  • Why Didn't my iMac Come with Snow Leopard?

    The Apple site states:
How to get Mac OS X
Snow Leopard.
    With every new Mac.
Beginning August 28th 2009, every new Mac computer comes with Mac OS X Snow Leopard.
I purchased my iMac in late September 2009, and it came with Leopard 10.5.8
Did the Apple Store sell me outdated stock? I only came to realize this because I was interested in the new Mac App Store (you need Snow Leopard for that). Now I am afraid to upgrade to 10.6.x due to all the horror story reviews.
If there are any Mac gurus out there, can you explain why I was sold an already outdated Mac?

You bought an Early 2009 24" version and they all came with Leopard.

The Late 2009 21.5 or 27" iMac's versions w/Snow Leopard did not come out until October.

Over the years I have upgraded my even earlier Intel iMac that came Tiger, to Leopard and then onto Snow Leopard without a single issue or problem.
Snow Leopard was offered at a reduced price if you purchased an iMac when Snow Leopard was first released. However, I believe the offer has expired and that you will need to buy a Retail Snow Leopard DVD.

  • Why doesn't my Macbook pro come with iPhoto or iMovie? I've already tried

Why doesn't my Macbook pro come with iPhoto or iMovie? I have everything updated to the fullest capacity. Still..nothing..Help me!

If you erase the MacBook Pro and made a clean install, see this document:  OS X: About OS X Recovery  http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4718
Restoring iLife applications after Internet Restore of OS X
If your computer came with OS X Lion or later and you erase your hard disk and install OS X, you can download iPhoto, iMovie, and GarageBand from the Mac App Store.
After installation, start (up) from OS X.
Choose App Store from the Apple menu.
Enter your Apple ID and password when prompted.
    Click Purchases.
If you haven't previously accepted your bundled iLife applications within the Mac App Store, you should see your iLife applications appear in the Accept portion of the screen. Click Accept.
You may be asked for your Apple ID and password once again. Your iLife applications now move to the Purchased section. These applications are part of the software that came with your computer. Your account will not be charged for them. Click Install to complete installation of your applications.

  • Any reason my mac air didn't come with iphoto or garage band?

Aren't macs supposed to come with iphoto, imovie, garage band?

This is iPhoto for iOS (e.g., the iPhone, iPad, etc).  You might want to post your question in the proper forum.
But to answer your question, yes, you should have received a disk with the iLife software included, or it should already be on your HDD.  Have you checked your applications to be sure?

  • I have recently purchased an IPad Air. This comes with "IPhoto" as well as it's usual photo App. I do not have a Mac, instead I am syncing it to my windows PC. Is there any way of actually moving a picture around, (arranging photos in a single album)

I have recently purchased an IPad Air. This comes with "IPhoto" as well as it's usual photo App. I do not have a Mac, instead I am syncing it to my windows PC. Is there any way of actually moving a picture around, (arranging photos in a single album), in either of these apps???? They claim to be able to "Organize"  or "arrange" Photos, but for the life of me I can't figure out how......could you recommend any apps that actually allow someone to move individual photos around on an IOS Device.

No, reordering within folders and albums is not supported. the yare arranged automatically by date. I found this, but I have not used any of the apps besides iPhone. You might check the descriptions to see if they do what you need.

  • Since upgrading to OSx 10.9, I cannot place my music for iPhoto slideshows.  The only music that works is the Sample and Theme music that comes with iPhoto.  Any idea of what to do about this problem?

In iTunes go File -> Library -> Organise Library -> Reorganise Library.
    Then quit and restart iPhoto.
Credit to user keysandfood who figured that one out.

  • "New" computer comes with battery stating 2nd cycle count?

Returned one MBP 15" because of defect and was given a new sealed version of the same unit. When looking at power I noticed that the battery is on 2 cycle count. This unit is having some problems as well, but I saw the gentleman in the store here in Paris cut the seal on the unit, as well as the unit being sealed within its wrapping in the box. Why would a new computer be on it's second cycle count when never used?
    Thanks

It probably got cycled once right after being manufactured for testing. Similar reasoning why you won't find a brand new car with 0 miles on the odometer.
    Correct.
I wouldn't worry unless it had more then, say, ten cycles. Anything less then that is acceptable.

  • What type of warranty does a laptop computer come with at best buy

My computer crashed few months into buy

They normally come with a 1 year warranty but however they only cover normal hardware failures. Meaning if it is physically damaged, viruses/software only they will not cover those types of repairs. For example if it is a bad hard drive that is causing the unit not to load windows or run properly that would be covered. Your best bet is if you can back up your data and bring it to your local Geek Squad along with the proof of purchase if you did not purchase any optional coverage.

  • Does IMac computer come with language options just like I phone

DDoes iMac come with user language options just like iphone

The Mac OS, and following Mac OS X has included language options.
You could follow the link of search results to see Apple Support items
about the Mac OS X Language settings, or use your Mac's Help viewer
to search for database documents. Several appear here:
•Mac OS X Language Settings - google search:
    https://www.google.com/?gws_rd=ssl#q=mac+os+x+language+settings
You can change the language the computer uses, and other customization.
An example of that with information, can be seen in this Support article...
note it has links within it to additional subject matter. Also note search above.
•OS X: Changing the language shown in menus and dialogs - Apple Support
•OS X Mavericks: Change the language your Mac uses
•OS X Mountain Lion: Change your computer’s language
•OS X: How to change the language displayed in the login window - Apple Support
Hopefully these leads may be of help...
    Good luck & happy computing!

  • My macbook pro did not come with iPhoto, iMovie, Garageband, and probably a few other apps.

Aren't those supposed to come with the mac? I tried to return it but the future shop dude said just register the macbook and download the apps, they're free. Is that true? If so, how do I go about doing that? I'm starting to think I got ripped off or something, never again am I buying Apple products from anywhere but Apple.

  • Why doesn't new ipod come with instruction manual?

I was surprised when my new 30 GB ipod did not come with a thick instruction manual, but just a little quickstart booklet. Does Apple expect us to have to learn everything online? I think it is very cheap to not include an instruction book.

as you state its all on line.. print it out and then you have a book.
