Why do Adobe 9 and Windows 7 Internet explorer not play well?

I use Windows 7 and Adobe came with the new Windows 7 platform however, it has not worked properly since I have owned it for 30 days. I have already uninstalled and reinstalled Adobe 9.
When trying to download from internet explorer I am timed out and receive an error message " there is a problem with Adobe Reader/Acrobat, please try again later."  This message also closes internet explorer down.
Can anyone help please?
Thanks

Have you updated AA9 (that is Acrobat)? There are several updates that are typically needed. You did not indicate the version level and you may only have 9.0.0. If you are talking about Reader, then you need to ask in the Reader forum. Adobe is not a product, but the company with many products.

  • Why does Adobe 9 and Windows 7 Internet explorer not play well?

I just upgraded to Windows 7 and Adobe 9 came with the software package for new computer. Everytime I try to download a pdf file from Internet explorer it times me out and I end up with an error message   "there is a problem with Adobe Acrobat/Reader. Please close and try again later."  and no pdf. Explorer closes and I have to try again all over again.
Any help out there would be great

Unfortunately, you have posted to the Forum Comments forum. You need to post to the Acrobat Reader forum, assuming that you are talking about Reader, otherwise post to the Acrobat Pro forum.
    Good luck,

  • T520 and Windows 8.1 - do they play well together?

Hi. I'm probably going to be buying a T520 (my first Lenovo) and while doing some research elsewhere on this site, I found something that I'm hoping someone might explain.
This link goes to a page titled Windows 8.1 Tested System List and I don't see the T520 listed anywhere.
Looking more closely at the ThinkPad T series models that are on the list, I see that none of the "20" model versions of the T400 and T500 are listed, nor are any of the "10" versions, but the "30" and "40" series are.
I have a feeling that this list isn't up to date or isn't what it appears  to be, since it's kind of hard to believe that even though it's not super new, the T520 would have issues running Windows 8. But I thought I'd ask.
I will actually be purchasing a used T520 with Windows 7, which is what I prefer anyway. But at some point I will either want to or need to move to Win 8. So I'd like to verify that that won't be a problem.
I'm excited about joining the Lenovo gang!
    Thanks!

    Hi MadGirlDisease,
I have a T510 with Windows 8 and it runs well, everuthing is working no problem. I haven't updated to 8.1 yet but as lead_org said windows 8 with no touchscreen is not that great but I use it mainly in desktop mode.

  • Firefox and Windows live mail won't play well together

If I open windows live mail from the task bar in windows 7 (64) I have to click on Firefox 5-10 times until it opens. If I open Firefox first, no problems. If I open live mail first, (which automatically opens messenger) I have to close both to open Firefox. Firefox is my default browser. I installed updates. Everything's current .

  • Windows vista, internet explorer 8 and adobe reader 9

I have windows vista, internet explorer 8 and adobe reader 9.  When i open pdf files from a website i cannot save the document.  I don't get an error message, it just does not open.

Have you tried capturing these application in separate packages?  I have been successful in capturing IE8 in one package and Adobe Reader XI in another package and then using the OptionalAppLinks option in the IE8 package to point to the Adobe Reader dat file.  Just make sure that both packages work outside of the applinking.  Also, you can try to install Adobe to the native machine and see if the embedded pdfs work in the virtual IE package.
These are just the troubleshooting steps that I would take to narrow down what is causing the issue you are seeing.

  • URL issue with Windows 7 Internet Explorer 11 and SAP NW PI 7.

    Hello SAP community,
I am facing a strange issue with Windows 7 - Internet Explorer 11 and SAP NW java services (I hope I am in the correct discussion) ...
When I try to open URL http://sapserver.hosters-name:port it is working so far with Windows 7 and Internet Explorer 11.
But when I click than on NWA (example), I am getting "http 500 server error".
I don't have the issue, when I start-up a VMware Workstation with Windows XP and Internet Explorer 8.
But now the strange part: In our network DNS (Domain Name Service), we can also open the URL by http://sapserver.our-dns:port.
Than it is working without problems with Windows 7 and Internet Explorer.
I would agree to state the comment - it is just a Windows 7/Internet Explorer 11 issue, if it wouldn't work for both URLs (http://sapserver.hosters-name:port = problem URL; http://sapserver.our-dsn:port = working).
We are using a SAP NW PI 7.x system. Some URLs for PI are using http://sapserver.hosters-name:port/java service.
Do you have any hints what is cause the issue - I suspect some with Internet Explorer and Firefox (because with Google Chrome at least the URL for NWA is opened, beside the issue, Google Chrome can't display NWA content)?
    Thanks for your help.
    Best regards
    Carlos

    Hi all,
I think I found the solution.
The reason seems to be, the domain name for http://sapserver.our-dns:port, "our-dns" was already added to the compatibility view settings of Microsoft Internet Explorer.
That seemed to be the reason, why it was working with http://sapserver.our-dns:port.
When I now added for http://sapserver.hosters-name:port the domain "hosters-name" to the compatibility view settings it is now working.
Internet Explorer Options => Settings for compatibility view => Add domain
    Best regards
    Carlos

  • Why is Adobe crashing and giving me "script " error messages?

Why is Adobe crashing and giving me "script" error messages?

Let's see if we can get you the details you need here:
I'm getting the same Action Script pop-up on WinXP Sp3 32-bit and Win7 Pro SP1 64-bit systems, both running Seamonkey 2.10.1 with the Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 5.1; rv:13.0) Gecko/20120615 Firefox/13.0.1 SeaMonkey/2.10.1, so this is the same browser as Firefox 13.0.1.
The Action script pop-up has a Dismiss and Continue button and on WinXP clicking Dismiss seems to close the pop-up window and allow the Flash Player to work normally, at least for a while; clicking Continue results in repetitions of the Action Script pop-up - takes some time to come up again so not 100% sure on this behavior.  On Win7, the Action Script pop-up window does not respond to clicking either button, the browser appears to be hung and after a minute or so a message comes up in the Flash player box saying the Flash Player has crashed and to reload the page to retry.
Here are the contents of the Action Script pop-up:
I have experienced this on a couple of different sites, notably the Animated Map at weather.com which I get to through my Yahoo login.  Here's the URL, which may or may not work for you, since I get there through my Yahoo ID login:

I hope this provides the necessary info to pursue this. Please let me know if you need more.
I tacked this on to this thread since it seems relevant but if you want a fresh thread, please specify.
    Thanks.

  • I can no longer send or respond to email from my Firefox browser. I closed and sent from Internet explorer and it works fine. What changed? The only thing different this morning, I downloaded Adobe uprade?

    Question
I can no longer send or respond to email from my Firefox browser. I closed and sent from Internet explorer and it works fine. What changed? The only thing different this morning, I downloaded Adobe uprade?

I had this hotmail issue myself a while back. I Googled, scanned MS website, scanned MSN website, visited forums, couldn't figure it out. I tried Firefox and Opera and even changed the Opera mask setting from Opera to Internet Explorer. Nothing worked. My best guess was that I was signing on (with the new MSN Live as opposed to MSN Hotmail - the OLD interface) with the "Remember me on this computer?" box checked. I now make sure it is un-checked (which is not the default) and hotmail lets me in.
Not exactly sure if that is the real remedy, but thot I'd throw the story your way just in case...

  • QuickTime 7.7.1, Windows Vista, Internet Explorer, and .mpg files

After updating QuickTime to 7.7.1, QuickTime runs whenever I click on a .mpg file in Internet Explorer, under Windows Vista.
The last time this happened I had to go into QuickTime>Edit>Preferences>QuickTime Preferences>Browser>Mime Settings and uncheck the MIME association to .mpg files.
This time with QuickTime 7.7.1, clicking on MIME Settings just opens up Windows Default Programs association window, not the Quicktime MIME associations.  .mpg is unchecked, and Windows Media Player is associated with .mpg.  All file types that are checked for QuickTime are grayed out, and cannot be unchecked.
    Any ideas?

    Solution found:
After making sure Windows Media Player is the default player in Windows Default Programs for file types .mp3 and .mpg, open Internet Explorer, click on Tools>Internet Options>Programs>Set Programs>Set program access and computer defaults>Custom>Choose a default media player: Then click on Windows Media Player radio button.
In Customs, you have to either click on the word Customs or click on the down arrows to the far right of Customs to expand the choices, and find "Choose a default media player:"
You will also have to be logged in as Administrator or have the Admin password to reset this choice.

  • Can someone help me get adobe flash running on Windows 8 Internet explorer 10 desktop?

I am running Windows 8 and I use internet explorer 10 desktop, but Flash content will not load!!!!! Can someone help?
Also, Shockwave flash objext is enabled, and ActiveX Filtering is disabled.

    you need boot camp 3.0.x first before later versions can be installed;
    Or,
I don't know what currently Boot Camp Assistant in 10.6.8 will also do a download of drivers.
But other than change Properites and try setting "use Windows 7 mode" and such, I think you are left high and dry with whatever is in 8.
And I use 8 on two of three systems. I left my Mac Pro @ Windows 7 for now but I much prefer Windows 8, yes.
I would not have chosen or gone with any 32-bit version. As long as you have 3GB RAM or more, forget it. Use 64-bit.
I have not seen or rather read any "success" stories with 8 and Apple drivers though.

  • FDF file opening in Internet Explorer--not in Adobe Acrobat Professional XI

    Good morning!
I have created a form in Acrobat Professional XI and have a submit button that emails that data back as an .fdf file.  This is working as it should.
However, on some of the returned emails, the .fdf file is opening in Internet Explorer--not in the associated file in  Acrobat Professional XI.
Is this the default?  Is there a way that I can specify that it always opens in Acrobat?
I looked on line, and found where you have to associate that type of file with Acrobat
    I have Windows XP
in My Computer--in Tools, Folder Options, File Types, I have where FDF files are associated with Adobe Acrobat.
Are there other changes that need to be made?
We have a work-around--we can import the file data into the form--just takes a little longer.
I tested this before I posted the form online, and it worked perfect.  Now that it is online, we are seeing some snags...
As always--Thank you for your help!

Thank you for your quick response!
no--it is an fdf file.  Has an .fdf extension.
One difference that I have noticed that the file that is opening correctly (in acrobat) was sent from a gmail account.  The file that is opening in internet explorer was filled out in Adobe Reader XI from an outlook email.
This is the window that appears when the file is opened.
On the Tools--the only items that are accessible from this screen is the AddOnTools--not all the tools sets.
Any assistance would be greatly appreciated!
