily have any reason to archive an iPhoto library. If you want to delete images from the working library but still have access to them in case you change your mind, then you do need to archive those images. I don't have a specific suggestion as to how you should do that. You might post a question in the iPhoto forum.

  • Western iso 8859-1 character set is gone, "other (including Western" does not work. Why did you take it out?

Some websites need Western ISO 8859-1 character set to run properly and you have taken it away in favour of "other(including Western)", now the site does not work properly. Why did you take it out and can you please put it back.

ISO-8859-1 and Windows-1252 should be equivalent. Can you provide an example of a page that doesn't display properly?
If you have to manually select a character encoding to view the page correctly, then the site is broken and you should notify its owner that it needs be fixed. Websites specify the character encoding in one of two ways:
    * [http://www.w3.org/International/tutorials/tutorial-char-enc/ Handling character encodings in HTML and CSS | W3C]
    # The ''Content-Type'' response header.
    # The ''meta'' tag in the page source.

<blockquote>We are in the process of implementing http://encoding.spec.whatwg.org/ . The process involves removing support for legacy character decoders that aren’t really necessary for supporting existing Web content.</blockquote>

  • Why would you allow firefox to update computer web-browsers if you have an idea that it will no longer work after the update? And why would you not include instructions for, how to fix the problem? Help Please! Can I go back to the old one?

Mozilla, like many other software companies, thoroughly test their software before releasing it to the public and I'm sure that no problem you are having is intentional.
I do not work for Mozilla but I do have experience of releasing software for public usage.
Firefox has no way of knowing what other software is already on your computer and with millions of combinations it isn't always possible to test for every scenario.
You can go back to the old version of Firefox but that won't always solve your problem.
The web site below tells you how:

  • Why did you buy E6x and not E6x?

Why did you pick the one you did, and not the other? We all have differant ways to use our phones. Whick E-series modell did you buy...and why not the other?

given that all the e-series phones seem to be rather unique, i think this is a self answering question.
for instance, why would someone with an e60 get that over an e61? its fairly obvious really

  • Why did you kidnap me away from opening my home page and force me to your "introductory" pages that I did not want to see?

When I opened my Firefox browser this morning, I was "kidnapped' and taken away from my home page and forced to deal with your introductory pages about the "new Firefox." Why did you do this? I already have a mother, so I don't need another one. If it happens again I'll mostly change away from Firefox.

try to reset firefox ,it helps you to sort out : http://mzl.la/MnSTZB

  • Why did you choose creative over Ip

I chose creative over ipod because...
st I don't like the way their navagation weel looks.
2nd they are made by apple... I never did like apple because they have their own operating system.
3rd they have there own music format, (AAC aka i tunes) and i likes microsoft's wma format.
how about you all? why did you choose creative over ipod?
by the way, how many creative mp3 players do you own?
me, well i own a creative zen micro that's about 5 months old, and a creative zen touch that's about a week old.

I chose Creative Zen Micro 5g over iPod first of all because I received a 25% off discount on my original SB Audigy due to a class action lawsuit and they threw in a free pair of headphones that originally cost $39.99. So the whole package was $69.22. Pretty good deal I think. I love it so far.
Secondly I chose it because I don't like the fact that iPod has become a household word. My player does just as good a job as the iPod or iPod mini. So when people ask me what I have on my iPod I just tell them "nothing, since I don't own an iPod." Then I promptly explain to them that every digital music player is not an iPod.
Third because I am just not a fan of Mac or Apple and their propensity to lock people in to their hardware as well as not opening up Mac OS X to the X86 community in their new Intel deal. I am pretty sure the hacking community will take care of this one for us though.

  • Why did you remove The option to disable Java scripts?

Everyone knows malware always comes through java scripts. So why did you remove the option to turn it off ? Why the false saftey excuse? (duckspeak) This makes no sense. Alot of people also get errors and have slower speed with some pages so they disable it. I understand there is plugins available to block scripts but they never work 100%. It just really really seems strange that a browser that was built on the idea of safety, security and trust has now suddenly removed a item that makes users less safe, Under the guise of safety. (doublespeak)
I will no longer use Firefox ever again unless you put this option back.

Also note that the option is available in...
    '''<h1>about:config</h1>'''
    # In the address bar, type "about:config" (with no quotes), and press Enter.
    # Click "I'll be careful, I promise"
    # In the search bar, search for "javascript.enabled" (with no quotes).
    # Right click the result named "javascript.enabled" and click "Toggle". JavaScript is now disabled.
To Re-enable JavaScript, repeat these steps.
    '''<h1>Add-ons</h1>'''
You can alternatively install an add-on that lets you disable JavaScript, such as
*[https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/addon/noscript/ No-Script] (to disable JavaScript on a per page basis, as required)
*[https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/addon/quickjava/ QuickJava] (to easily disable and enable JavaScript, automatic loading of images, and other content)
*[https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/addon/settingsanity/ SettingSanity] (adds back JavaScript options, including Advanced JavaScript Settings, as well as options for loading images and showing the Tab Bar)
Im also not sure how you are a computer expert and dont even know the difference between Java and Javascript. Its pathetic that you dont know that Java is the most insecure thing, not Javascript, get your facts straight before bashing a correct answer and "Java Scripts" were not removed, but moved.
