Why do i continue to be told to authorize a song after I have authorized it?
I continue to be told to authorize a song after doing so. Itunes tells me the song is already authorized for the computer and continues to repeat itself. Does anyone know what i am doing wrong and why I keep repeating this step getting nowhere?
Delete the song from your library including the file. Then go to the iTunes Store and select "Purchased" from the Quick Links side bar on the right. Go to Music tab to re-download again

It is not compressing your photos other than normal JPEG cpompression
DPI is meaningless without inches (Dots per Inch) which digital photos do not have
There is a field in the EXIF data that records a DPI but it is meaningless - basically it says that this photos was displayed on a computer screen which is a 72 DPI device
The photo is exactly the same dimensions and resolution as before editing (unless you cropped it)

Why do I get a recurring message to authorize a song that I just purchased?
I purchased 2 songs recently on my MacBook Air. When I click on them to play them, it says they need to be authorized. I enter in my apple ID and correct password, and it says they've already been authorized. I click to play them again and it says they need to be authorized. Does anyone know how to fix this?

Be more specific. Do you mean after changing an email password, it says you have an 'Incorrect Password', or something else. My scenario is correct, than it's just the way Apple works.

Why do I keep getting prompted to authorize some songs when I have purchased a whole album? For example I purchased Return to Cookie Mountain and can only play 5 of the 12 songs. When I try to play the other 7 songs I get a prompt to authorize the computer which I have already done.

If only some of tracks from the album are prompting you to do that, that suggests that the tracks are damaged.
If your country's iTunes Store allows you to redownload purchased tracks, I'd delete your current copies of the tracks and try redownloading fresh copies. For instructions, see the following document:

Otherwise, I'd report the problem to the iTunes Store.
Log in to the Store. Click on "Account" in your Quick Links. When you're in your Account information screen, go down to Purchase History and click "See all".
Find the items that are not playing properly. If you can't see "Report a Problem" next to the items, click the "Report a problem" button. Now click the "Report a Problem" links next to the items. -
What does "extracted channel PDF" mean and why does it continually duplicate on my desktop? I think it happens when I move a file in Finder to another file and when I copy some web files. What application is set to open PDF files? If you CNTRL click on the file and open with Preview does the problem occur?
If not change the default application to open PDF files to Preview.
You can do this by highlighting the file and either use CMD i or Get Info , this will open a window with the info on the file with an option to change the application that opens the file.

Why is osx continuously caching external disk?
While I am -using an/any application that does- reading from an external disk, free memory continuously decreases and inactive memory increases with the same amount, which is aproximately the amount of data read. At some time, os starts paging and the system renders useless, forcing me to reboot.
Closing the application or using another usb slot has no effect, I have to eject the USB or use purge -which makes other applications sluggish-. Format of the -external drive's- partition (GUID, MBR),(HFS+, FAT32, NTFS) does not matter. All of the drives are excluded from Spotlight (are not indexed). I have
OSXFuse but that is only for Truecrypt, info about partitions show native drivers.
Why is osx continuously caching external disk, can a configuration/app/plugin cause this, is there a way to avoid this? Is there a selective purge command for external disk cache? Does anybody have this problem with external drives, and also with Mavericks?

Do a backup, using either Time Machine or a cloning program, to ensure files/data can be recovered. Two backups are better than one.
Try setting up another admin user account to see if the same problem continues. If Back-to-My Mac is selected in System Preferences, the Guest account will not work. The intent is to see if it is specific to one account or a system wide problem. This account can be deleted later.

I'm not sure what you mean. You can't use any cellphone without a SIM (except for CDMA phones which don't use SIMs at all). What is your exact situation? Do you mean that you have been using your iPhone as an iPod and now after the update it's requiring activation? If that's what you mean, then you will need a valid SIM, for the cell carrier your iPhone is locked to if it is locked, so you can re-activate the iPhone. You don't need active service with the carrier, though.
If that's not what you mean, please post back and explain further.

Most likely, your phone was hacked to carrier unlock. When you updated, the hack was removed and the phone is now re-locked to its original carrier. It will now activate and operate only with that carrier, using their SIM card
