Why do I get a "Server responded with an error" message?

I recently changed my MobileMe password, that has been syncing correctly for the past few days. Today, I suddenly got a "The server responded with an error" message saying that the server did not recognize my user name or password for my account. However, iCal seems to be syncing all right. Is this is a bug or something I'm missing?
Thank you for your help!

Greetings,
Are you using the MobileMe Calendar Beta?
Go into iCal > Preferences > Accounts and delete the MobileMe account from here.
If you are using it you can then re-add it and be careful to enter in the correct name and password.
If the message keeps happening:
First make an iCal backup, File > Export > Archive.
Remove the following to the trash and restart your computer:
Home > Library > Caches
Home > Library > Calendars > Calendar Cache, Cache, Cache 1, 2, 3, etc. (Do not remove Sync Cache or Theme Cache)
Home > Library > Preferences > com.apple.ical (There may be more than one of these. Remove them all.)
__NOTE: Removing these files will remove any shared (CalDAV) calendars you may have access to. You will have to re-add those calendars to iCal > Preferences > Accounts.
Once the computer is back up and running open iCal and test.
Hope that helps.

iCloud's Calendar is full of errors and problems for me.  The "Couldn't move your calendars to iCloud because an error occurred" is now gone (by itself) but nothing syncs between my Mac's Calendar to iCloud or my iPhone to iCloud.
I tried creating a new event directly on iCloud.com to see whether it pushes to any of my device and  got this "This event couldn't be created because of a server error; please try again." error.
    Apple, please fix this!!

  • ICal - recurring "server responded with an error" message

After years of using iCal without problems, (except for some recent duplicate alarms), a recurring error message has suddenly started popping up. It says:
"The server responded with an error.
Access to account "***@me.com" is not permitted.
    The server responded:
    "HTTP/1.1 403 Forbidden"
    to operation CalDAVAccountRefreshQueueableOperation."
I use MobileMe to sync calendars with an iMac, iPhone, iPad and recently added a MacBookPro. I haven't changed anything other than adding the Macbook. MobileMe seems to be syncing just fine. iCal is operating normally, all of the calendars and info are there. I checked iCal > preferences > accounts and the MobileMe account information and password is entered correctly, ...but the error message is constantly popping up. Can someone help me resolve this?
    Thx.

  • I keep getting "The server responded with an error" whenever I initially open iCal on my iMac.

I have an iMac (2007 edition; wireless network). I reset my AppleID password, but still get the same message. I do not have the same problem with my MBP, also on the same wireless network. The software on both are updated. No problem opening Safari.
Help please as this is getting really annoying,
    Thx

  • Server responded with an error 500

I can't get my ical to go online.  I'm getting a server responded with an error 500

    Greetings,
If you cannot open your calendar on icloud.com the issue is not with iCal, but with the data in your iCloud account or the iCloud account itself:
To ensure the issue is not just with your web browser, try accessing iCloud.com calendar with a different computer or a different web browser:
    http://www.mozilla.org
    https://www.google.com/chrome
    http://www.opera.com/download/
If the same issue occurs on another computer or in a different browser, there is nothing you can do from your end, you need to contact iCloud support to find out what is wrong with your account: http://www.apple.com/support/icloud/contact/
    Cheers.

  • OMacbook calendar gets the message "the server responded with an error" and is now not syncing. Any idea?

I haven't done anything to my Macbook (I don't think) but out of the blue when adding entries to my calendar,  I now get the message "the server responded with an error". Consequently it will not sync with the Cloud. I have an iMac which DOES sync with both iPad and the iPhone.
    Anyone any idea?

Sorry, no help there. Ical does not stay open long enough to do anything with. All it does is crash and apologise and say it will notify Apple.
Guess I will just delete it altogether and use google calendar.

  • When opening the Calendar app, I am greeted with a box that says "This calendar can not be refreshed."  After clicking on "OK" another box pops up saying "The server responded with an error."  How can I get rid of these?

When opening the Calendar app, I am greeted with a box that says "This calendar can not be refreshed," and after clicking ok there is another box saying "The server responded with an error."  How do I get rid of this.  The calendar functions all right, but just have to close both of those boxes after doing any action in the calendar app.

Please take each of the following steps that you haven't already tried, until the problem is resolved. Back up all databefore making any changes.
    Step 1
From the Calendar menu bar, select
    Calendar ▹ Preferences ▹ Accounts
Choose the affected account from the list on the left and uncheck the box marked
    Enable this account
Then check the box again. Test.
    Step 2
Make a note of the account settings, then delete the account and add it back with the same settings.
    Step 3
If you can't add the account, the settings may be invalid. Verify them. How you do that depends on what kind of account it is. If it's a Google calendar and you've activated 2-step verification, you need to generate an application-specific password in your Google account and enter it in place of your old password.
    Step 4
Quit Calendar. Triple-click the line below on this page to select it:
    ~/Library/Calendars/Calendar Cache
Right-click or control-click the highlighted line and select
    Services ▹ Reveal
from the contextual menu.* A Finder window should open with a file named "Calendar Cache" selected.
Move the selected file to the Trash. There may be one or two other files in the same folder with names that begin in "Calendar Cache". If so, delete those files too.
*If you don't see the contextual menu item, copy the selected text to the Clipboard (command-C). In the Finder, select
    Go ▹ Go to Folder...
from the menu bar, paste into the box that opens (command-V). You won't see what you pasted because a line break is included. Press return.

Calendar is locked on my MAC.
I keep getting the message" The server responded with an error: Access to icloud is not permitted. The server responded 403 to oepration caldavmigrate to server queueable operation."
    How do I recify?

We previously had a similar issue when migrating multiple accounts from MobileMe to iCloud.  The issue was resolved by disabling and then enabling iCal sync through iCloud on our iMacs in System Preferences.
Always backup your calendar before troubleshooting (File > Export > iCal Archive).
The following steps are roughly from a Apple Support Community discussion.
    Open iCloud in System Preferences.
Switch off (uncheck) iCal sync in iCloud System Preferences pane.
Backup iCal before doing this. You will need to remove calendar data.
Open iCal and verify the iCloud account is removed in the iCal preferences under accounts.
Close iCal, reopen System Preference and switch on (check) iCal sync in iCloud System Preferences pane.
Reopen iCal and verify the iCloud account is enabled in the iCal preferences under accounts.
At this point if the problem persists you might try completely signing out of iCloud and then signing back in. But remember to backup all related data (iCal, Contacts, Mail, Photostream, etc) before turning off iCloud sync!

I recently had to have a migration done on my Mac Desktop. Since then I keep getting this message on my MacBook regarding my calendar: "The server responded with an error."   Its been asking me to check my ID and password, which I did not change.  What do I do to correct the problem?

That's probably the MobileMe or iCloud password.
Go to System Preferences > Mobile Me (or iCloud).  If you're not logged-in, do so.  If you are, log out and back in again.

I am tired of how Yahoo has gotten worse and worse. It is the ONLY account I get problems with DAILY (even after removing and re-adding). AOL will act up once in a while not taking a saved password but accepting it when OK is clicked.... But Yahoo is always responding with such errors.... Today's calendar error is:
The request (CalDAVAccountRefreshQueueableOperation) for account “Yahoo” failed.
