Why did you return your N97 - fail

Somebody suggested to take this conversation elsewhere.  I'm starting this to really help Nokia as to why I returned my N97, and maybe somebody else looking to buy one, it will help them decide its nothing that matters to them.
After reading Nokia's return policy I found that you really only have 7 days to return the phone with the California exception being 30 days but having to pay a 15% restocking fee.  
I returned my N97 because of all the hoopla about being the new flag ship phone that was a touch screen phone. When I tried to use the phone for 4 days and the back light would not turn on (This has since been fixed in the latest software update)  Knowing I only had 7 days (30 really in my case) I called tech support and they quickly decided to have me send my phone in for repair, they said they had not heard of this problem and it was better to get it in earlier than later. All was so far ok, not great, about 4 days after they received the phone I received a call from the "executive offices of Nokia" telling me they understood I purchased their flag ship phone and they didn't want me to be without a phone, they were going to send me a N71 because the parts for my phone would not be in in 2-3 week. I said ok, and hung up the phone. Then my partner asked if this is a new phone without parts, why not just send you a new phone. I called back and the story changed, now it seemed they didn't know if it was software or hardware. I lost it, and asked for a refund, they said being a new phone they would give me 100% refund and send me out a box that day, and my refund would be mailed out in 6 weeks or more. 1 week later and no box to return the phone in, I called back, Seems they did not send a box out, its going out on Monday, When I said if I didn't get the box by Wednesday I would dispute the charges on my credit card. They also admited that the refund check has already been mailed and if I disputed the charges they would stop payment on the check.
Issue
#1 - Customer support never gave me the same story twice, it kept changing
#2 - I own an iPod touch to listen to music at the gym. The web browser blows the N97 browser away, I don't think Nokia even looked at the iTouch/iPhone to enhance their browser. I found I couldn't use the browser
#3 - Out of the box the phone software was bad, had they waited till July 1st to ship the phone (about 2 weeks) they would have had a phone that seemed to work
#4 - OVI prices on application are too high, why are there not any application for $0.99 everything seems to be $2.99 and up
#5 -  Days after the phone release, when the software still didn't work, Nokia lowered the prices for 1 day, Would not give a refund of the difference.
#6 -  Memory for the C: default drive is limited, when I send over some ring tones via blue tooth, I filled it up, after reading the forums I found I could set the memory to the 32G partition, Why does a $700 phone cause me to tweek it like that.
These were my major complaints, I figured for $700 (usd) I would get a phone that worked and smoked all the other phones out there.

    Adobe have changed their sFTP servers to only allow a certain types of sFTP, many windows apps use "aes128-cbc" or "3des-cbc" to communicate via sFTP, you have shut out a ton of apps with this change I am thinking.

    I just wanted to chime in and say that I may be one of those noobs that would have issues with this (Or something similar to this)  I ended up solving my own problem and wanted to post up the results somewhere incase someone else has this issue with connecting to their Business Catalyst site, they might find this helpful:
    The issue:
    I tried connecting to the BC sFTP via these instructions from Abobe : Business Catalyst Help | Connect to your site using SFTP
    The instructions are somewhat inaccurate (At least in my case it did not work) because it tells you to connect with the user name "mydomain.com/[email protected]" ...Obviously replacing their placer info with your own, for example "oranges.com/[email protected]".  I did this but it did not work. 
    The Solution:
    I went into my BC dashboard and saw there was another domain type in the style of : "oranges.businesscatalyst.com" it's the one that says "(System)" after it.  Notice the addition of ".businesscatalyst" after your domain.  So i put this in as the user instead, and voila'  I connected.
    In the bulleted list that most noobs will gravitate tword as an example of what is correct to apply to their own connection info it does not have that info added to the User Name example.  They do mention it in the paragraph below but they state that this is for trial/temporary sites, which my site is NOT.  This is the type of thing people who do not know a lot about networking lose hours if not days of their life on trying to figure it out.  Can't we make this process a little more easy or at least give people accurate instructions so they are not chasing their tails?
    Am i missing something or is the site misguiding people as to how to connect?  Maybe my site is just stuck in trial/temp limbo?  Adobe, please look into this, thanks.

    Brendan didn't have to leave Mozilla - we would like nothing better than to rehire Brendan. In fact, we didn't want him to leave in the first place. However it was his personal decision to resign among all this ongoing frenzy, threats and mischaracterization of him as a person and the Mozilla community coming from third-parties, in order for the constant bombardment to end and to avert any further damage to Mozilla and its mission that he helped build for so many years.
    So in this sad process we have lost a co-founder and brilliant technical mind and now the "other side" of the political spectrum comes along, again quite misinformed and rushing to judgement.     st Player was DOA direct from Creative. Repeatedly froze and asked for a refund
    2nd Bought from CompUSA and had to be returned because it would not connect to my laptop.
    3rd Replacement from CompUSA. The headphone jack was totally shot by the third week.
    4th My replacement from Creative and no bad luck yet!

  • Why did you get rid of the track option in ALL Revel apps?

    I am a subscribed Revel user that was once happy with what Revel offered but NOT anymore.  I organize my photos inside albums by events.  Why?  Because that is the ONLY organization available from Revel without creating thousands of albums.  So why did you COMPLETELY get rid of viewing albums by track?  I can't see my tracks, or events, in albums on iOS or on the Mac (because of the new update) and definitely not on the web.  What's up?  When will this be coming back?  Every update that has come on Revel has been a HUGE disappoint, lets not even mention the failing to update fiasco.  I am ready to switch applications and void ALL of the work I have done putting ALL my photos into Revel.  Help me out here please.  Somebody please get back to me and let me know what to expect or change or if I do need to be looking somewhere else for better more reliable photo storage.

    What I am actually refering to is the "track" view inside of the albums.  Track view exists in the "collection" option or the file drawer option on all Apple apps, iPad, iPhone, and the Mac, but the track option that once existed when looking at individual albums is no longer there on ANY device.

    The question is simple : would you return your current iPhone 4 to get the iPhone 4.1 on September ? I had to give the revised iPhone 4 a name , as Mr.Jobs did not deny the hardware revision of the phone in the Q&A session of today's presentation.
    I have the iPhone 4 and the Bumper, no signal issues with the case on, but a hardware-fixed phone sounds much better, what would you do if you were in my situation?

    Would you Apple zealots use some common sense for once in your lives? There is a reason behind everything and the September 30 date was not arbitrarily chosen out of the blue. It gives Apple more than enough time to tweak the manufacturing process and silently ship new phones to their stores and partners. Do you really think the white phone was delayed because they ran out of supplies or are having trouble manufacturing the white glass? Of course not. Anyone who truly thinks Apple wasn't aware of the antenna problem is an idiot.
    If the tweak works, lo and behold, Apple will announce that new customers will no longer need free cases because Apple has done what no other mobile phone company has been able to do: triumph over physics. The reality is that new hardware revisions will have insulated the antenna and Apple will likely time the announcement with an OS update to make it seem like it was a software problem all along. Not so far-fetched after all the BS Apple has spewed in the last 2 weeks and it's certainly the lengths a company that doesn't want to admit to any wrongdoing would go to.
    You think they're going to announce all that? No. Doing so would completely cannibalize their sales, in addition to admitting liability. Think, for God's sake.

    Sorry the old Feedback page - Hendrix - used with older versions of Firefox was disabled near the end of 2010.
    In Firefox 4+ versions there's a Help > Submit Feedback... menu item which leads here: http://input.mozilla.com/en-US/feedback <br />
    But you can't submit feedback there with an older version of Firefox, currently you need Firefox 5.0 or higher.
    The decision to change the GUI was made by Mozilla collectively, not by a small group of developers or by one person. If you put your efforts toward customizing Firefox to suit your tastes, it would be a lot more productive than trying to find out who to blame and where to complain about the changes made to Firefox. Geez dude, it ain't the end of the world. It's only a web browser, which can be easily modified to make it look like you thing it should look.

    I have no clue why this is or why I am getting this error in Mavericks. All I have is a local website folder in the Sites folder using Dreamweaver CS4 to update my files, working perfect on my other drive running 10.6.8 . Why I cant update and get the error above is the reason I am posting here. (and several other spots)

    That is frustrating. You are right. The new Photos.app is not yet a sufficient substitute iPhoto.
    And there was no clear warning with the upgrade to iOS that iPhoto would no longer work. Only after upgrading to iOS 8 could we find out, that iPhoto was gone.
    In your case it may be too late now to downgrade back to iOS 7. It was possible right after the release of iOS 8, but by now Apple stopped signing the firmware, so you will find no trustworthy installers.
    I think the best route is to send feedback to the developers, so the next Photos releases will bring back more of the advanced, missing iPhoto features.  Apple brought already the Camera Roll back to Photos.

    That is determined by what type of disk that it is. It may be a disk that only allows you to install Windows on your Dell computer and would not allow Windows to be installed on a Boot Camp partitition or as a virtual machine in an app such as VirtualBox on your Mac. If that is the case, you would need to purchase a retail Windows install disk.
