Why do I get a too many http redirect message when accessing top charts in App Store?
When trying to access Top Charts in the App Store I get a message stating "too many http redirects". I don't get the message with featured apps, updates, etc., just top charts. How can I fix this?
Yeah! Problem solved: It's a QT issue.
Cause: Mac Update Software downloaded a faulty QT.
Solution: Download QT from Apple's QT site.
Great to have the Video back

Were you able to find a solution to this issue? I am also getting the 'an error has occurred' message when trying to download or update any apps on my iPhone. Restarted, updated, re-booted, etc etc, nothing has worked.

AppStore Show "too many HTTP redirects" .. HELP
Im from Malysia,
when i try to view apps in my iphone 5 apps store, it gives the ''too many HTTP redirects" message, what is the problem? someone enlighten me please.Hi Markc Anthony. I was using iOS 5.1.1 before this and decided to upgrade. I did a full Update to iOS 6.1 through iTunes. I used one of my iCloud backups to bring back all my apps and Data. Since then I've been getting a message saying "Too Many HTTP Redirects" on the App Store.
I troubleshooted the steps by doing each of these steps:
I tried different Sections of the App Store and all gave me the same message "Too Many HTTP Redirects"
I went ahead and Check iTunes App and it looks like it has no issues.
I went to Settings\iTunes & App Stores and clicked on my Apple ID and signed out. I made sure every other switch was off. Then I went back to the App Store and still got the same message.
I went ahead and turned off the iPhone by holding the button at the top right corner and when prompted I slided the "slide to turn off" button. I waited about 5 seconds and then got to hold the top right button again until the Apple Logo flashed again. I still got the same message when I went to the App Store.
I went back to Settings\iTunes & App Store and signed back in. The App Store would still give me the same error message.
I finally gave up and did a full reset using iTunes again. I plugged in my iPhone clicked on its icon on iTunes and choose the button "Restore iPhone". I did not recovered from a backup this time and instead set it up as new. That actually worked. I am back to using my iPhone with no issues.
You all can try recovering from backup it might actually work, but I am having a feeling that the error may have to do with recovering from a backup using iCloud. You can try it again, but make sure you let it finish and do not stop it (There is a way to stop it). -

Look at iOS Troubleshooting Wi-Fi networks and connections http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1398
iPad: Issues connecting to Wi-Fi networks http://support.apple.com/kb/ts3304
iOS: Recommended settings for Wi-Fi routers and access points http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4199
Additional things to try.
Try this first. Turn Off your iPad. Then turn Off (disconnect power cord for 30 seconds or longer) the wireless router & then back On. Now boot your iPad. Hopefully it will see the WiFi.
Go to Settings>Wi-Fi and turn Off. Then while at Settings>Wi-Fi, turn back On and chose a Network.
Change the channel on your wireless router (Auto is best). Instructions at http://macintoshhowto.com/advanced/how-to-get-a-good-range-on-your-wireless-netw ork.html
Another thing to try - Go into your router security settings and change from WEP to WPA with AES.

Note - When troubleshooting wifi connection problems, don't hold your iPad by hand. There have been a few reports that holding the iPad by hand, seems to attenuate the wifi signal.

I have also sent 3 emails to the company if Smart Office 2 with no response.
How do I report my dissatisfaction which is growing with the frustration of not being able to contact any one!

Appstore: too many HTTP redirection problem / túl sok HTTP-átirányítás probléma
HY / sziasztok,
When I open the appstore, and choose a program, and open the info page, after that the page didnt open, just say "too many HTTP-redirect.".
Why??
szeretnék megoldást a következő problémára
mikor belépek az appstore-ba és kiválasztok egy programot , nem nyitja meg a tájékoztató lapot, hanem kiírja hogy "túl sok HTTP-átirányítás".
MIért van ez???Best Fixes for ‘Cannot Connect to iTunes Store’ Errors
by Patrick Jordan on August 30, 2012 in iPad Tips & Tricks
I first posted about ‘Cannot connect to iTunes Store’ errors on the iPad back in May of this year. I was getting this error when trying to update or install new iPad apps.
Since then the issue has continued to trouble many iPad and iDevice users – and thanks to our excellent readers and commenters we’ve learned a number of effective fixes for this problem.
Here are the best ones I’ve seen – each of these has proven successful for many users:
DNS Settings Change
This fix has been recommended by Apple support and has proven successful for many commenters on my previous post. The way this works is to change DNS settings on your iPad or whichever iOS device is affected – by adding Google’s DNS server/s. Here’s how to do this:
– Go to the Settings app and tap on the Wi-Fi section in the left sidebar
– Then look at the ‘Choose a Network’ section in the main right-hand side area of the page and look for the network name that has a check mark next to it and rendered in blue text – the WiFi network you are currently using
– Tap on the blue arrow at the right-hand side of the listing for that network.
– On the next screen you’ll see a section labeled ‘IP Address’ with three large buttons below it. Make sure the DHCP button is selected. Below that you’ll see fields for IP Address, Subnet Mask, and others. Tap on the DNS field (the fourth one down).
– This will bring up the iPad’s on-screen keyboard and place the cursor at the end of the IP address for the DNS server currently being used by the iPad. Backspace until all the numbers for that address are gone. Then type this in:
8.8.8.8
Please note the periods after the first three 8s. You can also use 8.8.4.4 – both are valid addresses for Google’s DNS servers.
Download an App Via the Purchased Tab in the App Store
– Open the App Store app on your iPad or whichever iOS device is having this issue.
– Tap on the Purchased button in the bottom navigation bar.
– This will show you all the apps you’ve purchased on the iPad. Those that are already installed with a greyed out label. Others will display a small download icon, showing a cloud with a downward facing arrow in it.
– Tap on one of the download icons and download a purchased app.
For many users this has cleared some sort of App Store queue and allowed them to resume with normal updates. Some have had to repeat the download with a few apps in the Purchased section.
Set the Date Forward and Revert Back
– Open the Settings app and go to General > Date & Time
– On the Date & Time screen, tap to turn off ‘Set Automatically’
– Tap on ‘Set Date & Time’ and enter a date a couple of years or more in the future.
– Go out of Settings and then straight back in and turn ‘Set Automatically’ to restore the current date and time.

Logs *FILLED* with "too many HTTP redirects".
as far as i can tell... this isn't causing an actual issue with any pages.
but my Console log is literally filled with :
*7/29/08 4:03:59 PM servermgrd[40] servermgr_web: Request for status failed: Error Domain=NSURLErrorDomain Code=-1007 UserInfo=0xae42540 "too many HTTP redirects". Admin Web graphs may be inaccurate.*
literally non-stop all day long. doesn't seem to be related to server load / traffic at all really. timing works out to roughly every 1 minute (very slight drift)... i get 2 or 3 entries. sometimes with maybe a 10 second gap in the "groups".
example of the "groups" :
7/29/08 4:19:49 PM
7/29/08 4:19:58 PM
7/29/08 4:19:58 PM
7/29/08 4:20:49 PM
7/29/08 4:20:58 PM
7/29/08 4:20:58 PM
7/29/08 4:21:49 PM
7/29/08 4:21:59 PM
7/29/08 4:21:59 PM
7/29/08 4:22:49 PM
7/29/08 4:23:00 PM
7/29/08 4:23:00 PM
it is getting very annoying obviously.
seeing the word "redirect" i did the obvious thing and disabled every single redirect i had on the entire site... including all subdomains. no change.
checked the master httpd.conf and the "sites" .conf files as well for anything else odd or redirect-ish looking. nothing.
since the timing is so regular... i can't really think what it might be.
one symptom i DO KNOW OF... is that the Server Admin app will not display the logs while the server is actively running. turn the server OFF ... shows the logs in the Log tab... turn server ON... that tab goes empty.
most likely related.
the logs are being written though. since i tail them just fine and see real-time activity.
i turned OFF all logging... error still shows up.
so as far as i can tell... not related to actual "Redirects"... not related to my disappearing log tab symptom...
any ideas?
IIRC this did NOT happen until migrating to Apache 2.
thanks.

{quote}
Primary address = 209.165.164.4
Current HostName = www.arcus.org

and i get...
{quote}
host www.arcus.org
www.arcus.org has address 209.165.164.4
{quote}
and subdomains show up right as well...
{quote}
host nps.arcus.org
nps.arcus.org is an alias for www.arcus.org.
www.arcus.org has address 209.165.164.4
{quote}
i guess i do get make double PTR records back from Network Utility... have www.arcus.org as an A and arcus.org as an A. should the latter maybe be a CNAME like the other (sub-)domains?
{quote}
4.164.165.209.in-addr.arpa. 86400 IN PTR www.arcus.org.
4.164.165.209.in-addr.arpa. 86400 IN PTR arcus.org.
164.165.209.in-addr.arpa. 86400 IN NS ns1.arcus.org.
ns1.arcus.org. 7200 IN A 209.165.164.3
{quote}
could that be the problem?
another server is set-up pretty much identical to this one (other than the content and it has a CMS) with the same DNS set-up more or less. (no subdomains. but the double A like this one) and it doesn't have the same error. at all.
though... it also has functioning web graphs and logs in it's Server Admin.
thanks. -
