Why do I get "unable to load" on some effects?

I am having problems with transfering project between edit suites.
Both suites run OSX 10.4.9
Both suites have FCPro 5.1.4
Both suites have Blackmagic Decklink cards.
The only difference between the suites is that one is an older PowerPC G5 the other a new Intel Xeon.
When transferring a project from the Intel machine to the PowerPC we are experiencing :
'Unable to load effect "Prism".'
'Unable to load effect "Kaleidoscope".'
'Unable to load effect "Color Solid".'
As both suites are running FCPro 5.1.4 I would expect these effects to transfer across but these effects are missing in the PowerPC effects bins - but why?
Are these effects specific to the Intel version of 5.1.4?
Any thoughts appreciated.

Mmm... i imagine it's a combination of the 5.1 disc, and intel machine...
here's a little thing to have a look at... try it on both machines and cross reference what you find...
Go to your applications folder and control-click (right-click) on the FCP application logo...
from the list that opens, click on Show Package Contents
from here go... Contents > Resources > zh_CN.lproj > FXScripts > Filters/Generators
... and see if you can locate the effects/filters on the Intel machine... and see if you can copy them over to the PowerPC...
I'm not sure. Going by what that post says, these effects/filters are not scripts so you might not find them...
The post implies that the Intel machine is using more hardware grunt ( which the PowerPC does not have?) to utilize these effects...
DISCLAIMER... I have NEVER copied any effects/scripts from this folder from within the FCP application, so please do so at your own risk...... but they're only files, so hey, what can go wrong!?!?!
I have deleted files from within the FCP app, and i'm still running...
Perhaps one of the FCP masters might want to chip in here and give it the all clear... mind you, worth having a look and seeing what you can find in the meantime...

I have closed everything I know how to and compared to the Simple OI.
You mention closing the Application manager, but I don't see that happening anywhere. Do you mean closing the application, and engine, and etc...? I have never closed the "Application Manager" specifically and am not sure how.

Why am I getting unable to purchase message from App Store for free apps on my I pad?

Sign out of your Apple ID, reboot yor iPad and sign in again.
Settings>iTunes and App Store. Tap your ID and sign out.
Reboot the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider if it appears on the screen - let go of the buttons. Let the iPad start up.
Go go back to Settings>iTunes & App Store. Sign in. Try to download the free apps again.

Why do users get "unable to set template properties" message?

Hi there,
I am trying to administer a new site that was created with DW and has a .dwt (Templates/ locatedat the site root). I'm creating "Publisher" role connection keys so users can edit their subsections of the site. Users should be able to modify template properties when they edit/create new pages.
While testing the keys, the users report that they can connect and edit pages. However, when they try to modify template properties on either a new or existing page, they get this message "Unable to set template properties" and are prevented.
I've tried redefining the site and starting all over, tried CS3 vs. CS4 to see if it was a compatibility issue, looked at forum after forum but can't find any answers. I am experienced with DW but new to Contribute administration so I don't know what else to try. Hoping that someone will have encountered this before and can suggest a solution.

I did find this April 9, 2009 post from majtom2grndctrl that suggests the issue is how contribute treats https:// sites. My site is set up as majtom2grndctrl described and I am having the same problem.
"I've got a problem with not being able to edit Template Properties on our test sites we host on HTTPS servers. I've narrowed down the problem to Contribute CS4 ignoring the website root configuration when it looks for the Templates folder. For example, say you have a site hosted at the following address:
https://www.yourdomain.com/yourfolder/
Contribute is configured to know your site is in /yourfolder/, but for whatever reason, when you open or create a page, and Contribute reads the InstanceBegin template="/Templates/file.dwt" tag at the beginning of HTML documents, it looks for a Templates folder at the HTTP server root, not in /yourfolder/. This prevents Contribute from loading the template while editing a document, and any attempt to edit Template Properties will yield the infamous "Unable to set template properties" dialog box."

Upon starting up the computer I keep receiving the below error message:
“RUNDLL Error Loading”

I found the file and deleted it but still get the mesage.

For Tools only upgrades, while creating the jobs, you should choose 'Initial' and not 'Move to production'

Why do I get "failed to load book becasue the requested resource is missing"?

This happens to the iBooks App on my iPad 2.
It's a recent issue that wasn't there until I downloaded the iBooks App on my Mac.
Then suddenly my books dissapeared from my iPad (prompting the above message) and only appeared on my Mac.

Unable to load/play some mp3 files on library

This is simply my problem:
When i drag and drop some mp3 files to load them on the library iTunes does simply nothing! No track uploaded, no error messages, nothing...The same thing when i try to play them with itunes. Double click on the file and...nothing! These files are similar to the others, 320 kbps bitrate.I tried to change their names o the advanced options but it didn't work. Please help me.

Verify that the files will play in another player, such as Windows Media Player. If so, you have encountered the classic symptoms of iTunes being strict/finicky/incompetent (pick your own interpretation) about slight variations in the MP3 headers.
Use a cleanup program to get them in shape. Many people here have had success with MP3 Validator.

Why do I get logged out only for some threads?

I am presently logged in (obviously), but if I visit this thread:

The screen suddenly changes to "welcome guest | login" in the upper left corner. If I click on login, I'm taken to the main welcome page for this site, and in the corner it says "welcome augratin | logout" which I suppose means I was actually logged-in already. But going back to that same thread, and I'm suddenly a guest again. This happens using chrome, opera and safari on both PC and iPad. What's going on?

Forum glitch. It happens to all of us every now and then.
I think the only way I was able to get around it once - it was showing the logged out thing on my computer, but if I logged in and went to the thread on my iPad then I could post.
