Why do i get the alert window when i try to email photos from iphoto?
Each time i try to email photos from iphoto i get a window with an exclamation mark over the iphoto logo. I'm guessing that the email has not been sent but why?
Go to the photo that you're trying to email and double click on it. If the resulting window has the exclamation mark that means that iPhoto has broken the file path/link to the original file.
Apply the two fixes below in order as needed:
Fix #1
1 - launch iPhoto with the Command+Option keys held down and rebuild the library.
iPhoto 8 (09) and earlier- run the options indicated
iPhoto 9 (11) and later- run Option #4 to rebuild the database

Using iPhoto Library Manager to Rebuild Your iPhoto Library
1 - download iPhoto Library Manager (iPhoto 8 or earlier or IPhoto 11 and later) and launch.
2 - click on the Add Library button and select the library you want to add in the selection window..
3 - Now that the library is listed in the left hand pane of iPLM, click on your library and go to the
File ➙ Rebuild Library (iPhoto 8 or earlier)
or
Library ➙ Rebuild Library (iPhoto 9 or later)
menu option to rebuild the library.
4 - In the next window name the new library and select the location you want it to be placed.
5 - Click on the Create button.
Note: This creates a new library based on the LIbraryData.xml file in the library and will recover Events, Albums, keywords, titles and comments. However, books, calendars, cards and slideshows will be lost. The original library will be left untouched for further attempts at fixing the problem or in case the rebuilt library is not satisfactory.

Are you able to email from Mail with those two accounts? If so:
1 - go to iPhoto's Accounts preference pane and delete both accounts. Now add them back and try again.
2 - a better solution IMO is to set Mail as the email client for iPhoto is iPhoto's General preference pane. This gives you better access to your contacts, a sent copy of all emails and, if you want a layout similar to iPhoto's, photo layouts located in Mail's stationary. -

Cannot find my themes when I try to email photos from iPhoto?
I learnt for the first time yesterday how to email photos from iPhot. (I have only just bought my Mac Book Pro in December). The first time I used it I saw themes and was delighted and then the next time I tried it there was nothing. It went straight to the email. I am extremely disappointed because I wanted to use them. I then have to Force quit everytime.
What should I do?Select one of the affected photos in the iPhoto Window and right click on it. From the resulting menu select 'Show File (or 'Show Original File' if that's available). A Finder Window should open with the file selected. Does it?

When I try to export photos from iPhoto, why does it truncate the title I have given the photo? For example, I have labeled it 2013RoxyCarousel. When saved to desktop, it reads 2013. The rest is omitted.
iPhoto 7.1.5.
I chose these settings:
Kind: JPEG
Quality: medium
Include title and keywords (checked)
Size: small
File name: use title

When i try to sync photos from iPhoto to my iPad using iTunes, the "Selected Folders" option is greyed out with only the "All Folders" option available, how do i change this?
I add the keyword 'sync' to any photos I want added to the iPhone/iPad.
Then, during the regular process of syncing the iPhone/iPad with my computer (mac), the photos with that keyword would be copied onto the iPhone, iPad.
I've been doing it this way ever since I was shown how to; ie after I got my iPhone 2 years ago. And every time the process worked - until the last few weeks. Suddenly it doesn't do it any more.
I believe I have upgraded software (either iTunes or iPhoto or both) during this period. I try to keep my software updated but have noticed previously that the new version often is disappointing.
I've not tended to use Smart albums much.

Just purchsed an .Mac account but when I try to send photos from IPhoto..
Hi there.
I just purchased a memebership to .Mac. When I try to send photos from IPhoto they keep reverting back to my old trial .Mac name.
I've already purchased the email only account for my permanent .Mac account, and deleted the old email trial name but it keeps coming up.
What do I do to make IPhoto recognize the new email account and transfer it? Since my trial ran out, and I removed the old account in my "manage account" folder for .mac, I'm wondering why the Iphotos won't recognize the information.

Welcome to the Apple Discussions.
This is using Mail, right? It's really a Mail question, but have a look at an email window - create one. On the left hand side. below the Subject Line, there's a heading called Account: with a drop down menu.
All the accounts that are active will be listed in the drop-down. If the unwanted one is there, then go to Mail -> Preferences -> Accounts (You'll need your password) -> Advanced.
Select the unwanted account and unclick 'Enable this Account'
Don't delete it or it'll delete any emails associated with the account too.

Which email service provider are you using? You can install DropBox and share links to the files that way. When you snd to your self (cc or bcc) do the items show up? What file types and sizes are these attachments? Are you sending over WiFi or cellular connection? Try using more than one email account from a different provider (Gmail, yahoo, iCloud, etc) and see if it is email provider specific.

When I try to attach a photo from iphoto to facebook or gmail or anything firefox crashes everytime. This just started happening. I have the most updated version of firefox and I have uninstalled and reinstalled it also. It only happens with iphoto. ever since I installed "Fire Fox" I have not been able to print anything off the internet, although I can print item that come such as letters etc.

is there an easier way to email photos?To use a web based email account you'll have to export the resized files to the desktop and manually load them into your email by hand.
As far as the message, it could be a number of things. What exactly is the message? You should check Mails preferences to make sure all of the parameters for the .Mac account are entered and correct. -

Start Firefox in [[Safe Mode]] to check if one of the add-ons is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Tools > Add-ons > Themes).
