Why do faint lines show in acrobat pro 11

There are faint lines around all parts of the pdf. How would i turn it off?

I think I see what you're referring to. It looks like you created the PDF in Ilustrator CS6, is that correct? It sounds like you may be seeing some screen display artifacts caused by flattening transparency. Since those lines don't change thickness when you zoom in and out, they are most likely a screen display issue only. Without seeing the form it would be pretty hard to tell beyond what was stated.
Are any of the users using a mobile device to fill in the form?
It is possible the non-Adobe mobile users are manually adding up the fields and entering the string currency symbols and thousand separators, either of which could cause this error.

Why can't I interact with Acrobat Pro XI while it is performing OCR on a set of large files?

I am running Acrobat Pro XI on a beefy MacBook Pro with lots of RAM and CPU to spare. I need to perform OCR on hundreds of pages of text spread across dozens of files. That understandably is time consuming and is not perfectly parallelizable.
However, why am I prevented from doing *anything* with Acrobat while the OCR process runs?
Two suggestions:
1. Allow the user to perform OCR on discrete files in parallel. (I realize this will consume additional CPU and memory.)
2. More urgently, allow the user to access non-OCR features of the application while OCR is in progress.

Maybe it should be 64-bit and have multi-threading capabilities . Understand the problems associated with that though and I won't hold my breath.

Why is scrolling so sluggish in Acrobat Pro 11.0.10 on Mac OSX Yosemite 10.2.2

I am running Yosemite 10.2.2 and Acrobat Pro latest update 11.0.10, yet when scrolling through even a few page PDF document, the performance is terrible. It is stuttery and sluggish. However, if you open the same documents in Apple Preview, they scroll and run silky smooth and speedy.
I have read sooooo many forum complaints about the Mac version of Acrobat Pro and Reader being like this, and apparently not getting fixed with update revisions.
I have even checked on a Windows 8.1 virtual machine and the scrolling performance is fine, so it seems to be totally Mac related and Acrobat Pro not playing happily.
When is this going to get fixed?

Why does working with Stamps cause Acrobat Pro XI to crash on close

Although other people in my organization have been experiencing crashes several times a day with Acrobat Pro XI (usually from stamping PDFs and closing Acrobat), I've just started receiving crashes after working on custom Stamps. This hasn't happened before to me. What is so special about the stamps that might be causing these crashes?
Our users using Acrobat for scanning receive the crash message "Adobe Acrobat has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience."
Any suggestions will be appreciated.

Hi George - a few divisions have stamps with JavaScript to query user to enter a date and time document was stamped. Most of the users do not. Just a set of static signature and File stamps. The File stamps have fields that contain custom calculation scripts to always display the current date and time of stamping. This was never a problem in Acrobat 9 Pro, though. Some crashes have occured just scanning through Acrobat without touching the stamps. Thanks for the quick reply and would appreciate if you have any more I can look into.

I'm sorry to hear that! Please make sure that you're signed in as an admin, disable any anti-virus protection and try downloading from a different browser. If that doesn't work, try downloading directly from Download Acrobat products | Standard, Pro | XI, X - Adobe.

Why does the DC installer remove Acrobat Pro XI, and all of its plugins, without warning?

When you run the "Update" to Acrobat DC, Acrobat XI, and any plugins you are using, disappear. There is no warning. Pro XI is just simply gone.
It is not possible to install Pro XI along side of DC. If you try, the install seems to work, but the Applications folder only contains DC.
Also: Acrobat Pro XI does not appear in the Previous Versions list in the Creative Cloud app.
The only way I have found to get Pro XI back is to uninstall DC, then go to the Pro XI Download page: https://creative.adobe.com/products/acrobat
Click Download, and the CC applet will download and re-install Acrobat Pro XI. You will then need to re-install all your plugins.
Adobe: Thank you so much for creating a massive support headache for your customers! Your ability to screw us over knows no bounds.

04. Are you sure this is the behavior of XI? I did edit the whole RHP creating new groups and arranging the tools accordingly to my workflow. I did not remember to not be able to remove/add a tool.

11. It centers the window vertically no matter the exact position of the last used. Not a serious issue, but still an issue. For example: I set all windows to align to notifications. Acrobat does not:

Illustrator also forgets position and open aligned at top

13. It does not crash under a given operation. It occurs with any PDF file and even with no file open. Since the DC install, Illustrator also begun to crash, although less frequently. An example:
I was using 10.10.2 until some hours ago and now with the updated 10.10.3 the problem remains. I will have to do more tests trying to identify a common element or at least some clue, but the other apps, Adobe's or not, are running OK. If I get any new on this, I will keep you informed.

Line spacing in acrobat pro X

forms, made one in Pro X, to be used by someone in Reader
where can I find line spacing capabilities - (form is then enabled to use in Reader) looked all over for hours to find answer and nothing*
set font at Helv 9 point and the line spacing looks as if it is 4 point - very squashed and nor readable at all

In did try that, thanks for pointing out the Ctrl E, but prob still showing as same
tried diff line spacing allowed , diff pont size fonts, diff hard returns, no returns, was always using Helv and finally then tried to set as Times, but when saved and attached to an email, the Times was a sans serif font, and not Helv. hmm, I was hopeful because your solution sounded so logical, but to no avail.'
At one point, I thought maybe Forms is meant to only works with 1 line blocks, but I did see another pdf, where although it didn't accept hard hard returns - it ignores them, but they have the line spacing. The only diff is that in their form, somehow one can access the "sign" part of menu on side where it has 3 options - Tools / Sign / Comment and when one goes to "sign" in their form - it is accessible and a drop down menu comes up with the option of "add text" is available.
In my forms, "sign" isn't available in the 3 options, actually I have 4 (Tools / Sign / Comment / Extended) options that appear at the upper right show up? The menu comes with none of the options available but there is a small yellow box that comes up: The security settings on this document prevent adding text and / or placing a signature on it from Adobe Reader . To sign this document, you need to print it out ? I can't understand this thank you

Why my form works flawlessly in Acrobat Pro but is broken in the Reader?

after a couple hours of trial and error, I finally made a nice form with Acrobat Professional 8.1.2.
I have a small workshop that makes signalisation signs. With that form, my client will have a nice tool to order them.
Here is my form (sorry, it's in french):

In Acrobat professionnal, everything works, so the subtotal(somme partielle) is calculated from the 3 kinds of signs I make and the 2 taxes are applied.
But in the Reader (8.1.2), the subtotal is always 0.
Any suggestions on what's wrong?

I just went through your form and changed the calculations from the short cut notation fields to the "Custom calculation script" (the script generated by the short cut fields will appear) and noticed the lines did not end with a return. Adding a return to the script in the custom field cleared up the problem.
I have seen a similar problem with JavsScript code being inserted programatically into form fields or other locations within a PDF form.
You might want to contact Acrobat about this problem.

Acrobat pro in master Suite 6 Collection

Is Acrobat Pro supposed to come with CS6 Master Collection Student and teacher edition? I was under the impression it came with it, however I am unable to install it along with other programs. Can you help?

I'm sorry about that. I have Windows Vista Home Premium 32 bit with the sp2 service pack, 3gb ram, pleanty of hard space( roughly 250 gb) Intel Core 2 duo processor @ 2.33ghz. All security updates are current, and I have a NVIDIA GeForce 8300 video card. When I install the disk it installs completely; except it never shows the option to download and install Acrobat or some other programs. Some programs proabably are not installing because of their hardware requirements, but acrobat should not be one of them. I installed this a wile ago; proabaly about a year ago. I never needed acrobat pro until now. I have just been using reader; but now I have actually needed acrobat pro to edit and merge some PDF files together, which is why I installed a trial o acrobat pro XI. After installing the trial, it got me thinking that I should already have acrobat pro X since I have the CS6 Master collection student and teacher edition. It would be nice to have the pother programs installed as well, but I can live without them for now; it's Acrobat that I really need. Already ran and SFC scan and any errors have been repaired as i do have a log of this. I also have a clean, error free registry as i broke down and got CCleaner home pro edition. I haven't tried to do a clean boot of CS6 Master edition yet; that is probably gpoing to be my next step here later today. I have also thought of installing it in another users profile in case my administrator account might be corrupted. I also deleted and re-added all .net frameworks that were installed on my computer. I wanted to run a cleaner for that, but apparantly Microsoft scrapped that program. The other major programs such as Dreamweaver, Photoshop, fireworks, Flash, illustrator, in design, bridge, audition, and prelude have been installed succesfully; just not Acrobat Pro and some others. Does this help at all or do you need any other information? It's all I can think of at the moment.

Install order of Acrobat Pro and other CC applications

I work at a college and we're just getting started with Creative Cloud. When setting up the first seat of CC for my institution, it was a device license on a Windows 7 system. Only after my first attempt failed did I find the instructions for the command-line install of Acrobat Pro, and that it needed to be done before any other CC applications. This was surprising, but the instructions were effective after I uninstalled everything and started over.
Now I have a named user to set up on a Mac OS 10.9.5 system, and I'd like to do it right the first time. Anyone out there have any advice for me on this?

The command line install for Acrobat Pro Windows 7 is not that bad, the install information is all included in the packager once the its created.
In your exceptions folder there is file called Exceptioninfo.txt, if you read this you will see the correct way to install using command line. Below is an example of how to create a batch file to double click instead of typing these commands repeatedly.
Going even one step further you can do the following.
1) Copy the deployment package to the desktop
2) in the Exceptions folder create a new text document and call it "Acrobat_installer" or something of that nature, copy and paste the following into it.
cd \users\(username) \desktop\(Package folder name)\(package name)\Exceptions
ExceptionDeployer --workflow=install --mode=pre
3) Enter your windows user profile name in (user name) - Enter the (package folder name) enter the (package name you created)
4) Save the text document as "Acrobat_installer.bat"
Keep in mind you will copy this .bat file into the exceptions folder of your deployment package.
Lastly ensuring the user name is correct, run the batch file(.bat) on the PC.
Here is my example: Bold are the parts I mentioned above.
cd users\cpreslar\desktop\TAG_CCIP_7_14_2014\TAG Creative Cloud Installer Package 7142014\Exceptions
ExceptionDeployer --workflow=install --mode=pre
Feel free to use this next time you have to do a windows deployment.
