Why do gmail users recieve my mac mail signature in grey font?

I emailed my gmail account from my mac mail account and the signature arrived in a different font ( grey ).
Why is that? How do I keep it black?

The server returned the error: The connection to the server “www.rogers.com” on port 110 timed out.
It sounds like you're trying to connect to a web server, not a mail server. Check with your ISP for the right server address and settings.

Why can I not see my mac mail folders on my iPad?

I also use MobileMe and yes it uses IMAP by default.
Okay, it's simple than. The folders you've created are local folders which are not stored on the server.
In order to change that open Mail.app select Mailbox->New Mailbox and make sure you choose MobileMe at Location.
Now drag&drop your "On my Mac" mails into that new "MobileMe" folder. After a few min. they should be synced.

  • How do I export mac mail signatures?

Since migrating from Mobile Me to iCloud I have noticed that the signatures (of which I have a few) in Mac Mail do not sync to my other machines. My question is, how can I export my Mac Mail Signatures to another machine?

    Close Mail in both machines.
In the computer where your signatures are, go to your user library (in OS Lion this is hidden, but you may access it by holding down the option (alt) key while clicking on "go" then you will see the library item in the list. Another option to access it is to go to finder, click on "go", select "go to folder" and paste this: "~/Library"
Once you are there, go to Mail - > v2 -> MailData
You will find a folder called "Signatures". Copy this folder.
Go to the same locatin in the other machine. Make a backup copy of the "Signatures" folder and replace it with the other machine's folder.
Open Mail and check everything is running.

  • Mac Mail Signatures - Double Spaced?

Mac Mail Signatures show up as double spaced in GMail, but if I type out the same text it's fine. If I send to myself and look at it with Mobile Me's online viewer, it's fine too. What's the deal?

Carolyn: Thank you for the reply, however neither deselecting nor selecting that option has any effect on the location of the signature. In both cases it will appear at the end of the string of emails.
This is a time consuming annoyance - it would seem to be an easy thing to program that the signature lands wherever at the location of the cursor???

  • Adding an iWeb hyperlink under my .mac mail signature

    Two question:
    1) I have tried to incorporate my new iWeb address into my .mac mail signature
but it will only 'grab' a certain number of characters. It leaves off the last 3 or 4. How do I remedy this?
    2) I have two .mac addresses on my .mac account. I want to switch to the more 'commercial' one. How do I do this?
    Thanks,

  • Gmail stopped working in mac mail

I have three gmail accounts  I read them in Mac mail.  One account just stoped working the other two work fine.  I tried everything to fix it &  even changed my gmail PW  on the website. Nothing has worked. Any ideas?  I was on he phone with Apple Care for 2 hrs before they told me to call Google.

    Welcome to Apple Support Communities.
I always check the recent detail for a particular service at www.downrightnow.com before jumping to conclusions.
Major internet service providers often have brief minor 'outages' that may affect a few accounts or users.
And of course, they also have the occasional major 'outage' that makes the daily news.
Usually downtime is because of an 'oops': someone on their end typed in a parameter wrong, updated the wrong file, restored the wrong backup, or pulled the wrong plug.
Since you can apparently still access the affected account directly via your browser, wait a few hours or a day and see if it is working properly again tomorrow.

  • Gmail folders disappearing in Mac Mail under Mavericks

    Hello,
We use gmail for our small charity as an email client and mac mail to sync it between all devices.
It has been working well under Mountain Lion.
I have just upgraded to Mavericks and under 'Inbox' a whole series of folders I previously used to catalogue and sort my email have now disappeared. I cannot find where they are or the email that was in them and nicely sorted.
All Mail is showing - have picked this up from other threads.
Why didn't my previously logged folders come over with the upgrade? Can they be found and enabled? If not, how to do go back to Mountain Lion?

  • How do I get my ALL MAIL gmail folder back in Mac Mail after upgrading to Mavericks?

    Hi
I've upgraded to Mavericks - very cool !........ but my Mac Mail gmail ALL MAIL folder seems to have vanished in my Mac Mail listings.
Any advice how to get it back?
    N)

It seems its all in the new ARCHIVE folder which shows up now.......but dont delete mails in the inbox as that really deletes them and they go to TRASH.  So you have to manually MOVE TO ARCHIVE to ensure it finds itself in ALL MAIL on the gmail server.  Hope that helps?

  • Is there a User Guide for Mac Mail in Lion OS

There seems to be an major hole in the MAC Mail application when you compare the utility against Outlook and Entourage. Also when using it on the iPad, it lacks the ability to attach a document or photo to your email you send to someone? In addition, how do you create a sub-folder so that you can organize your email into categories or specific interests.
Is there a user guide somewhere which may show all of the features and capabilities without having to struggle trying to find how to use the Apple Mail Application as a real communication vehicle?
    Thanks
    Fran Linnehan

None of this really is germane to this forum, which is for questions about the communities themselves, but answering quickly:
There seems to be an major hole in the MAC Mail application when you compare the utility against Outlook and Entourage.
And what hole would that be? You might want to ask specific questions in the Mac OS X Lion forum if you are looking for a feature you can't find.
Also when using it on the iPad, it lacks the ability to attach a document or photo to your email you send to someone?
With iOS things are rather reversed from the usual procedure on a computer. You don't use the Mail app; you open the document in an app that has an "email" function, which many apps do.
In addition, how do you create a sub-folder so that you can organize your email into categories or specific interests.
It depends on your email account type. Again, ask in the Mac OS X forum.
    Regards.

  • Gmail Not Working with Mac Mail

Just this afternoon my 2 gmail accounts stopoped pushing mail to my Mac Mail (7.0). I can send mail from my Mac, my iPhone sends/receives on both accounts, as does my gmail when used with any browser. There has been no change in any settings that would cause any issues, so out of the blue I just don't receive emails on my Mac. I read some threads about appliction specific passwords but that seems unlikely as a cause since it just stopped working today, and as far as I can tell there was no change in my computer or google that would necessitate such a change on my end.

Just to upodate, out of the blue one of the accounts started receiving mail - the other still does not. I'm not sure if this is a google issue or more likely a Maverick issue, as some other odd behavior has occured with mail since upgrading the OS a week ago.

  • Gmail set up in Mac Mail gives me 3 of all mails?

I was having problems with duplicate mails in Mac Mail and on my iPhone etc as is widely reported as a bug elsewhere, so I followed advice and switched to GoogleMail and IMAP.
I've set up my iPhone and Mac Mail to use the IMAP GoogleMail account instead - and for the main inbox view at the top of my mailboxes view in Mail I have exactly what I want (and no duplicates).
But I also have (further down the hierarchy view on the left side of mail) another set of folders with the name I've given my GMail account (Personal Mail) and within that group of folders I have a mailbox I cannot delete called [Google Mail] this has an All Mail folder and there is also another folder with the name of my mail account. Both of these appear to independently maintain copies of my inbox mail.
It semes that in addition to the IMAP account that I've set up myself, somehow Mac Mail is also maintaining a view of GoogleMail in parallel.
Can anyone shed light on this? I want one copy of mail but now have 2 or possibly 3!

it certainly is possible to do that.
the exact details depend on how your POP is set up. do you keep the messages on server after you download them? If yes, you don't have to do anything special. just create an IMAP account and you are set.
If you don't keep messages on server after POP downloads then I would do the following.
    1. change the behavior of your POP to NOT delete messages from server upon downloads.
    2. set up IMAP and let it sync.
It will be lacking old messages from your POP mailbox as they are not on the server. to change that you can copy all the messages from your POP inbox to your IMAP inbox. Just select them all in the POP inbox, right-click and use "copy to" menu.
WARNING: if you do this, IMAP will sync up and put all those messages back on the server from your computer's mailbox. This can take a VERY long time if your inbox is big. Therefore, it's up to you if you really want to do this.
After everything is working correctly you can delete the POP account if you wish.
