Why do I get the Mac spinning color wheel for 40 secs or more?

Vers 7.0.1 completely stops my MacBook Pro and shows the dreaded spinning color wheel. I turned on my Activity Monitor and have traced the "time out" to Firefox. Not a plugin, per se, but to Firefox.
I have NEVER had this problem before this upgrade. I turned OFF the syncing, thinking that could be the problem (I had been notified several times - 10? - that the syncing server wasn't working properly, so I thought of it).
Any suggestions how to stop this. TOTALLY annoying. Happens ever few minutes even when I have the browser open but am working in other programs.
It takes more than 100% of my CPU usage.

I'm on an iMac, 10.4, Firefox 3.6.20 and the problem is occurring with greater frequency. It is possible that there is a problem with the files sessionstore.js and sessionstore.bak in the Firefox Profile Folder.
Delete the sessionstore.js [2] file and possible sessionstore-##.js [3] files with a number and sessionstore.bak in the Firefox Profile Folder.

Deleting sessionstore.js will cause App Tabs and Tab Groups and open and closed (undo) tabs to get lost, so you will have to create them again (make a note or bookmark them).

When I try to open an email or other attachments I get the spinning color "thinking" wheel. It never ends so I have to close the application. Is this a problem with my wifi?

MAC spinning color wheel after CS2 file has been sent to printer or saved??

Using Illustrator 12.0.1 CS2. When sending or saving a file completed in CS2 I get a long drawn out (several hours) Mac spinning color wheel that holds the file ransom until it completes the cycle. I have had CS2 for several years but it suddenly started this shortly after a crashed HD (reloaded the saved CS2 & data to a 2nd Mac that was fire wired to the crashed Mac) and a new set of fonts was loaded. I occasionally get the Wheel of Death too and I think most people do to some extent, but it's usually because you have got too many applications running or there's something huge on the clipboard. You can easily clear your clipboard by copying one letter from a file name in the Finder.
But several hours of waiting sounds as if there's something more seriously wrong. If you restart your machine, can you tell me whether the file you were saving when the Wheel of Death appeared was successfully saved despite of the Wheel?

Why am not getting the FILED LABLES in SM30 for my_Z_table?

I created a Z table with 5 fileds, all are Z fileds. Initially, I created all 5 Z domains, corresponding all 5 Z data elements. Then, I assigned thses 5 data elements, to the fileds in the Z table. I have defined the SHORT, MEDIUM, LONG, HEADING fileds, while creating the DATA ELENETS.
Then, I wanna, to populate some entries into this Z table, so, I opened the SM30 for this Z table, but, I did NOT see the FILED LABLES for the last 3 fileds(am getting the LABLES for first 2 fileds), instead am getting as "+" sign at the place of FILED LABLES.
1 - So, pls. let me know that, Why am getting as + instaed of FILED LABELS?
2 - How show up the FILED LABLES for the last 3 fileds.
I guess, there is enough room. coz, length is only 15 CHAR.

Go to the data elements SAVE and then activate it once more.Now generate the table maintance once again.It will work..

Finder crash - Copying data - spinning color wheel

Hi,
Have posted before. Running OSX 10.5.7 on iMac with 3Gig Core 2 Duo, 4GB RAM and 1TB HD.
Basically my issue is that anytime I am making a duplicate copy of data (into a diff folder), I get the rainbow spinning color wheel and it crashes. Usually I am copying larger amounts (above 2GB) but this happens for large or small copies.
I am somewhat new to Mac's, so I'm not sure how to troubleshoot.
I've had the issue since I bought my iMac last summer, and my warranty is up at the end of June. It has been in the Apple Store twice for HW repair, and they replaced the USB portion of the logic board (found that during HW scan), and the second time, found no issues, but I was able to prove it happened so they replaced the logic board and the HD.
Please advise. First time buying a Mac, and I love it.... BUT it crashes more than my PC.

Step one is to run the Apple Hardware Test program that came with the machine. IIRC, restart, holding down the D key, will boot into it. Run the extended tests at least twice. If the hardware passes those, download and run Rember, which does more extended RAM testing.

Spinning color wheel - jnl unknown-dev

I've been seeing the infamous spinning color wheel a lot lately. I recently replaced a disk due to bad sectors and then found out after that I had a bad memory module. I had a lot of corrupted songs in itunes and that's how I originally realized I had disk issues. I had a friend run a tool for diagnosis and we then replaced the drive.
I put new ram in the machine and it's been running a lot better, less spinning wheel madness. It didn't seem to be swapping before putting the second gig of ram in, I was watching in the menubar. It always had about 300+ gigs free. ( now I'm back to 2 gigs ). That last long spinner happened while I was playing songs in itunes:

do I still have some disk corruption perhaps in my itunes library? it was copied off then copied back to the new disk. I did purchase Drive Genius 2 and when that comes in a few days I'll run that.

The problem with write permissions for the OneDrive folder only shows up in Lightroom 6's export dialogue, that's why it's to irritating. Lightroom 5.7.1 is not having that problem nor does the file explorer. The problem also exists on both of my machines. Open Activity Monitor in Applications>Utilities, select All Processes & sort on CPU%, any indications there?
How much RAM & free space do you have also, click on the Memory & Disk Usage Tabs.
Open Console in Utilities & see if there are any clues or repeating messages when this happens.
In the Memory tab, are there a lot of Pageouts?

When I am in e-mail, I sometimes get the spinning color wheel, which lock up everything. when it doesn't go away, I see on the activity monitor, that CPU usage is very high (99%), for a process calles " Safari web content'. How much FREE RAM do you have when this occurs. It's easy to tell, when it beach balls open Activity Monitor (Applications - Utilities - Activity Monitor) click the System Memory tab and note how much FREE RAM is listed. If it's 500MB or less it's time for a RAM upgrade.
