Why do certain websites default to bottom of page upon opening?

When I am opening up sites like REI.com and mountainhardwear.com the web page defaults to the bottom of the page. It only happens on certain websites. I can open gmail, hotmail, amazon - and it stays at the top of the page.

And.... I reverted to Firefox v 11.0 and the problem disappeared. So Mozilla needs to address this issue with javascript before releasing v 13. Version 12 is a no-go for me. Not sure what the exact cause is, but it's a problem in 12, not 11, so something was changed that needs to be fixed.

There is usually no need to enable third-party cookies. Only some websites needs them enabled. E.g. you can't logout properly from Hotmail unless third-party cookies are enabled, but apart from that Hotmail (Windows Live) works without problems. You usually notice it when you have to enable third-party cookies because the website gives a warning. You end up with a lot of extra cookies if third-party cookies are enabled, so I keep them disabled and remove the live.com cookies myself in this case.

Why Do Certain Websites display fonts wrong in Firefox 4?

Some fonts on certain sites display wrong and I can't seem to fix it. I have clear type turned on. I've attached a link to an screen grab to show my issue. Any help appreciated.

@cor-el That doesn't seem to help the font replacement issue. It's still replacing the standard fonts with non-standard fonts. Right now, Firefox is now using "Helvetica Helvetica Neue Extended Thin", instead of Helvetica/Arial as defined in the CSS file(s).
As soon as I delete "Helvetica Neue Extended Thin" from my computer, it will display the correct font for a few minutes, and then automatically change it to another strange Helvetica font variant. That's the issue...

Why are certain websites causing my mac to crash?

I have recently just purchased my first mac and on the whole am very happy with it. However when browsing the internet certain web pages cause my mac to become unresponsive. All my software is up to date. The problem occurs when i'm using safari and so far it's just 4OD (channel4.com) and myspace that have caused this problem. The mouse either freezes completely or turns into the spinning colour wheel and the keyboard shortcut for force quit does not work. I cannot use the dashboard as it doesn't appear even if I can move the mouse over to its area and the time in the top right corner of the screen stops too. All i can do is hold down the power key and then reboot the whole thing. Any ideas as to what might be causing this? Also I looked at the crash reports to see what they said and there aren't even any there!

If you have increased the minimum font size then try the default setting "none" as a (too) high value can cause issues.

Make sure that you allow websites to choose their fonts.

It is better not to increase the minimum font size, but use an extension to set the default page zoom to prevent issues with overlapping text.

Certain websites will load eg. Facebook, Google, etc. but others, eg. YouTube will not open. Why? And how can I fix this?

Firstly, I downloaded the latest edition of Firefox. It then crashed several times in a row. This is when certain websites stopped responding and refused to open. I don't know what the criteria are for which websites open and which do not as I have no problems with sites such as Facebook, Google, etc. yet sites such as Youtube won't open.
Also, If I search for something on Google, once it returns results, I cannot open certain websites from the links given to me by Google.
Eg. if I search Google for Musicnotes.com, I can click the link and the page will open. But if I search for my university website, the page won't open.
When I closed Firefox and went to reopen it, all I got was the "send error report" screen several times over. If I clicked "Close" or "Restart" Firefox, nothing would happen, it just returned me to the "send error report" screen. I then restarted Firefox in safemode as well as restarting it without add-ons. But I am having the same problems with opening websites.
What can I do?

Do a malware check with several malware scanning programs on the Windows computer. 
Please scan with all programs because each program detects different malware. 
All these programs have free versions.
Make sure that you update each program to get the latest version of their databases before doing a scan.

1. Because they're using Android or iOS and can't see the Flash container.
2. Because they have Flash Player, but NOT Shockwave, which works for Interactive content like games and links in Flash containers.
3. ActiveX controls are blocking Flash content in IE.
4. Any of about a dozen other things.
As a web desginer since 2003, I can tell you that these days, it's a terrible idea to have Flash content in a website (outside of games that require it). Video should be HTML5. Navigation, content and other links should be HTML, CSS and/or Javascript ONLY, because placing them in a Flash container makes them invisible to literally half of your viewers or more, since SmartPhones can't and don't see Flash, and tablets don't either without special browsers, which may or may not work with embedded links.

Either someone has installed a client side cert into Safari or the site in question has let their SSL cert expire. (not your fault). You could try using Firefox or Chrome instead.

The way websites render is out of your control. Try a different browser. Try making your viewing window larger or smaller as a possible work a round.
If you are truly using 10.4.11 as you indicate, more than likely your browsers are outdated version which may not be compatible.

Apple saw it as their responsibility since the redirection took me to the App Store. They assisted me in stopping the redirection which is occurring on many peoples iPhones. It's a have java script problem that adking is using to get you to buy their games. The websites work normal and then all of the sudden the website is taken over by adking.com. You can no longer use the website as it immediately takes you to the App Store without ever showing a popup to cancel the redirection. They were very helpful fixing the problem should others experiencing this specifically with adking.com.
No need to get defensive. I'm not the only one experiencing the problem Apple said.

Why is everything defaulting to bottom align?

Working in a file I inherited from a client, and all text boxes seem to be defaulting to bottom align. Even boxes i drag out of the library that are top aligned, suddenly become bottom aligned in the new document. The original file didn't seem to be doing this, and I don't see any global setting that would be causing this. I'm in version 9.1
Any ideas? Its driving me crazy.

With nothing selected, press Cmd/Ctrl+B to open the Text Frame Options dialog. In the Vertical Justification section, set Align: Top, (assuming Top is what you want). This won't change any pre-existing frames, but all subsequent ones should default to what ever you set.
If there are pre-existing frames you want to change, select them and do the same.

More generally, when you have a problem with one particular site, a good "first thing to try" is clearing your Firefox cache and deleting your saved cookies for the site.
(1) Bypass Firefox's Cache
Use Ctrl+Shift+r to reload the page fresh from the server.
Alternately, you also can clear Firefox's cache completely using:
orange Firefox button (or Tools menu) > Options > Advanced
On the Network mini-tab > Cached Web Content : "Clear Now"
If you have a large hard drive, this might take a few minutes.
(2) Remove the site's cookies (save any pending work first). While viewing a page on the site, try either:
* right-click and choose View Page Info > Security > "View Cookies"
* Alt+t (open the classic Tools menu) > Page Info > Security > "View Cookies"
In the dialog that opens, you can remove the site's cookies individually.
Then try reloading the page. Does that help?

I have downloaded another browser and instead of crashing the whole phone it is only the browser that crashes. all my software is up to date and I have tried resetting the phone and nothing has helped. Also my pop up blocker doesn't work.. if anyone else has had this problem please help!!
