Why do all my programs keep crashing after the most recent apple update?
Everything keeps crashing after i made an update on saturday. Anyone else having this issue, anyone know of any solutions. Safari, Chrome, all adobe products keep crashing. Very frustrating as today is a work day and have not been able to get anything done. I've lost a whole day of work and am really hoping for a solution so my whole week is not lost.
Have you got any programs which modify the OS, such as haxies and those fancy utilities? If so, you could delete them, preferably using the uninstaller provided by the supplier. Also, any out-of-date hardware which might be upsetting Lion?
If that fails, erase your hard drive and re-install Lion (which will be a clean install). Or erase and revert to SnowLeopard or earlier and wait for Lion to settle down.
However, for people running a business (you mention "work") it would be safer to install a new OS on to an external Firewire or USB HD and see how it goes. If it does not work, you can revert to your earlier setup. (If you can revert to an earlier workable OS, you could do that as well.)

I had the same problem. Try this. Launch FaceTime. Click the toggle to turn it off; or Command-K. Quit. Do a restart, you shouldn't get the popup. You could then turn FaceTime back on if you wish. Either way, the popup should be gone from then on.

After the most recent FF update, FF 3.6.6 will not load, citing the error message: "XULRunner / Error: Platform version '1.9.2.3' is not compatible with minVersion>=1.9.2.6 / maxVersion". Tried updating XULRunner with no luck. Downloaded fresh copy and installed. Still no luck.

Uninstall your current Firefox version and remove the Firefox program folder before installing that copy of the Firefox installer.
It is important to delete the Firefox program folder to remove all the files and make sure that there are no problems with files that were leftover after uninstalling.
You can skip the step to create a new profile, that is not necessary for this issue.

Each time my iMac reboots I am prompted to enter my FaceTime password. This just started occurring after the most recent security update. When I put my password in the pop up just comes back, if I press cancle it goes away. Any ideas on how to get rid of this annoying popup?

to take the recurring message at its word, the cause of insufficient application memory is that a particular app requires more free RAM than is currently available, and the remedy would be providing it with more free RAM, either by closing other opened apps or by upgrading the amount of RAM in your MacBook Pro. -
After the most recent firefox update I lost the search function in hotmail
After the most recent upgrade for Firefox the search function in my Hotmail account no longer works. When I try to search through my email for a specific item, I get a message, "It looks like there's a problem with Windows Live Hotmail right now. It should be fixed soon, so please try again in a few minutes. Sorry for the inconvenience."
Also, when I load up my Hotmail account it pretty much seems to take over my browser. If I follow a link from an email to another website, I will often be pulled back to Hotmail...with or without a "hang" and I will get the "Warning: Unresponsive Script" message. It appears to be related to the ad bar that runs on the right side of the Hotmail page. It gets worse if I have more than two tabs open.
I have a similar experience with Facebook. It will often pull me back if I go to another tab. The "Warning: Unresponsive Script" message will come up. often after a considerable "hang" delay. This also can happen if I am participating in a thread. Often, when I am typing it will hang, sometimes for several minutes before my cursor resumes functionality. My iPad purchased in 11/2012 won't start since updating to the most recent IOS version in 3/2015.
It's fully charged but pressing the HOME button or SLEEP/WAKE button, individually or together doesn't have any effect.
Suggestions?If it has NEVER been jailbroke, here are some standard repair procedures:
First, try a system reset. It cures many ills and it's quick, easy and harmless...
Hold down the on/off switch and the Home button simultaneously until you see the Apple logo. Ignore the "Slide to power off" text if it appears. You will not lose any apps, data, music, movies, settings, etc.
If the Reset doesn't work, try a Restore. Note that it's nowhere near as quick as a Reset. It could take well over an hour! Connect via cable to the computer that you use for sync. From iTunes, select the iPad/iPod and then select the Summary tab. Follow the on-screen directions for Restore and be sure to say "yes" to the backup. You will be warned that all data (apps, music, movies, etc.) will be erased but, as the Restore finishes, you will be asked if you wish the contents of the backup to be copied to the iPad/iPod. Again, say "yes."
At the end of the basic Restore, you will be asked if you wish to sync the iPad/iPod. As before, say "yes." Note that that sync selection will disappear and the Restore will end if you do not respond within a reasonable time. If that happens, only the apps that are part of the IOS will appear on your device. Corrective action is simple - choose manual "Sync" from the bottom right of iTunes.
If you're unable to do the Restore (or it doesn't help), go into Recovery Mode per the instructions here. You WILL lose all of your data (game scores, etc,) but, for the most part, you can redownload apps and music without being charged again. Also, read this. -
Why can't ipod touch 1st gen get the most recent ios update?
i have tried to update my ipod touch but it doesnt work. i dont understand why the 1st generation cannot get the most recent update.

Originally, even if I had some messages on the "do not disturb" mode, I would still be able to preview them in the notification center. After the latest update about a week or so ago, the only messages that appear are the ones that aren't on "do not disturb". I've tried taking them all off the DND mode and turning it back on, messed with the settings, even turned my phone off and on, but nothing is working.
Any ideas?Follow-up to my earlier post that iPhone 6 Bluetooth not working correctly. I purchased a Jawbone MiniJambox to use as a speaker phone in my office. Everyone in our company thinks they are the best. However, it is experiencing the same issues as with all my other Bluetooth headsets. Everything works except cannot answer or hang up calls pushing the buttons on the Bluetooth devices. The Bluetooth patio speakers in our courtyard also have the same issue. However, my colleagues using iPhone 5 and 5s who did not update to iOS8 are using all Bluetooth devices without any issues. Apple says it is a problem with my Bluetooth device. Come on Apple.... This makes 7 different Bluetooth devices with different manufacturers. You cannot possibly believe the problem is with the Bluetooth devices when iOS7 works perfectly fine...
On another issue, my iPhone 5s worked perfectly fine in my vehicle entertainment center connected via USB. The vehicle entertainment center had complete control of my iPhone and iTunes. However, now I plug in my new iPhone 6 and it no longer communicates with my vehicle entertainment center. Again when I called Apple, they said my vehicle entertainment center needed a firmware update. Are you kidding me... That is a bunch of BS...!!! -

I can see that someone is IM'ing me, but it does not pop up on the screen nor can I create or start IM while in yahoo mail.

Photos are meant to be uploaded to your computer for archival and storage. Certainly before doing something as major as a software update, you've done this, correct? In this case, your photos should be residing safely on your computer and you can just synch them back.

I have an iPod 5th gen. My audiobook playlists disappeared. They show as "on this device" in iTunes, but I cannot locate them on the device. Even the audiobook tab has disappeared. This happed after the most recent iTunes update.
- Delete all AB and resync
To delete all music go to Settings>General>Usage>Storage>Manage Storage>Audio Book (if present) and delete
- Reset all settings
Go to Settings > General > Reset and tap Reset All Settings.
All your preferences and settings are reset. Information (such as contacts and calendars) and media (such as songs and videos) aren’t affected.
