Why do I get "SHARED--(name) PC SERVER" in my Finder
I have been noticing that every once in a while I see SHARED pop in the Finder, though I show nothing shared in the Sharing option. There is a name, such as abc_d12e34 (indicating numerals and letters), and Info shows PC SERVER. I am new to MacBook and am worried that something is wrong. I have a wireless, password-protected Internet connection.
Yes, we set it up, but it did not work, so I don't show it as shared. One of the two times that the PC Server appeared, it showed "MacIntosh-3," and then the PC SERVER in the info. Thanks for trying to help!

I am trying to connect to external domain via UPS Account having "Replicate Directory changes" permission on external domain while creating sync connection in UPSA.

If you have Two-Way trust relationship then not sure if you have tried below:
Create a folder on the SharePoint server
Go to Folder properties - Security tab
Try adding user of the external domain on the folder
Please let us know if you are able to add the user or not. If you are able to add then it means that the connection and trust is proper and you should be able to create sync connection in UPA without any issues or else there is some issue with the connectivity
or the trust which is configured.
Please also make sure that you have given permissions to sync account as per below TechNet:

Replicate Directory changes permissions are also required on cn=configuration container, below are the steps:
Grant Replicate Directory Changes permission on the cn=configuration container
Use this procedure to grant Replicate Directory Changes permission on the cn=configuration container to an account.
To grant Replicate Directory Changes permission on the cn=configuration container
On the domain controller, click Start, click Run, type adsiedit.msc, and then click OK.
If the Configuration node is not already present, do the following:
In the navigation pane, click ADSI Edit.
On the Action menu, click Connect to.
In the Connection Point area of the Connection Settings dialog box, click Select
a well know Naming Context, select Configuration from the drop-down list, and then click OK.
Expand the Configuration node, right-click the CN=Configuration... node, and then click Properties.
In the Properties dialog box, click the Security tab.
In the Group or user names section, click Add.
Type the name of the synchronization account, and then click OK.
In the Group or user names section, select the synchronization account.
In the Permissions section, select the Allow check box next to the Replicating
Directory Changes (Replicate Directory Changes on Windows Server 2003) permission, and then click OK.

Why do I get Invalid Incoming Mail Server when changing mail preferences?
I unclicked the "show notes in inbox" option and when I tried to save the changes I received a pop up box with the following message: Invalid Incoming Mail Server - The “Incoming Mail Server” field cannot be empty.
I don't know what this means...Hmmm, is this an iCloud account or other account?

Why are we getting 'Coldfusion 10 application server cannot be found'?
Our ColdFusion 10 Application Server would not start. It was running fine since server inception back in July until I got back to the office from vacation yesterday. Looking at the Event Viewer 'application' log, it's showing the following message:
"The description for Event ID 259 from source ColdFusion 10 Application Server cannot be found. Either the component that raises this event is not installed on your local computer or the installation is corrupted. You can install or repair the component on the local computer.
If the event originated on another computer, the display information had to be saved with the event.
The following information was included with the event: ColdFusion 10 Application Server."
I thought that the issue was caused by Hotfix 14. So I manually removed the hotfix and rebooted the server couple of times. However, ColdFusion still wouldn't start. Has anyone came across this issue before? I look forward to your response. Thanks.

Why do I get a OWASP Proxy Server error even when using Safari?
I first received this error when using the Mercury Browser app but switched over to Safari and still received this error. It appears to be resolved when I use wifi but not when I am using the cellular network. What could be the reason and is there a way to avoid this in the future?
It appears that you have an upstream proxy set in your APN settings. I've no iOS experience, so can't tell you how to fix this, but hopefully this will give you some place to start searching.

Using WindowsXP, and e-mail via Yahoo,browser is Firefox 4.0.I get the following error message when accessing yahoo mail site:"http://us.f831.mail.yahoo.com/dc/launch?action=welcome&yy=1782408664&.rand=0qrsdp1o...Windows can not find(the above address is inserted here).make sure you typed the name correctly,and try again". After this message is displayed on my desktop it begins to fade,and the inbox of my yahoo mail is then displayed..I am able to work all functions of the mail without problems.( I might add at this point that i access the mail program via a desktop icon).When I close out of the program the error message box with the error described above is displayed again on my desktop.I must click on the "X" to remove it.I can access my yahoo mail via Internet Explorer with no problem,as well as accessing via my yahoo home page.

Why do I get 3 digits for the day in Finder listing of files?
Yesterdy I upgraded to Mavericks; now when I open my files in Finder, the day shows 3 digits in the date modified column, e.g. 331 October 2013; anyone see this or have a solution to get real dates back?
UPDATE: I played around with this...seems the 3 digits may indicate the day of the year counting from 1 Jan as 1. I used Excel to calc the number of days from 1 Jan to 1 Oct and got 273; then I subtracted that from the "day" on a file I revised within the last few days. The date was 297 Oct 2013. The difference between the 297 and the 273 is 24, which is a reasonable date for me to have updated the file on 24 Oct. That may be the "what" its doing; qusetion is "why"?

The file have no error as i have compiled it on server, its listener file given in JCO with some modification.
I have tested the connection from SM59 it's working fine,but when i call my any of the 2 function(ZVERIFY_DATA & ZVERIFY_FILE) defined in my java file then i am getting an error "JCO.Server could not find server function 'ZVERIFY_FILE'" on SRM screen.
Can anyone tell me what can be the reason????

You cannot use .mac or MobileMe as type of Account, you have to choose IMAP when setting up, otherwise Mail is hard coded to change imap.mail.me.com to mail.me.com & smtp.mail.me.com to smtp.me.com, no matter what you try to enter.
iCloud Mail setup, do not choose .mac or MobileMe as type, but choose IMAP...
On second step where it asks "Description", it has to be a unique name, but you can still use your email address.
IMAP (Incoming Mail Server) information:
• Server name: imap.mail.me.com
• SSL Required: Yes
• Port: 993
• Username: [email protected] (use your @me.com address from your iCloud account)
• Password: Your iCloud password

Also, you must upgrade your password to meet the new criteria: 8 characters, including upper and lower case and numbers. If you have an older password that does not meet these criteria, when you try to setup mail on your mac, using all of the IMAP criteria listed above, it will still give a server error message. Go to http://appleid.apple.com then follow directions to change your password, then go back to setting up your mail using the IMAP instructions above.

why do I get the message "this computers local host name ______is already in use by the network
Usually this message means that you may have two simultaneous connections to the same local network: probably Ethernet and Wi-Fi. Disconnect the Ethernet cable or turn off Wi-Fi. If that's not the issue, shut down any virtual machines (Parallels, VMware, or VirtualBox) that are running. Rename the computer in the Sharing preference pane.

I have done extensive programming with the SQL Toolkit with LabVIEW versions through 6.1. My customer now wants to upgrade to Windows 7, so I am trying to upgrade to LabVIEW 2009 (my latest purchased version) using the Database Connectivity Toolkit, and the SQL Toolkit Compatibility vis. Everything seemed to be going okay with the higher level SQL operations, but I ran into trouble with the Get Column Name.vi.
The pictures below show the problem. The original SQL Toolkit connected the Prepare SQL.vi with the Get Column Name.vi with a cluster of two references, one for connection, and one for sql. The new compatibility vis have a class conflict in the wire because the Prepare SQL.vi contains a cluster with connection, and command references, but the Get Column Name.vi expects a cluster with connection and recordset references.
How do I resolve this conflict?

DanI've never worked with the old version of the toolkit, so I don't know how it did things, but looking inside the SQL prep VI, it only generates a command, and the the column name VI wants a recordset. I'm not super familiar with all the internals of ADO, but my understanding is that is standard - you only have the columns after you execute the command and get the recordset back. What you can apparently do here is insert the Execute Prepared SQL VI in the middle and that will return what you need.
I'm not sure why it worked before. Maybe the execute was hidden inside the prep VI or maybe you can get the column names out of the command object before execution. In general, I would recommend considering switching to the newer VIs.

Try to connect your ipad to itunes, if it does let you then you should be able to select the device you have in the corner somewhere, once you do that you should see a screen that looks sort of like your ipads setting, you should have a button that says "Restore" click that and your ipad should be restored. If that dosent work you should try going to your regular office depot or something. Good Luck!

How to get the shared name of a folder in my PC through java code.

I have a shared folder in my PC adn its shared name is different. Is there any way to get the shared name of that folder from java code. I have the absolute path of that dir. Can I get the shared name from that path in java or is there any other method.
