Why do b/w photos show as color on my pc photostream?

When using new filters on iPhone ios7, the black and white photos do not show up except in color on my pc. I have switched to the apple viewer and they still show color. Is there a way I can rectify this?

I had some photos on my iPhoto (on MacBook Air) that I wanted to have on my iPhone 5.
I synced the photos, I checked my Camera roll but they weren't there, so I checked the Photos tab (moments/collections) and they were there.

If you don't have iCloud Photo Library beta enabled, you'll have Camera Roll and My Photo Stream albums in iOS 8.1 or later. The Camera Roll album shows all photos saved to your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch, and it organizes your photos by the date they were added to your device. This includes all photos taken by your device or saved to your device through a Camera Connection Kit. It doesn't include photos synced to the device from iTunes.

Why aren't all photos showing up under "Photos" in iPhoto?

I have noticed that not all photos show up when I have "Photos" selected in the Library on the left. There are photos I just imported from my iPhone and they show up when I select "Last import" or "Last 12 months" but not unter "Photos". Any ideas what is wrong here and how to fix this?
(btw. I have no hidden photos)

I am running the latest iPhoto and OS X

If the Photos are under 'Last Import' or 'Last N Months' then they are in the Library somewhere, just not where you are expecting them to be. We know this as both Lat Import and 'Last N Months' are not places, just listings of elements in the the Library.
The two most common reasons that they can't be found is either an incorrect date on the camera or the Sorting (View Menu -> Sort Photos - or Sort Events, as appropriate) has changed.
Quick route to find them: Right-click on one of the images in Last Import and select 'Show Event'. This will bring you to the image in the Library.

Why black and white photo changed back color after exported?

The photo I took shows up in black and white but after I exported the photo, none are black and white. Why is that?
I can see it as black and white while on the iphone.

You need to duplicate your color photo.
1. Open your color photo in PSE11 Full Edit expert tab (A raw photo will open in camera raw so click the open image button too send it to the PSE interface)
2. On the Top menu click Layer >>Duplicate Layer >>OK
3. On the top menu click Enhance >>Convert to Black & White >>OK
4. If you can’t see the layers pallet to the right click Window >>Layers
5. In the layers pallet click add layer mask (the icon with a small circle)
6. Make sure your foreground color is set to black then select the brush tool
7. Click the mouse over the area where you wish to reveal color and use like an eraser to reveal the background below
8. To correct errors switch the foreground color to white, then switch back to black and continue
9. Save as PSD to preserve your layers and if you wish make a jpeg copy from the PSD file using File >> Save As
N.B. if your brush is too big or too small you can use the square bracket keys to adjust the size up or down.
The smart brush tool has black & white options but it does involve making selections which can be more tricky than using the ordinary brush.

Why don't imported photos show in Lightroom?

I imported a folder of approximately 170 pictures into lightroom using the same process I have been using for a month. the files are a combination of canon .cr2 files and the matching .jpg files that go with the .cr2s.
After the import completed lightroom showed zero photos in that folder. I immediately panicked and double checked that all the files really did exist in the folder via windows explorer.
However, if I go back and try re-importing the files the import function shows all the files as having been previously imported.
I have tried the "synchronize folder" process, and it first shows the files as '170' to import, but after the synch function complete it shows 0 files processed.
Any ideas why lightroom refuses to show this particular group of folders?
I suspect it is something either really simple or the library on my system is messed up due to corruption.
If the library is messed up how do I go about rebuilding it. These photos are critical to me as they are headshots of an actress.

I was panicking because I spent an hour with my friend/client going through these 170 shots cropping, minor tweaking, and picking out the best for further work. I managed to reload the pictures, but thought I had lost all the post prep we had done.
You nailed the issue dead on and I've found the files with all the post prep catalog info.

Why aren't my photos showing on iCloud?

Hi,
My phone was stolen in Budapest when travelling, so i tried to track it with 'find my phone' and nothing happened as it said it was offline. Does this mean that it was because the phone was turned off, sim taken out, or no internet connection?
My next question is that my photo stream didnt show up on my iCloud account when I checked online. I wanted to see if my holiday photos were uploaded but there wasnt an option for photos, only calendar, contacts etc...I am worried that I have lost all my photos.
If anyone could give some answers it would be appreciated.

You aren't supposed to be able to see your photos at iCloud.com.

Why don't my photos show up on card reader after an export from iPhoto?

Just exported 78 photos from iPhoto to a memory card reader. After completing the export, I returned the memory card to my camera.The photos don't show up. What could have gone wrong?

The format and arrangement of folders on your camera card is quite specific, and unless you've export the photos to exactly the right folder, name din exactly the right way, it won't know they are there.
Format the card with your camera. Take a snap. Pop the card in the Reader. Find that snap... that's the folder your photos should go to.

Why don't the photos show in a newsletter I received even when I view the newsletter online?

I created a newsletter for my organization with Vertical Response containing photos and the sample test of the newsletter was perfect. When I actually sent it out through VR to our mailing list, my own arrived with only the file name showing of each photo. No alert to allow remote content was offered by the program. The newsletter had an option to view online which I did, but still no photos, just the .jpg file names.

Thanks for your speedy reply, finitarry. Yes, the photos are embedded images in HTML, not attachments, but Thunderbird did not give me the usual alert option for downloading the remote images. I'm hearing now that other recipients of the newsletter are having the same problem so I suspect the problem is on the other end..... the mass email company i used.

Why aren't edited photos showing up on PC after export from ipad? Syncios issue?

I stored thousands of vacation photos on my ipad (after downloading them from my camera). They were stored in the generic ipad Photos program as far as I know. I created a few Albums from the photos and edited them all on the ipad (cropped, enhanced, used effects, etc). and saved these new versions of the photos to the Albums. I deleted the original photo files (the pre-edited ones). All the edited photos are viewable under both the Photos and Albums tabs in Photos. I transfered all the photos to my PC using a USB cable and Picassa- I was unaware of Syncios. The transfer worked, but none of the edited photos made it over, only the original versions. I looked into it further, realized I should have used Syncios, and when I tried the transfer again, none of the photos were displayed in Syncios (edited or otherwise). So I have all of the photos from the first export, but not the edited versions, and Syncios isn't showing me any of the photos. All the edited photos are still on my ipad in Photos and Albums. Is there any way to get the edited versions onto my PC? I'm afraid I spent countless hours editing for nothing! Any help is greatly appreciated!

Why are there no photos show when I open my "Photos" app?

I have no photos to see when I open my "Photos" app. I have told my device in settings to let me see all my photos in the cloud but there are none. Before I did this I could see all that I want to but now since the system tells me I can see all my stored photos in the cloud I have elected to do so. Now I cannot see any pics. What to do!!!

That will depend on how you want to get your photos to your iPad.
If you want to be able to stream photos to your iPhone using My Photo Stream, or to sync photos to your iPhone using iTunes Photo Sync, disable iCloud Photo Library (Beta) again in the Photos&Camera settings on the iPhone. Then you can again upload photos to the iPhone.
But if you want to use the iCloud Photo Library (Beta), then use the web interface at https://www.icloud.com/#photos to upload photos from your Mac to the iCloud Photo Library. There is an upload button in the toolbar:

My photos aren't the same as the filter I used in the camera when I was taking the picture, for example my black and white photos show up colored.

Have you checked your ink levels and the inkjet jets for plugging?

Why when I email photos from iPhoto do they not show in my sent items in my mail ?

Why when I email photos from iPhoto using the share option does the email not show up in my sent items box in Mail. The emails are arriving ok but I do not have a record of the email being sent. Bit confused. I am new to my iMac .

If you are using the iPhoto email client there is no sent mail box
My suggestion is to set Mail as your email client and then you have everythin in Mail and have a sent mail box

I cannot get photos placed in InDesign CS5 to show up only as grayscale/black. When a separation is done, part of the photos show up on both parts of the color separation. I've been hunting for a solution for hours.

ALSO, on the iPod under Settings>General>iTunes Sync, you may need to back out of the "iTunes Wi-fi Sync," and reopen it to get it to update.
(I use iTunes 11.1.5.5)
