Why do email recipients receive "Part 1.2.3" attachments?
Every email sent using Mail that has attachments also includes an extra file, named "Part 1.2.3" or something. Anyone NOT using Mail as an email client gets these files. The file contents are something like "<html><body style="word-wrap: break-word; -webkit-nbsp-mode: space; -webkit-line-break: after-white-space; "><div><p style="margin: 0.0px 0.0px 0.0px 0.0px"></p></div></body></html>" if opened in a text editor.
There is no reason I can see why the attachments should be included. They are kind of a pain for recipients. They are unnecessary. And thanks to the really generic naming scheme, there is apparently no way to google for them to see if anyone else besides me is being driven up the wall by them.
If you are sending to people who use Outlook as an email client, there is likely nothing that will solve all of your problems. Outlook was designed to work in a closed Exchange server environment. It was extended, poorly, to work with the rest of the world.
The best way to communicate with them is to send email in Plain Text and go to the Edit>Attachments menu and select both options.
If you need rich text, then select the same attachment options, but when you start an email, change the font to something other than your default. That will cause Mail to start the message with a Font tag which usually triggers Outlook to consider the whole message as HTML.
However, your outgoing email server (ISP) and the incoming Exchange server may tear apart the message to check of viruses and then put it together in a way that Outlook chokes on.

Why aren't recipients receiving the whole of my email?
It has come to my attention that some recipients of emails are not receiving the entire message.
On two recent occaisions I received replies asking for information I knew I'd already sent. Scrolling down showed that they'd only received a part of my original message although it appears in full in my Sent items.
Interestingly, on both occasions, it cut off after an attachment I'd included in the body of the email rather than at the end after my signature.
However, I have not been able to replicate the problem by sending emails to myself with attachments included in different places - everything comes through as it should.
This makes me wonder if the problem is to do with how my recipient's email client deals with attachments placed in the body of the text in the way that Mac Mail allows.
All thoughts (especially ones that aren't too technical) gratefully received!Update! I deleted the account on my iPhone (which was never really set up to begin with) and set up the iCloud through my iPad. Worked immediately. Now my mac, iPhone and iPad are all good to go. Hmmm, but yay!

Why is email I receive on iPhone a mime-attachment.html?
i notice this problem has been around for at least two years on the iPhone, any chance they will fix this so I can read my emails? Quite often, when I open an email, I see "mime-attachment.html", with no way to open this and read the email.
iPhone 4, version 5.0I would never ask people who send me emails to only send them in plain text, that is actually very funny!
But thanks for taking the time to type your opinion. -
Adobe Creative Cloud Muse: Why I don't receive anymore the email from the forms I created in several websites?
Hello Sanjit,
thank you for replying.
I had the problem on this website, I have two forms, one simple and the other more sofisticated:
www.oeso.org
(at the bottom I have a simple contact form) and
I created also a form on www.oeso.org/new-membership.html
but i didn't receive any reply so
I put the form on my website (architecturevisualdesign.ch) in a hidden form:
http://architecturevisualdesign.ch/oeso-new-membership.html
and here I receive the OESO New Membership Form Submission reply.
Thank you for your help.
Best regards,

Why do I sometimes receive email attachments in the body of the email and how can I download and print from there?
To save attachments, a couple of options include: (1) control-click on attachment, select "Save Attachment...", (2) Click on "Show Details" in the upper right corner of the message, which then gives you some attachment functions including "Save".

Some recipients receive my images attached to emails, some find they are embedded and difficult to impossible to separate. Just found out that if I remove my attached signature, the problem goes away. How to send images plus signature reliably?
When you attach things, make sure to check the box that says [√] Send Windows-Friendly attachments

When sending a photo from my iPad with an email, the receiver gets the photo upside down. Why is this and what can I do to correct the error please?
I venture to say the recipient is a Windoze user and if so, state of the art Windoze ignores or doesn't recognize photo orientation data that is included with a photo's EXIF data.
There are 3rd party photo viewing apps that provide for this but not incorporated with Microsoft software. -
Hi, I recently got the iPhone 6, a bit of mucking around with iMessage, over it to be honest. When i message from my macbook air my recipients receive my message from my email. HELP! it never used to do this. its so annoyingly frustrating.
Please read this whole message before doing anything.
This procedure is a diagnostic test. It’s unlikely to solve your problem. Don’t be disappointed when you find that nothing has changed after you complete it.
The purpose of this exercise is to determine whether the problem is caused by third-party system modifications that load automatically at startup or login. Disconnect all wired peripherals except those needed for the test, and remove all aftermarket expansion cards. Boot in safe mode and log in to the account with the problem. The instructions provided by Apple are as follows:
Be sure your Mac is shut down.
Press the power button.
Immediately after you hear the startup tone, hold the Shift key. The Shift key should be held as soon as possible after the startup tone, but not before the tone.
Release the Shift key when you see the gray Apple icon and the progress indicator (looks like a spinning gear).
Safe mode is much slower to boot and run than normal, and some things won’t work at all, including wireless networking on certain Macs.
The login screen appears even if you usually log in automatically. You must know your login password in order to log in. If you’ve forgotten the password, you will need to reset it before you begin.
Test while in safe mode. Same problem(s)?
After testing, reboot as usual (i.e., not in safe mode.) -
My friend and I share an iCal calendar through iCloud. Until recently, we received email notificiations anytime either of us made changes to exisiting calendar events or added new items to the calendar. Does anyone know why these email notificiations stopped?
iCloud was experiencing problems with this a couple of days ago, where many users with shared calendars were getting email notifications even though their iCloud settings did not select to receive them. Perhaps when they fixed this problem it reverted your settings to not receive email notifications. Got to iCloud and check your setting for this. If it still look correct, try turning off email notifications, save the change, then turn them back on again and save the change again.

Why can i not receive email with my icloud account but I can send it out only
Hi Nortarian,
The article below will walk you through the troubleshooting steps for email on your iPad:
iOS: Unable to send or receive email
If you are unable to send or receive email, try the following steps:
Restart the iOS device.
Tap Safari and attempt to load a webpage to ensure that the device has Internet access. If you're unable to load a webpage, try the Wi-Fi assistant.
Try an alternative Internet connection.
If your email is provided by your Internet provider, try connecting from the home network.
If your iOS device has an active cellular data plan, try to disable Wi-Fi: Tap Settings > Wi-Fi and turn off Wi-Fi.
If not, try a different Wi-Fi network.
Log in to your email provider's website to ensure that the account is active and the password is correct.
Delete the account from Settings > Mail, Contacts, Calendars and then add the email account again on the iOS device.
Hope this helps ....

why mail can't receive email from gmail today, but yesterday was fine and yahoo is fine.
It's a risk if you're using POP3 mail. You can archive mailboxes to another location for safe keeping.
Or, just try adding new versions of the accounts without deleting the old ones (you can have duplicates, name them different so that you can tell them apart). If the new ones work, then you can just drag the mail folders from the old to the new and then delete the old. -
Why am I getting 2 and 3 copies of each email I receive on my IPad?
Every single time I use my Ipad, I have over 1,000 emails. This is because there are 2,3 and sometimes 4 copies of each email I receive. Does anyone know why this is happening? Is there a setting that I must change or something? I am so tired of deleting all these extra emails. This never used to happen. It has only been happening in the last month. I received this Ipad for my birthday last year in July. Please help.
try disabling email scanning in your anti virus program. They often are the cause of multiple copies of the same email.
