Why do creative cloud up-dates create so many problems lately?

I just got over a fix by Adobe tech personnel in reference to the latest Light Room update, and now I experience another glitch.
I un-installed CC after CC 2014 had installed; one Gig hard drive space less and no problems with outdated plug ins. Now, trying to open Bridge from File> Browse in Bridge...., opens up the Creative Cloud Desktop Panel, but not Bridge. Going through several un-install, re-install and update processes did not help. This is not a major problem, just pin Bridge to the task bar, but every time some Creative Cloud up-date comes along, I, and most of my photography pals, have a frustrating time to get there tools of trade, working again.

I've had some similar issues.  I signed up for iTunes Match when I was at work (used LogMeIn to run my Mac at home) and let it start its matching.  It was still running when I got home (about 5 hours later).  It matched about half of my 6400 songs and was in the process of uploading the rest.
When it finally completed, I had a couple of hundred songs that had an "error" and it didn't upload.  No reason for the error, though.  I made a smart playlist of all my music and selected all items where iCloud status WAS NOT uploaded, matched or purchased.  So all that was left were items that were not eligible, duplicates and the "errors". I selected all the error songs, right-clicked and selected add to iCloud.  It put most of the error files up to the cloud and I did the same thing this morning and it finished the rest.  I have a feeling the errors were caused by the servers getting overloaded.
I did have those weird problems where all songs except for 1 or 2 for a number of albums were matched and those couple had to be uploaded.  Then there were whole albums (mainstream stuff) that were not matched at all and had to be uploaded.
I still have some odd issues with my iPhone where I have some duplicate songs scattered around, not all of my playlists are listed and it looks like it kept all the music on my phone after switching to iTunes Match.  I got the prompt that said it would replace my library.
It did wipe out the music on my iPad 2, though.
Hopefully they'll get this straightened out soon.

    You can try the steps:
    For Mac
    Go to Applications-->Utilities-->Adobe Installers.
    Uninstall Adobe Creative Cloud.
    ** If it says application is running in the background then open Activity Monitor and close the process of Creative cloud.
    Once the creative cloud is uninstalled then follow the below mentioned steps:
    Please go to Library
        1. Click on Finder then Click on Go and Go to folder
        2. Type /Library and click on Go
        3. Go to Application Support and Adobe and then delete OOBE folder.
        4. Redo Step 1
        5. Type ~/Library and click on Go
        6. Go to Application Support and Adobe and then delete OOBE folder.
        7. Go to https://creative.adobe.com/products/creative-cloud?promoid=KLYVF
    Download Adobe Creative cloud, Install it.
    If the above steps do not work. Try enabling root user account and then try to open Adobe Creative cloud.

    This morning when I tried to open my CC2014 Photoshop, it started to open, then quit suddenly. Same with Dreamweaver and InDesign. I am a professional and do not have the time to screw around with this. When I tried to run CC app, I get an error that says "Adobe creative cloud is needed to resolve this problem.   • When using Creative Cloud Library assets created in Illustrator why are the naming conventions I use not being pulled over into the Photoshop layers?

    I create the Creative Cloud Library asset in illustrator and give it a name such as "camera-icon". It shows up in my Creative Cloud Library pane in Photoshop as "camera-icon". When I use that asset in Photoshop the layer is randomly named "a56bd81d-d81f-4815-82b3-5795d410b527". Why is this happening? Shouldn't that layer resolve the name back to "camera-icon" so that when I extract files for use in my application the naming convention is correct. Right now I have to manually rename that layer again. Is this a bug or have I just not done something correctly?

    I think you have pasted the entire crash log. In case of such issues in future, please paste the error screenshot.
    Seems to be a permission issue. Lets follow the below suggestions:
    Solution 1: Rename the following folders on your machine:
    '/Library/ColorSync/Profiles/Profiles'
    '/Library/ColorSync/Profiles/Recommended'
    Solution 2: Rename the following files:
    '/Library/Application Support/Adobe/caps/Media_db.db'
    '/Library/Application Support/Adobe/caps/pdb.db'
    Make sure you dont touch caps.db under the same folder. Now run the installer again. Let me know if you need more help.
    Solution 3:
    Please Run following commands on terminal on the machine (this will remove the corrupt fonts and should allow you to run the installer successfully) -
    sudo mv "/Library/Fonts/ACaslonPro-Bold.otf" /tmp/
    sudo mv "/Library/Application Support/Adobe/SavedFonts/current/AdobeArabic-Bold.otf" /tmp/
    sudo mv "/Library/Application Support/Adobe/HelpCfg/de_DE/goURL_lr_photoshop_de.csv" /tmp/
    Please feel free to respond to this thread if you have any questions about the steps listed within the document.  If you could also respond with the specific error message you receive, It would be appreciated.

  • CS6 Perpetual License Only - so why a Creative Cloud Directory

    As the title mentions I am running CS6 with a perpetual license. Have never signed up for the CC version or any other product.
    So was a little surprised when trolling through my directories - bored sitting on a conference call - I discovered a Creative Cloud directory in the x86 file structure for Photoshop CS6. The directory is empty and it has the creation date of the last CS6 update. Now I did have problems getting the update installed took multiple tries and really not convinced it really took - but it works fine after a manual download. The thought that ran through my mind was the Adobe Installation Manager was messed up (not the first time) and really was trying to install the a CC version update. Hence the Creative Cloud Directory.  So is the normal?
    By the way the Creative Cloud directory does not show up in the x64 bit version

    You could be right - and if that is the case raises more questions and an ethics concern.
    The question would be - why only the x86 version and not the x64 version - which leads me down the path to believe that the Adobe Installation Manager is the culprit.
    But if true that the versions of CS6 and the Cloud version are the same with not only features being unlocked by the product key but also bug fixes - and this could lead one to believe that Adobe was using bug fixes as well as new features as an incentive to move to their subscription model - while new features are an OK incentive - bug resolution, in my mind, is not an ethical way of doing business, and I am sure Adobe's Cloud plan would not stoop that low

    For some reason Creative Cloud is showing applications that I don't have installed as installed (see below).
    I posted the VERY frustrated question of "why won't Creative Cloud uninstall?" and was met with NOTHING useful, and ended up having to
    "manually uninstall" (delete the program folders) all of the programs I didn't want including CC, which I then re-installed.
    The programs that I don't have installed below are: inDesignCC, PhotoshopCC, IllustratorCC, InCopyCC, and Bridge.
    I was able to run the Adobe Cleaner on Indesign CC and Bridge, but nothing else.
    Does anyone know why I can't get rid of the rest?

  • Wow, why does Creative Cloud suck so bad?   Why are there no FAQs in the Creative Cloud FAQ?

    I am new to Creative Cloud.   I found some PSD event poster templates on line and I would like to be able to download some of these templates to create event posters.   I have modest goals.  
    1) I found a link on the Adobe site for $9.99 monthly fee for photoshop + lightroom.   ok, seems reasonable to spend $10 for a month to see how it goes, I think
    2)  Once I get my CC account set up, there is no upgrade option or the $10 / month deal... only options are more expensive than $10 / month... but I can try it free for some time... ok I'll do that.  Hopefully, I will be able to do what I want to do with the free services?  
    3)  Install create cloud app on my computer
    4)  click on install photoshop...   after 20 minutes only 3% downloaded.   darn!   Looks like I am not going to be creating any flyers tonight!
    5)   Is there something wrong?   Maybe I have done something stupid (I mean besides signing up for CC)... lemme check the Creative Cloud FAQ.   Oh!   There are no questions in the Creative Cloud FAQ.   Excellent...

    I just want to say congrats!

    That's the page from which I started this troubled journey.  I clicked on "purchase"  and since I didn't have an account yet, it took me off to some other page to create an account, verify my email and all of that and then finally to a blank page... seemed like there was some delay from the time I created the account until the account became useable.   In the meantime I was continuously directed to a blank page every time I tried to log in.   After some time I was able to look at upgrade options, but the $10 offer was not one of my options.   Now, if I go back to the original page which had the $10 option and click on purchase, it seems like it is giving me the option to purchase.   The whole process seems very poorly designed and poorly executed.   Does the software work any better?
    In any case, what I am looking to do is download some of the cheap or low cost event poster templates on the internet and edit them to create my own event posters.    I am not sure which Adobe application I need to do this.
