Why do I get multiple security machine dialog boxes when I open Firefox, Windows and Mac?

Whenever I open Firefox, I am asked for my security machine password multiple times. Seems to be connected to how many tabs open (on Windows) and is always three (3) on Mac. I have Sxipper.

Strange, since Google is unlikely to do that. Maybe it was an bundled installer masquerading as the official one?
To start your clean-up efforts, please check your home page setting. Do you get the 3 tabs when you press Command+n to launch a new window? If so, the extra URLs may be tacked on to your home page setting in the Preferences dialog. These articles describe where to find that. Note that it can be difficult to see the full details of that field due to limited space available, so often it is easier to delete it all and paste in just the URL you want.
* [[Startup, home page and download settings]]
* [[How to set the home page]]
Next, please check your extensions, as they can override your settings. I suggest disabling ALL nonessential or unrecognized extensions on the Add-ons page. Either:
* Command+Shift+a
* Tools menu > Add-ons
In the left column, click Extensions. Then, if in doubt, disable. (Or if obviously bad, remove.)
Usually a link will appear above at least one disabled extension to restart Firefox. You can complete your work on the tab and click one of the links as the last step.
Any improvement?

  • "Security Warning" dialog box when click script set to Run at Server

I am rendering a PDF form using the renderForm component.  I'm setting the Target URL.  I have a script on a button set to "run at server".  I can render my form in a browser and fill it out, but when I click the button I get a dialog box with a title of "Security Warning".  It says "Acrobat is attempting to connect to [target URL]" with options to Allow or Block.  Is this the expected behaviour for server-side execution of scripts?
I'm thinking that maybe I should just use a submit button instead.  The problem with that though, is that I don't want to run the mandatory field rules and validation rules.  As I understand, you can't submit a form with a submit button unless all the mandatory fields are completed.
Here's the requirement.  I need to have two "submit" buttons.  One checks all the mandatory field rules before submitting a "final" version of the form.  The other button submits a "draft" version without the mandatory checks.  I was hoping that the second button could be implemented as a normal command button with a script that executes server-side.  Sure enough, it attempted to submit without checking the mandatory fields.  Unfortunately I ran into other undesirable side-effects including a distressing "Security Warning" dialog box.
    Ideas?

  • Why do I get a computer had to restart when I open my Mac.?

I get a page showing (your computer had to restart) when I open my Mac Pro. Why?

That is a kernel panic. It happens when your Mac discovers that things are so wrong inside the Kernel, that continuing is impossible.
A report of the Internal State of the machine is saved in a  log, and can be read back later for analysis. Use this article to find the report. If it makes no sense to you, you can copy and paste it into a reply frame on the forum for readers to analyze.

If finding and looking at the report is beyond your abilities, make a genius Bar appointment and they can do this for you as well. The analysis is free, but the stores are crazy-busy with the new software releases (Yosemite and IOS 8.0.2) so it will be a while before you can get an appointment.

  • Why do I get a NI-488 error massage when writing into a file and at the same time copiyng this file with a backup softwarre like Easy2Sync?

I have a small LabVIEW program which writes random numbers very fast into a ASCII-file. I want that file to be copied to a new position every 10 min. Therefor I use a backup/synchronisation software which is doing a copy operation every 10 min. It works fine a certian amount of time and after a while I get either an LabVIEW error (LabVIEW: Fiel already open: NI-488 Comand requieres GPIB Controller to be System controller) or an backup-software error (couldn´t open file...whatever). I´m guessing, it has something to do with file-access but I don´t know why?!? If I run the LabVIEW program and I copy and paste the random-number-file with the windows explorer very fast (pressing ctrl+v rapidly) while LabVIEW is still writing into this file, no error appears. Can sombody help me?
    LabVIEW 2011

    Hi Serdj,
you don't get a GPIB error, the error number has just 2 different explanations...
Well, you have two programs accessing the same file. One program just wants to make a copy, the other (LabView) is trying to write to the file. When copying a file that is written to you get inconsistent results! That's why one of both programs is complaining an error...
You can't have write and read access at the same time! (But you can have more than one read access at the same time...)

  • I do not get thumbnails of my App Tabs when I open Tab Groups (and so I can't create any Tab Groups).

I simply get replicas of the App Tab icons on the right side of the Tab Groups box. These icons are not movable and clicking on them simply opens them. As a result, I can't proceed to form them into Tab Groups.

    You can
Create a NEW account using these instructions. Make sure you follow the instructions. Many do not and if you do not you will not get the None option. You must use an email address that you have not used with Apple before.
Creating an iTunes Store, App Store, iBookstore, and Mac App Store account without a credit card
You can have apps purchased from more than one account. It does complicate update apps though.
    - Go to settings>Store and sign out and sign into your account.
    - Apps are locked to the account that purchased them.
    - To update apps you have to sign into the account that purchased the apps. If you have apps that need updating purchased from more than one account you have to update them one at a time until the remaining apps were purchased from one account.

  • Why am I getting multiple versions of the same page showing in the Back (and Forward) buttons?

I had this problem with Firefox 4.x -- and I just upgraded to FF5, but the issue still exists.
What happens is, when I've surfed to more than one page (or site) on a tab, then want to go back, I find that my Back button history often has multiple versions of the most recent page loaded, so that when I press the Back button once, it does nothing. Instead, I have to hold the button to display all of that tab's recent history, in order to return to the page that immediately preceded the current page.
Could this be an issue with a plugin, that's loading the page multiple times, or something? It's certainly an annoyance.
Thanks in advance for any assistance you may be able to provide!

Yeah, it's keeping all the history -- better than deleting it, I suppose -- but I'd rather not have to hit that button numerous times.
Here's an example -- I just tried this moments ago.
    * I just opened a new tab.
    * Typed imdb.com in the address bar.
    * Clicked on a NewsDesk story: Jon Hamm Locks In 'Mad Men' for 3 Years
    URL: http://www.imdb.com/news/ni11982605/
    * Then clicked on Jon Hamm's name.
    URL: http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0358316/
(And come to think of it, IMDb seems to be where I notice this happening the most frequently.)
So the back button just reloads the Jon Hamm profile page again, and ditto when I finally page back to the news story page (takes me two clicks of the back button to go to the page before it).
Odd thing, when I repeated this process -- without opening a new tab -- now I have FOUR of the news story pages in the drop down from the Back/Forward buttons, but TWO of the Jon Hamm profile pages.
Ah, here's an interesting thing -- every time I go to a new page (Hamm's bio, for instance), then go back, there is suddenly one more instance of the previous page.
I've seen literally DOZENS of instances of one page loaded up in this Back/Forward drop-down history. Not the ideal situation, obviously. ;-)
See screen capture below, if that helps.
    Thanks again!

  • Why do I get a empty pop-up tab when I use firefox?

When ever I start firefox, a few seconds later, another tab will open up on it's own and it is empty. I continually have to close it and then a few seconds later, it opens again. What ever the page is, it has a statement saying firefox has prevented this window from opening etc....with an allow exception. It does seem to be a pop-up but my pop-up blocker is on. I did uninstall firefox and re-installed it. Is it a setting on a certain website or is it in Mozilla?
    Thanks.....Jason

Just for reference as this thread is a few months old... When you uninstall Firefox, some settings, files and even add-ons can remain behind, and they are not in the folder where Firefox was installed. When you install Firefox again, those settings can come into play just as they did before. In your case, just doing a "Reset Firefox" procedure will, most likely, yield a different result as it should "unhook" the new install from the old stuff. If you want to uninstall and reinstall, doing a "Reset" before you uninstall can help your new install to be a clean one. In any case, a "Reset" is always the safest way to have Firefox '''permanently''' return to the cleanest state that it can. The Reset function ''tries'' very hard to keep your bookmarks, etc. and it is usually successful at doing that - I've never lost them. For testing purposes, restarting Firefox in Safe Mode (without clicking "Reset") should provide the same "Clean" environment. Now, having said all that, if you have a virus or malware you can throw all that out the window as it probably won't help. Scan as suggested, reboot and then proceed with whatever troubleshooting you think is necessary. Hope this helps...
EDIT: One last thought... What is your default Home Page. That page COULD be spawning your popups. Change the "Settings" to use "about:home" for a test.

  • Why is the Plugin Check suddenly starting up automatically when I open Firefox, and how do I stop it?

Instead of Firefox opening to my homepage, as it has been doing for several years now, it opens to a Plugin Check screen. I don't know why this started, and I haven't found a way to prevent this from happening. What can I do?

That is a bug with blocklisting plugins that has been fixed.<br />
You can correct this issue by forcing the file blocklist.xml to update or wait until Firefox updates the file.<br />
That update will remove the severity="0" flags in the file that cause the problem.
