Hi, my name is Gerard and my iphoto library is getting very large I would like to know if I can store all or most of my photos in a external hard drive and access them from Aperture?
Moving the iPhoto library is safe and simple - quit iPhoto and drag the iPhoto library intact as a single entity to the external drive - depress the option key and launch iPhoto using the "select library" option to point to the new location on the external drive - fully test it and then trash the old library on the internal drive (test one more time prior to emptying the trash)
And be sure that the External drive is formatted Mac OS extended (journaled) (iPhoto does not work with drives with other formats) and that it is always available prior to launching iPhoto
And backup soon and often - having your iPhoto library on an external drive is not a backup and if you are using Time Machine you need to check and be sure that TM is backing up your external drive

I'm placing images from Bridge by selecting the image or images and going to File>Place>In Indesign. This loads the cursor in ID and I attempt to click and drag a frame to size the image on the page. That's when I get the message.
Placing images into existing frames is OK, and single click to place works also. Only when I click and drag to create a new frame.
This happens every time regardless of image size, resolution or root folder location.
Any ideas? Why is ID stuck with click & drag?

Hard reset 30 times to get my Digitizer working would like to get answer
I bought Palm TX which worked very good for six days, once I had pulled the SD card out the palm froze so I did soft reset with no results. Then I did hard reset when it comes to digitiser screen it goes on and on endless in a loop. I tried hard reset 30 times to get my palm working properly. Can any one explain what the cause would be to avoid this happening next time. I am using the palm with the only one external software "Hand D Base v4.0" . No other software is loaded. Need help
Post relates to: Palm TXIf you hard reset the TX, according to the directions in the link I provided, It will erase all data and 3rd party programs. After the hard reset it sets the device back to factory defaults and would not have any 3rd party programs on the device, thus if it is looping immediately after the hard reset, there is another cause of the looping.
There may be some kind of debris on the screen between the screen and the case of the device. Take a business card or folded piece of paper, insert it between the edge of the screen and the case. Move it around the perimeter of the screen and see if you can get out any debris. If there is no debris, it is probably the digitizer on the screen and the device will need to be replaced.
The powerdigi program must be installed on the TX. If it won't get past the calibration screen, you will not be able to sync the program to the device.
If you just bought the TX, it is still under warranty for 1 year from date of purchase. You can call Palm handheld support at 813-313-4913 and setup a replacement or take it back to the store where you purchased the TX.

I have a few saved documents and when I open them to view them quick, sometimes when I close it, I will get asked if I would like to save the document or all my new info will be lost. I didnt change anything so Im not sure why it asks me that. When I open the document again, all the info is there and nothing is different. Thanks
Unless they were Word documents, Pages has done nothing really, but it is updating date information in the file.
It is annoying but just ignore it and don't save.

With the Finder as the Front app go to the Go Menu > GO to Folder.
Copy and Paste the bold text below into the text field
~/Library/Keychains
Highlight the Keychain.
Use the CMD + i Keys together (Keystrokes for Get Info from the File Menu)
In the Info Panel that appears check the Ownership and Permission bit at the bottom.
Example Pic
Unlock Padlock
Check your Shortmname Appears (the (Me) one).
Open the Cogwheel icon
If it is Greyed Out to "Make "Shortname (Me)" owner then you are the Owner.
Check you have Read and Write Permissions.
You may need to check the Ownership and Permission on the ~/Library itself (you can do the same Get Info on Folders as well as Files)
If you don't Own it then, when you have changed that also Apply to Contents.

Why am i getting extra rows in pivot/rollup?
For this weekly PRoduct List Report by Period, rolled up to district, and company.
1) Why am I getting an extra rollup record ( like 4th record)? Otherwise Totals are correct.
2) When period only contains 4 weeks, There should only be 4 weeks, not 5, HOw can I prevent the Week 5 columns.
Note, Districtname, and regionname are only included to help me visualize complex decode statements.

When I removed and renamed some columns, I saw that the PLU is at the bottom of the rollup, not the storenbr.

I used the GROUPING Function and DECODE statement to let my storenbr column reflect the rollup level. The DECODE tells the query to use the value in the column in the level up
instead of outputing NULL. The GROUPING function tells the query when the rollup occurs. See the storenbr column is never blank.
There is no rollup on companyname, so no need to place in rollup clause.

I would like to downgrade the ios
Before a couple of weeks I have upgraded my ipad 2 to ios 6.1.3 , and I am not pleased with the performance and I would like to downgrade to ios 6.1 , but when I restore the ipad, an error pops up "ipad could not be restored . an unknown error occured (3194)"
I have asked some expert, and it appears to be something to do with "shsh blobs"....????
Why apple is complicated! If some would like to downgrade, he should have the ability to do it easily, insted of jumping from discussion blog to another! trying to find an answer for simple problems!!!i've heard you can put your ipod into DFU mode by holding the power button for 3 seconds then keep holding the power button but press the home button and hold it for another 10 seconds then let go of power button and hold the home button for 15 seconds. itunes will pop up saying it has discoverd an ipad 2 on recovery mode and must be restored right click restore and pick your ios version that you need to download ( i will put link) and then hit restore and it should work.

Hello, I'm trying to find a way to identify which input field is active, ie. which field has the curson in it and has focus in a group of JTextFields. An InputVerifier object can give me the field information - name and value - after moving from the
