Why do I get emails dated 1969

Every few weeks I will get a series of incoming emails that I has gotten and read days ago. Same ones keep coming in. I suspect it as something to do with iCloud. Also some of the messages say they are from 1969 or other ridiculous dates.  It will do this for a few days then quit for a month. I never change any settings. They just appear. Any ideas what is going on?  Mine is an iPad  running 2 latest iOS   This also happens on my iPhone 5

Never seen this problem before. But since you have Siri on your iPhone, ask Siri.
 Cheers, Tom

Try adding [email protected] as a VIP contact in your icloud mail app using the appleid used for icloud if using multiple accounts (i.e different itunes and icloud account).
But seriously that happens really !? not getting emails for using icloud services with a valid appleid.

Why am I getting emails saying I need to renew my iCloud account?
    Is this legit?

Unless you signed up for iTunes Match or additional iCloud storage, there's nothing to renew; the basic iCloud account never expires. Forward any such emails to [email protected] and then delete them.

Why am I getting emails twice. Not all the time ... but sometimes. An email comes in ... five minutes later the same email comes in  again. And theyre not spams ... theyre legit emails.
    Im puzzled by this.

    Hi Kara38,
Thanks for using Apple Support Communities.  This article contains information on the conditions that have to exist for an iPad to trigger that email:
    iCloud: Locate your device
    http://support.apple.com/kb/PH2698
Find the approximate location of your iOS devices and Mac computers. You can locate your device if:
Find My iPhone is set up on the device.
The iOS device is online, or the Mac is online (awake and in range of a Wi-Fi network).
Note:   If Find My iPhone can’t locate a device, the last known location is displayed for up to 24 hours. Select “Notify me when found” to get an email when it comes online.
Note:   Maps and location information depend on data collection services provided by third parties. These services are subject to change and may not be available in all geographic areas, resulting in inaccurate or incomplete maps or location information.
In the above quotes, the term "online" leads to this article:
    iCloud: online
    http://support.apple.com/kb/PH2593
That article goes on to further define being online as:
An iOS device is online if it’s turned on (with or without a passcode lock) and connected to a data network, such as EDGE, 3G, or Wi-Fi. A Mac computer is online if it’s turned on and connected to the Internet via Wi-Fi or Ethernet.
If a device is online, a green dot appears beside the device in the My Devices list.
    I hope this helps,
    - Ari

  • Why am I getting Emails from Apple in turkish to an Email-address that isn't used for my Apple ID anymore ?

Hi everybody, I already apologize if this isn't the right community for my problem. This whole thing is very confusing  so I really hope someone can help me
I used Gmail as my official email account and it was also the Email address for my Apple-ID (for many, many years..)
Strangely, a few months ago, I got an Email from Apple saying that my Apple-ID was being used for Imessage and Facetime on other devices (in Turkey?). I googled it and found out that it might be a fishing mail so I quickly changed my password and also the Email-adress for my Apple.ID – which means that the Gmail-account was not longer in use for Apple anymore.
But here's the problem :  I still get Emails from Apple (in Turkish) from time to time to my Gmail- account. They don't seem to be fishing Emails, though.  Another odd thing about that is, that the mails I receive at Gmail don't seem to be addressed to my CORRECT email-address.
While my adress looks like „[email protected]“ the Itunes mails I receive are addressed to '[email protected]“ .  I hope you know what I mean. There is no point between the names in my real address.
What could this be and how can I solve this problem ? It's really freaking me out.
    Thanks,
    D.

    Hi D.,

  • Why am I getting  emails that I already received in my inbox?

Today I got all my emails from the past month. I looked to see if something changed in settings but couldn't find anything. Why is the happening?

Have you checked the email on a computer - in web mail perhaps? The reason that I ask is that my email provider's servers were down earlier this week, and I kept getting the message that my username and password were not correct on my iPad that I had been using for email not 5 minutes earlier. I knew that was B.S., so I logged onto my webmail on my Mac and when I tried to retrieve my email, there was a message from the provider that the services was down.
What I mean is - you can get bizarre messages on the iPad about your email account  that are obviously not true - if your email service is down. I'm not saying that this is the problem, but it always pays to make sure that the issue isn't on the providers end.

  • Receiving blank emails dated 1969

I have two iPads and two Macs, but one of my iPads has started to receive emails showing a send date of 1969.  These emails have no content and no subject line, and tend to arrive in groups of around six messages.  Has anyone else experienced this anomaly

Have you tried resetting your iPad?
Reset: Press the Home and On/Off buttons at the same time and hold them until the Apple logo appears (about 10-15 seconds).
    No data will be lost.

  • Why am I getting emails from Skype in Chinese?

I am a resident of India, and my preferred language of communication is English. Strangely, all the official email (communication/alerts/notifications) that I'm receiving from Skype support is in Chinese (I translate them in google to read them)!
Does this indicate that my Skype account is compromised anyhow? I do not notice any suspicious activity in my account though. Just the fact that all official emails from Skype are in Chinese language
    Thanks & Regards,
    Suman G.

I had the same thing happen to me today as well. My account was locked between the time I logged off last night and logged back in again this morning. I reset my password and the confirmation e-mail came to me in Chinese. I do not have any stored payment information for Skype, but I checked all the purchase history and everything else on my account. Someone had linked my Skype account to their Microsoft account. I'm assuming that Microsoft account was setup for Chinese and that's where the setting came in from. In my Skype profile, all language settings are English. I've unlinked that Microsoft account, but Skype e-mails are still coming over in Chinese.
Makes me glad I don't have any saved payment information in my Skype account.

  • Any advice as to why I'm getting Email Server Timeouts for my 2 email accounts (ports 993 & 110)?

Email Server Timeouts for my two email accounts:
For the time periods April 12-21, 2012 and April 27-present, 2012 I have been unable to access my email account at ***** through the pop server. The server returns them message "The connection to the server “*****” on port 110 timed out."
I have also had the same problem accessing my gmail account via IMAP, receiving the following message: "The connection to the server “imap.gmail.com” on port 993 timed out."
I used the Connection Doctor program connected to Apple Mail and received the following information:
Mail was able to connect to the internet.
Gmail: Could not connect to this Gmail IMAP server. Check your network connection and that you entered the correct information in the Account preferences. Also verify that the server supports SSL. If it does not, deselect the "Use SSL" checkbox in the Advanced tab of Account preferences.
BayanMail: Could not connect to this POP server. Check your network connection and that you entered the correct information in the Account preferences.
SMTP smtp.gmail.com:*****@gmail.com Connection and login to server succeeded.
*****Mail SMTP server: Connection to server succeeded; login not required.
Can you help me with this problem?
    I am running OS 10.6.8
    Mail 4.5

The Motorola Droid Razr has a camera that sets up the shot to take a quality picture so its not in an instant. My wife also doesn't like that feature but I believe in the settings you can disable some of those functions. You have to read the owners manual for optimal settings.
Now email sent from the native app that came with the phone is totally useless. If you have a email service like Gmail or Yahoo Mail or Outlook Email go to the google play store and use the stand alone app. I can tell you that when we email photos the best email app is GMail or Microsoft Outlook Mail.
I take a picture and then select Gmail and it attaches and sends with great speed and Outlook works this way also since the attachment size is greater than other email programs. Your local isp or even exchange server will not send such large attachments
And I agree those apps preloaded should be able to be removed. If I buy my phone I should say what I want on it. But alas unless you do some other methods you can find on the web those dumb apps will remain.
    Good Luck

  • Why did I get an email from the fraud dept saying my order is on hold, told to call a number, and then told by dept it's not true?

I placed an order to upgrade my phone yesterday, and the order went through, I was told the new phone would arrive Thursday. After I got home from work today I saw an email from Verizon that says "Dear Customer:
Verizon Fraud Prevention Team is currently reviewing the following order on your wireless account. Please call the Verizon Fraud Prevention Team at 888-483-7200 option 3, press 1 to verify this Order."
I called this number immediately, since I need this phone ASAP, assuming it would just be a recording and I would have to verify an account number or something. But instead, after following the instructions, I was put on hold because I needed to speak to someone in person. After several instances of my call being cut off after being on hold for at least half an hour, I finally got through after three hours and was able to speak to a fraud representative. I gave her my info and told her the problem and she told me I had called the wrong department. Instead of the fraud department, I needed the online order department. She transferred me, and I waited on hold again. When the representative from the online order dept picked up, she first told me if it was a fraud issue I'd need to speak with the fraud dept - who had JUST transferred me to her. After this, she said that my order is not on hold, because it hasn't even been processed yet or had the credit check done. When I asked if this meant I hadn't needed to call at all, she said yes. Is this actually true or is there a chance that there's an issue with my order I don't know about? If there is no issue, these emails really shouldn't be sent out, they're incredibly misleading, and I've wasted a whole lot of time and experienced an incredible amount of anxiety for no reason.

Hi.  I checked on the order and it says the order is currently being processed and I should check back tomorrow. I'm mostly just concerned because I got an email saying the order was on hold, and I want to make sure it actually does go through and I'm not just waiting for a delivery that's not going to come. I'm still confused as to why I'd get an email saying I had to call the fraud department only to be told I shouldn't have called the fraud department.

My iMac locks up constantly in email. I click on one or two emails. Then when I click on another email, I get the spinning wheel and have to relaunch. Why does it get confused and lock up? Seems like it is stuck.

I run Disk Repair several times, shows a lot of Java, "remote" issues.
Restart don't know if it helps, I do it all the time. What's with quitting Mail but it doesn't quit, and why a separate maneuver to "Log Out".
